Feeling big and important now?

Below is a picture of Earth looking right at home next to her sister planets of Venus (almost the same size), Mars, Mercury and Pluto.

(IMG:http://members.cox.net/danielbjensen/web/picture1.jpg)

Now, when you add the other planets (below) in our solar system to the picture - Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune - Earth starts to look a little more insignificant.

(IMG:http://members.cox.net/danielbjensen/web/picture2.jpg)

But look at these giants (below) compared to the Sun, a star formally called Sol. More importantly, look at the size of Earth when compared to the sun. Everything human's have ever accomplished took place right there on that little speck. But it gets worse.

(IMG:http://members.cox.net/danielbjensen/web/picture3.jpg)

Even our star, Sol, pales in comparison to some of the other stars in our local galactic neighborhood. Check out Sirius, Pollux and Arcturus. Our sun is looking pretty small. But you ain't seen nothing yet!

(IMG:http://members.cox.net/danielbjensen/web/picture4.jpg)

Look at those giant stars compared to some of the biggest in our galaxy: Betelgeuse, Antares! These are the red giants - stars so big that our sun would be the size of a single pixel on your computer screen when compared to these models.

What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?

EFT is a way to change your feelings (for the better) using an affirmation and acupuncture meridians. Basically, you tap in a particular order, certain points on your face, upper body and hands while you repeat an affirmation.

It can be an extremely powerful way of dealing with all kinds of emotional baggage, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, general stress, addictions, phobias and etc.

You can download the manual for free here:

Assalamu Alaikum, Actually I am the first one to come here and I even tried to post , but my comp. was giving problems so had to shut it down a few times, so Br. Yasnov, I get more credit than these 2 girls. lol., and I am sure they won't mind a bit.

I had posted previously that changing blog names is probably a problem, because so many people have their original names on the blog, even though they have changed their usernames. The name of this blog now is kind of unique too though, if there is problem changing it.

BTW. very nice post here, and interesting facts. Just looking at the pictures you posted makes us realise that Allah is the Most Truthful. The value of this world is less than the wing of a mosquito, so where does that leave us, no even a speck on the Earth, unless we have sincere Emaan.

JazaakAllah for an interesting topic. May Allah bless you. Assalamu Alaikum, umAhmad.

Wa'alaikum salam Aunty (if you don't mind) UmAhmad,

lol, you are funny! JazaakAllah for the info. You are so true about the value of this world ... please enjoy this poem ... I love you all for being so nice ... my sisters in Islam ...

Oh Father Dearest
© By Gary L. Fountain

Oh father, how the time of past are ever so memorable with your ear
to ear smile and sparkling eyes inseparable.
The times you inscribed to us, the rights from the wrongs has inspired
your children to carry on.

Raising your next of kin with the unconditional love from within will
never be forgotten as your love passes to the next generation again.
And the times you spoke, you spoke with vigor. We would stop and listen
with never a dull moment or whisper.

You'd make us chuckle, a laugh or two with timeless words from your
father and great grandpa too.
Father, you taught us much about life and so much more that we can only
think of you while you watch over us from Heaven's door.

Hey what's going on? Is Zman leaving?! (IMG:http://www.gawaher.com/style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

Thus the blog of the man who I dissagree with half of the time is given away to the man whom I dissagree with almost all of the time. Oh well. Keep it tidy. Despite my leanings I did like to read this blog with some regularity. It's almost like an honor to be given Zmans personal blog.

Have fun with your new blog, Yasnov. (IMG:http://www.gawaher.com/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

BELIEVER
IN THE WORLD

A man whose faith is firm and strong
Is soft as silk in friendly throng
In skirmish between wrong and right
Like sword of steel, he stands to fight.

The skies are his inveterate foes
His war with them e'er onward goes
Though Muslim true of clay is born
From earthly bonds still be is torn.

To hunt the sparrow and the dove
He does not like and does not love
He much aspires his noose to cast
On angels great and hold it fast.

IN PARADISE

The, angels of this thing are sure
That a Muslim can allure

But Maids of Eden do complain,
From society he does oft refrain.

The Quran On The Snow Age

Professor Alfred Kroner is one of the world’s most famous geologists. Professor Korner, so it seemed to us, has a special talent of being evasive. For example, we asked him to describe the geological conditions of Arabia. ‘Was Arabia full of orchards and rivers?’ He said, During the Snow Age. And it is further known that the North Polar icebergs are slowly moving southwards. When those polar icebergs become relatively close to the Arabian Peninsula, the weather will change and Arabia will become one of the greenest and wettest parts of the world. We asked him: ‘Will Arabia become the land of orchards and rivers?’ He said: Yes, it is a scientific fact. This astonished us, and we wondered how he could state this as a scientific fact while it was related to the future and we asked: ‘Why?’ He said: Because the new Snow Age has actually started. And we can see the snow scrawling once again from the North Pole southwards. In fact, the polar snow is now on the way to get closer to the Arabian Peninsula. We can see the signs of this in the snow blizzards striking the northern parts of Europe and America every winter. Scientists have other signs and information proving the actual beginning of another Snow Age. It is a scientific fact. So we said to him: ‘What you have just mentioned has only been known to scientists after a long series of discoveries and with the help of specialized instruments.

But we have already found this mentioned by the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) 1400 years ago. He said in a Hadith transmitted by Saheeh Muslim: “"The last Hour will not come upon us until the lands of the Arabs are once again pasture lands and filled with rivers."”

At this point we asked Professor Kroner: ‘Who told the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam), that the lands of the Arabs were once filled with orchards and rivers?’ He immediately replied: ‘The Romans’. This reminded me of Professor Kroner’s evasive ability. We asked him another question, we said to him: ‘But who informed the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam), that the lands of the Arabs would one again become pasturelands and be filled with rivers?’. Professor Kroner becomes evasive if embarrassed. But whenever he was faced with the truth, he is courageous enough to state his opinion frankly and thus he replied: This could have been known to him only through revelation from above.

Finally, after our discussions with him, he made the following comments: If you combine all these and you combine all these statements that are being made in the Qur’aan in terms that relate to the earth and the formation of the earth and science in general, you can basically say that statements made there in many ways are true. They can now be confirmed by scientific methods, and in a way you can say that the Qur’aan is a simple science text book for simple man, and that many of the statements made in there at that time could not be proven but that modern scientific methods are now in a position to prove what Muhammad said 1400 years ago.

Allah confirms in His Book that: «"This is no less than reminder to (all), the worlds. And you shall certainly know the truth of it all (all) after a while"» (Qur’aan 38:87-88).

Yasnov
