Defender Rehamn, 21, became the first Asian player to start a Premiership match in Saturday's win over Tottenham. And Coleman said: "Zesh is a great athlete and his attitude to the game is incredible. He studies the sport and studies his performances. "He's desperate to make it in the Premiership and his last few performances suggest to me that he's going in the right direction." Rehman, a Muslim born in Birmingham but a product of Fulham's academy system, gave an impressive performance alongside Zat Knight in defence. Coleman admitted he does not know why Asian players have yet to make the grade in top-class football. He stated: "We have one or two Asians in the academy but Zesh is the only one who is close to the first team." some may agree others may not, but finally after years of waiting, the first Asian footballer in the Premiership..and he is Muslim!
