Kuala Lumpur, Jumad Al-Awwal 6/June 13 (BERNAMA/IINA) Malaysia is continuing efforts to become the regional and global center for Halal food, that is, food that is sanctioned by the Islamic Shari'a. This is one of the three stages toward Malaysia's Vision 2020, as the food sector is directly linked with other sectors, such as agriculture, which includes horticulture, fruits and vegetables, fisheries, livestock, as well as the biotechnical sectors that include traditional medicine, health products, Information and Communication Technology, All these put together, pave the ground for Malaysia to become not only a regional, but also a global player in Halal food and its technology relationship.
