Our Parents

Allah SWT has told us in the Holy Quran

15 We have charged the human to be kind to his parents. With much pain his mother bore him, and with much pain she gave birth to him; his bearing and weaning are thirty months. When he grows to manhood and attains his fortieth year, he says: 'Make me so disposed My Lord, so that I give thanks for the favors with which You have blessed me, my father and mother, and that I will do good deeds that will please You. And, make me righteous and also my descendants. To You I repent, and I am among those who surrender.' 16 Such are those from whom We will accept the best of what they have done and whose evil deeds We shall overlook. Those, they are among the inhabitants of Paradise; true is the promise that has been promised them

This thread is a reminder to all of us to have the best akhlaaq always with our parents and to make du'aa for them constintly .

What if, parents are wrong? and the kid is telling them to do right, when i mean wrong lets say in matters of practising Islam. Something like this which is obviously right or wrong, black or white.

What does the kid do then?

Allah SWT says in surat Luqman :

15 But if they strive with you to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. And accompany them in this life with kindness; and follow the Path of he who turned to Me. To Me you shall return and I will inform you of all that you have done.

So You Must always have good akhlaaq with them even if they are not muslims or mushriks its clear in the aya brother but off course you cannot obey them in this case .

And brothers and sisters lets not 4get if a person honours his parents this may be the cause of his own children honouring him. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Is there any reward for good other than good?’ [al-Rahmaan 55:60]

Assalamu Alaikum, Parents, oh yes a blessing of Allah, May Allah bless them with health and Imaan, and those of them who have passed away may Allah open the windows of Paradise in their graves and grant them Jannatul Firdaus in the hereafter, Ameen.

My mom passed away when I was 15, she was just 38 years old. I am going to be 50 years old in 6 months, but still miss my mom. Those of you who have a mother, make the most of it, do as much as you can for her, because you never know when things will change, May Allah give you and your parents long and happy and loving lives, ameen, but we have to face the fact that Izraeel Alaihis Salam can visit any of us any time, so dont waste your time thinking, I will serve her when she is old, you might not get that opportunity, I did not. I request my dear brothers and sisters to make dua for my late mother's maghfirah, and her place in Jannatul Firdaus, inshaAllah.

Okay, Dads, a very special gift of Allah, for everyone specially the daughters, you all will agree that fathers and daughters have a special relationship, that son's cannot understand (forgive me, but yes there are exceptions) Dont underestimate the love of the father, they probably seem a bit reserved, but look for that little smirk when you say something funny, or that look of pride or the shine in the eye when you do something nice. Most of the time boys tend to open up quite a bit with their mothers but are careful where the fathers are concerned, same in my family, but I would really request you boys and girls to go up to your fathers and tell them at least once that you admire them and you love them.

Some of your parents might not be Muslims, but still they deserve your love and respect and obedience in all matters except when they tell you to do something against the commandments of Allah. Make dua for them, that Allah give them guidence. Your good nature and behaviour might become the source for them to embrace Islam.

Br. Faqeer, when I finished this thread and the one in Ghareeba blog, I took my phone and called my Father (he is 78 years old) in India, Alhamdulillah I am glad he picked up the phone and I said Assalamu Alaikum Baba, his reply is still ringing in my ears, I could hear the happiness in his voice, when he screamed in the phone, ITS MY BABY. I talked for a good one hour, the best time of my life really, I do call him very often, and it is always the same reaction from him.

Ya Allah give us the tawfeeq to behave good towards our parents and serve, love and respect them when we still have a chance, ameen.

RABBIR HAMHUMA KAMA RABBAYAANI SAGHEERA. I would really appreciate if you could type this dua in Arabic. Wassalamu alaikum. masooma

Salaam,

Indeed parents are a great blessing from Allah,we should love them, hug them, kiss them, smile at them, talk to them, help them every single day,a childs heart is connected to the parents and inshallah if we are all good to our parents and love them everyday then inshallah our children will love us.

Can I ask you lot a favour,ok,how is it like to have the love of grandparents because I never got their love,my mums parents and dads parents died before I was born? :D

It hurt me when my dad said that as a child his parents used to say that my dad was so special,he would pick up mud off the ground and it would turn to gold. :D :D

My parents are both like friends to me,mashallah and I wonder how my grandparents would have been?

I heard that my grandparents helped everyone, from relatives to people living near them and that they were great people,if only I could say to them that I love them, that would make my day,if only! Some things aint supposed to be and I guess me seeing my grandparents was not in Allah's plans.

masooma aunty, may Allah reward you for the hardship you went through and may Allah give your dad a long and healthy life,Ameen!

May Allah give all our parents a long and healthy life,Ameen!
