Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, [and] the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not -- light upon light -- Allah guides to His light whom He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all things.

a´salamualaikum, these are two of my favorite ayas
(tranlation of the meaning ) sura 10:25,26: Allah (swt ) calls to home of peace and guides who he wills to the Straight Path.
For those who have done good is the best and even more. Neither darkness nor dusts nor any humiliating digrace shall cover their facees. They are the dwellers of Paradise, they will abide therein forever.

And i find the whole Sura Ar - Rahman ( 55 ) very strenthening. :D

This surah has made me cry more than once:

Chapter 95:

By the fig, and the olive.
By Mount Sinai.
By Makkah.
We have created man in the best stature (mold)
Then we reduced him to the lowest of the low.

Except for the true believers of Islamic Monotheism. For them, there shall be an endless reward (paradise)

So, what causes you to deny the day of Ressurection, isn't Allah (SWT) the best of judges?

The part from Except and forward just chills my bones when I realize how nice Allah is, and thinking of an endless reward makes me cry.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Peace be upon those who believe and adhere to the Truth!!

How can you have a favourite verse? I been thinking for the last 15 minutes and
I am spoilt for choice...Indeed the best speech is of Allah.

I guess we need to sit back and reflect and see how these verses that we read, hear and understand effect us? Do they strengthen our emaan? Do they compel us to ordain and do righteous acts and refrain from evil deeds?

I personally consider each Qur’anic verse to be unique and special, and each verse has its own significance,time and place relative to us,for verily the Kalam of Allah is Eternal like Allah, the Most High and Mighty. But I guess at this moment, as I consider the greatness of Allah, this verse crosses my mind:

Ayat al-Kursi

Allah! There is no God but He,
the Living, the Self-subsisting, the Eternal.
No slumber can seize Him, nor sleep.
All things in heaven and earth are His.
Who could intercede in His presence without His permission?
He knows what appears in front of and behind His creatures.
Nor can they encompass any knowledge of Him except what he wills.
His throne extends over the heavens and the earth,
and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them,
for He is the Highest and Most Exalted.

Subhan'Allah :D !! Saddaqallah hul Azim!!

Ayat al-Kursi are one of my favorites as well....they're Subhan'Allah so powerful. Also the whole Surah of Al-Ikhlas is one of my favorite:

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

112:1 Say: He is God, the One and Only;
112:2 God, the Eternal, Absolute;
112:3 He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
112:4 And there is none like unto Him.

Every time I read or hear the Surah At-Takwir (The Folding Up), my soul trembles. I'd try to imagine how it would feel to be resurrected and witness all the crazy things happening around myself. The Surah is just intense. Here is an excerpt:

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

81:1 When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up;
81:2 When the stars fall, losing their lustre;
81:3 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage);
81:4 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended;
81:5 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations);
81:6 When the oceans boil over with a swell;
81:7 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like);
81:8 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned -
81:9 For what crime she was killed;
81:10 When the scrolls are laid open;
81:11 When the world on High is unveiled;
81:12 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat;
81:13 And when the Garden is brought near;-
81:14 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward.
...

Wassalam!

I can think of no verses from the quran that I like better then one another but this is a translation of a verse that I remember everyday.

Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people [Taubah:14]

Every aya sent down is a mercy and a blessing. However, some stick in my mind more than others...a lot of the ones i was going to put have already been posted, and since i do not have that much time, i will just put a couple of ayaat. Insha Allah, later, when i'm more free, i'll write a bit more than "a couple". :P :D

75. He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,-

76. "Ye and your fathers before you?-

77. "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds;

78. "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me;

79. "Who gives me food and drink,

80. "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me;

81. "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again);

82. "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment.

83. "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous;

84. "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations);

85. "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss;

86. "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray;

I love this ayat. Surah tawba :111

111. Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.
