is there any way to recover data erased from a cd-rw. I sent files to a cd-rw and it replaced the pics i already had on it! :S

What can you suggest to recover those pics?

All of a sudden my network connections folder is empty. I cant connect to the internet. But my sister who is on the same network as me (I have the host computer) can!

Also on startup I get a message saying :
Serial_CH0: Master No Device and Serial_CH1: Master No Device

This all strted when I got some alerts yesterday from antivir saying a site I visited was not safe. My mouse freezes up after that and so does my keybored.

Also my network adaptor is not even listed in the device manager!


What is going on? I cant even run a virus check becuase Antivir is saying the 'self test failed'

At first, I thought it was just a poor job by the Kubuntu team (my first attempt), but I then tried openSUSE, who has a reputation at putting out a good KDE product, and I was still having the same problems with this one, which led me to think that perhaps it was KDE and not the distribution that was having the trouble. Just wondering what browser you guys are using?
