Where did you get all that from? The true text is:We have honoured the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of our creation.1. Respect and honour all human beings irrespective of their religion, color, race, sex, language, status, property, birth, profession/job and so on [17/70]
True text: O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and (always) say a word directed to the Right:2. Talk straight, to the point, without any ambiguity or deception [33/70]
033.071: That He may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you your sins: He that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the highest achievement.
Your post has broken this order; it is deceitful as it is not an accurate transcription.
True text: Say to My servants that they should (only) say those things that are best: for Satan doth sow dissensions among them: For Satan is to man an avowed enemy.3. Choose best words to speak and say them in the best possible way [17/53, 2/83]
True text: And remember We took a covenant from the Children of israel (to this effect): Worship none but Allah; treat with kindness your parents and kindred, and orphans and those in need; speak fair to the people; be steadfast in prayer; and practise regular charity. Then did ye turn back, except a few among you, and ye backslide (even now).
No doubt the remains of your list are way off the true text also.
Have any of you people actually read the Qur'an?

The copies of the Quran try their best to bring out the meaning of what the verse intended. If you read a commentary the Prophet, saws, has made the verses explicit.

No, not really.Do the verses not mean the same thing but are worded differently?
Is the Qur'an not the word of Allah and therefore perfect and infallible?
Think about that for a moment....
A a Muslim you have to believe that is true because the whole of Islamic faith is founded on it.
Now take the first item in the list: Respect and honour all human beings irrespective of their religion, color, race, sex, language, status, property, birth, profession/job and so on
Had Allah meant that the following were included for respect and honour:
- religion
- color
- race
- sex
- language
- status
- property
- birth
- profession/job
then would he not have listed some if not all of them to prevent any possible confusion?
To say that Islam honours and respects other religions is possibly the most ridiculous thing the original poster could have written. At best Islam tolerates other religions. Non-Muslims are Kafir and should be converted, driven out of Muslim lands, killed, enslaved or if they are lucky be subjected to Jizya. I am not making these up, if you don't believe me then go and read the Qur'an and Hadith.
Did you know that many Islamic states don't even allow religious books (besides Islamic ones of course) to be carried over their borders or reproduced on their soil? Would you call that religious tolerance?

It is also important to apply verses to cases they apply to. Youu are in doubt and go seek other doubters to argue with.

I think you are ignorant. And I didn't submitt myself to Allah because Islam is such a simple sweet religion. I love Islam because it is serious and strict. I follow Orthodox Islam, the only reason I'm not an extrimist is because I'm not allowed to be one. Take that.
I submitt myselt to whatever Islam teaches.

Most of what has been rephrased for quick understanding is correct. Everyone can learn from it and be guided by it and the result would be a greater understanding of the Lord among all of humanity...inshaa_allaah.
I was just wondering why all the quotes have come to an end.

I think what Canacolin isn't wrong, because I've checked Qur'an myself and the words aren't like that. But then again, the title of this thread is 'words of wisdom' not 'Wise verses in AlQur'an' so I guess what Mehnaz is trying to say is not the 'verses' but rather the wisdom itself. I mean, the list that was written above has the wise point which can be learned from Al-Qur'an, from the verses that were mentioned. So I conclude that the words may not be the same, because they indeed aren't. And it's not that AlQur'an is written in many ways
[at]Jaballi Abdul Assalamualaykum, I hope this will help. You can simply look around you and start to think, that there's always a creator of this world. Nature, sky, water, animals, human, all the things that exist. The mechanical of worlds, how the life works, even the humans. Everything must NOT have been created by nothing. And surely Allah is the best creator. So I think it's one of the proof that there's Allah
Wassalam,
