I wager £10 that we won't see israelis or Jews going on riots, burning cars and smashing up buildings.
On top of this, it'll be a 'no news' article because they won't respond.
I think I've seen in someone's signature a Surah saying (effectively) 'do to others what you would have done to you'.... nice to know people are taking this to heart (sarcasm)

Of course israelis won't go to the streets the cartoons show what israelis really do, they destroy Palestinian houses.
Are you comparing an insult of a prophet and a whole religion to a political cartoon!
Well now I've heard it all.
And why should Jews be irked about this, it has nothing to do with Judaism.

you could go about makin gpictures about Musharaf or anyone and no one will care! i mean i have personally seen tones of cartoons about Muslims and many of them are insulting but you dont see us on the street for them!
rather we just ignore them...
this is why i was saying it was a stupid move, now poeple will start to make comparison that the holocoust and the Prophet [insult] is the same to us!

I didn't get you.
We shouldn't have cared they insulted the prophet
Anyhow...I don't want to go into this here since it would be off topic.

Sorry i think i wass unclear there..
i meant to say that we Do care and we will care about our beloved Prophet
I was just saying that this contest just seems like... like someone slaps you, you do something to get even right? Well this is like they hit us with a nuke and we abused them in return
this would give the message that this is the level we care about our Prophet
hope that was clear....

Oh I see what you mean bro noxiouspython. Well yes, I guess it was more than a tit for tat thing; they wanted to see how the ones telling us we shouldn't get mad about the cartoons and that it is freedom of speech they would say the same about this contest.

these cartoons are completely different-- they are criticizing a state's policy and not a religion. if it insulted moses or w/e then i would be offended myself! many jews are against zionism. this is a responsible use of the freedom of speech. as mentioned before, you are free to criticize the dictators of the muslim countries and nobody would care.
peace
Why is religion above ridicule? I can understand that if you believe in a certain faith, then you shouldn't ridicule it yourself but why should others be forced to stick to this. They may choose to be curteous, but there is no reason for me to respect the beliefs of a scientologist or a mormon or a christian. Why not make fun of ridiculous aspects of a religion?
I may hold certain things to be sacred but I don't expect everyone to agree or even place my beliefs on a pedestal and out of bounds of satire. I mean you say it is ok to ridicule a state but not a religion. What possible arguments can you have for placing one arbitrary grouping of people above another in suc a way?
