In Brief Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj – two disbelieving tribes from among the sons of Adam. They have wide faces and small eyes. They used to spread mischief on earth, so Allaah gave Dhoo’l-Qarnayn the power to build a barrier to detain them. They will keep on digging at it until Allaah gives them permission to come out at the end of time, after ‘Eesa (peace be upon him) has killed the Dajjaal. They will emerge in huge numbers and will drink up the lake of Tiberias (in Palestine). They will spread mischief on earth and no one will be able to resist them. ‘Eesa (peace be upon him) and the believers with him will take refuge in Mount Toor until Allaah destroys Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj by sending worms that will eat their necks. Then Allaah will send rain to wash away their bodies into the sea and cleanse the earth of their stench.

Assalamu Aleikum wa Rahmatullaheee wa Barakatu

Ya'juj and Ma'juj are described as two tribes:

1. They are the descendants of Yafith ibn Nuh aleihi salam.
2. They are not on the surface of the earth right now. They are hidden.
3. They are sons and daughters of Adam aleihi salam. That means they are human beings.
5. Their numbers are increasing and when they come out they will come out in a huge multitude.
6. To show you how many they are: When they see a lake they finish its water until nothing is left.
7. They destroy what ever is in their way.
8. They appear during the Khilafaa' of Isa ben Maryam aleihi salam
10. They will appear after the fitna of Maseehid-Dajjal.
11. Isa ben Maryam aleihi salam will make du'aa and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will send worms which will kill them all. Each one of them will receive a worm that kill him.
12. Ya'juj and Ma'juj are a harm dead and alive, because when the believers come out no spot on other is free from the bodies of them. Their corpses will spread around the globe. Isa bin Maryam aleihi salam will make du'aa and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will send huge birds with necks of the size of the necks of camels. (We will meet with these kinds of birds in Jannah, but they will not eat us but we will eat them, hahaha). These birds will eat the corpses until none is left. Then Allah will send rain that will cleanse the earth completely. The earth will be so clean that you can mirror yourself on the ground.

13. They will not be destroyed until they caused alot of corruption, and when they think that they destroyed all the people of the earth then they will shoot arrows to the sky trying to kill the creatures of the heavens.

This is what I remember for right now. They will come after Dajjal and Isa ben Maryam aleihi salam will be with us already, so we should make sure to join Isa ben Maryam aleihi salam otherwise we might be in trouble. The fitna of Dajjal is greater because he will come before the coming of Isa ben Maryam aleihi salam.

It's very easy to see why the Mongols would have been thought of as Yajjuj and Majjuj (wide faces, small eyes) as well as the fact that they destroyed so much of the muslim world and dealt us a blow from which we never really recovered. In fact, I know of some people who are convinced that the Chinese are Yajjuj/Majjuj. If they are not meant to be some kind of metaphor, then I think they are probably a subterranean race of evil little creatures trying to reach the surface. Maybe they form the historical basis for widespread worldwide legends of evil elves, gnomes, goblins and leprachauns who live under the ground in Cimmerian kingdoms. And maybe the 'worm' that will destroy them will be in the form of a plague or infection to which their underground living bodies do not have natural defences. After all, since science is the study of all that Allah has created for us to discover it stands to reason that those are the agencies through which the almighty will see His will done. What do you guys think? Interesting theory or not?

What I think is that most probably they will be mongols and their place of orign will may be somewhere near russia and mongolia or at north pole because the upper part of russia is almost without any humans and we have very little information about that part. and bro Ozymandias, I think u are also right.

As far as the appearance of Yaajooj and Maajooj is concerned, they are like normal human beings from the progeny of Nooh [alayhis salaam]. According to some, they are ethnically Turks. Others say they were the Tartars. They are according to some in Mongolia or behind the great wall of China. All of the above Riwaayaat and narrations are Israeli or Historical facts. None can be substantiated by strong Ahaadith. Therefore, one should not bother of those facts which do not affect one’s Imaam and A’amal. (Ma’ariful Qur’aan vol.5 pg.636-640)

YA'JOOJ AND MA'JOOJ
Yajooj and Majooj are two tribes which have been imprisoned behind a
mountain range by Zul Qarnain (alayhis salaam). They are a powerful and wild
people. They will emerge from their imprisonment during the reign of Nabi
Isaa (alayhis salaam), i.e. after the death of Imaam Mahdi (alayhis salaam).

After their emergence, they will wrought great destruction and anarchy on
earth. They are imprisoned in a land of ice, the location of which is hidden
from our gaze. Allah Ta'ala will finally eliminate them by means of a
natural disaster. After the destruction of Yajooj and Ma'jooj. Nabi Isaa
(alayhis salaam) will live for a period of forty years.

Important: Some commentaries on the Qur'aan written by modernists present
some fanciful interpretations regarding the people, Yajooj and Ma'jooj.
Their interpretations being the product of their personal opinions refute
the Shar'i teachings on Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj. All such personal opinions and
theories advanced by the modernists are baatil-baseless and false. Among
such false personal opinions on the matter of Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj is the
commentary of Yusuf Ali.

I never SAID they were Chinese or Mongols, only that at various points in time they have been supposed to be these races. Think about it, if u were living in Baghdad at the time of the Mongol invasions it would certainly have seemed like the end of the world with all these countless mongol riders wiping out your entire civilization with their wide little faces and tiny slanty eyes and appetite for mass destruction. And today they Chinese certainly look like they can overwhelm the world...and as Friend Of All pointed out...those guys will eat anything!

But seriously, I think they're underground (literally) and we haven't detected them because:
a) they're too deep/well-hidden

c) It's a BIG world brother
d) Maybe people HAVE found them...but not survived the encounter
