marriage is not about master and slave relationship.. equal partners with their own duties and roles to play and when done according to the Quran and Sunnah is very blissful..

Salaam,

All the options fall short in describing the wife that a Muslim man seeks.

(A Beautiful rose that should be treated carefully and wth love) - all humans are naturally beautiful and should be treated with respect, care, love, compassion and understanding, regardless of gender. This is not specific to a wife only. And this is not the only aspect of a person.

(A strong woman with her own views and opinions who i should listen to) - 'own views' seems to imply that her views will differ from mine and I must comply to all of these. A Muslim couple consults each other and values the opinions and ideas of each other. The final decision lies with the husband as he is responsible for his wife and his family and he must exercise his authority fairly and according to his religion. His wife is his fortress. He relies on her and needs her support and help, always.

(She should obey her husbands everyword and not have an opinion) - I'm not looking to marry a plastic doll.

(She is worthless, and should be there to make babies) - an indecent and unethical mindframe which disrespects the role of women in our societies and makes them into nothing more than 'objects' to be used and discarded. What happens in her barren years?

(Other) - I'll stick my wife in here (when I have one that is) .

i'm not a brother either...lol.. but i also agree with swanlake... a wife is a companion in life...will always be by your side even when the world is against you... will care and support you when your walking stick gives away..lol (couldn't think of anything else)... will love and will be the dearest to your heart because for every thorn you have stepped on she would have stepped on several... and obviously her love and devoution to Allah will be no less than your devoution to Allah.. (meaning quite pious)

A Wife is someone who should be your best frien in the world. Someone you can confide your every thought and secrets in. You should share everything with your Wife. She is part of you and with your love you will have a soul mate for life and a companion in this world and the next.

Women are one of the most beautiful creations that Allah has given to the world and as Brothers it is our duty to thank Allah and treat them with love always.

I think its a bit inaccurate to sum up "What is a wife" in one sentence because there are so many other things that come into it. But my opnion, like others, is <classified>

Hmm I didn't vote but i hope my opinion counts

Of the VERY limited options here, I would choose one of the first two. I think the difference depends on the woman and her personality.

I've met both kinds and I'm not sure which would make the best kind of wife....

i'll just leave it at that
