asSalaamu'alaykum. I wonder why is the process of Passport Checking in Jiddah Airport run so slow? Is the use of arabic letters in a computer system can be one of the reason? . Millions of muslimin have to checked after having a long time fly to perform hajj. Masya Allahu kana.

I had it in hajj 1426H/2006Masihi/christ season, for 190,000 indonesian - regular package - they reserved a special gate, old building looked more to fish market rather than Religious airPort as in their jargon. We're treated like as beggars than as guests of Allah (S.waTa'ala). astaghfirullah.

Subhanallah. ... Logically, in hajj season the peak of network could slowing down the performance of the computer system. My group consists of 450 people using chartered australian boeing 747. Entering some opened lines where more lines closed. I saw they're using IBM terminals. Did you see it's faster in low season?

As i said earlier, we're part of the regular package consisting of 190,000 people, by 480 special chartered flights, entering through "reserved" building, while the special package, 20,000 people using regular flights. We can imagine how crowded, the traffic of people, and as also as the traffic of data passport on the network. It's all for obeying the call for hajj. Allahu akbar.

wa'alaykum salaam,

thanks for replying.
we came with a boing 747 (special chartered for hajj) consisting 450 in jama'ah.
After 10 hours flight from Jakarta, we're so tired and have to be checked like as leissure tourist.
As we know, mostly were old age jama'ah who can go after saving money in many years.
We're told that we're guest of Allah SWT.

wa'alaykum salaam,
at the "tent", but after passport checking in a dirty building which actualy had many lines with the IBM computer terminals, only view open that make longer queue in line meant longer time for checking.
Masya Allahu kana.
We should report it to amirul mu'minin.

Brother i worked there , i am not sure what the problem was at the time of your arrival but it usually goes very fast especially at Hajj time since they need to move the pilgrims swiftly to their buses.

Insha'Allah khair brother you will get the ajr ( reward) of the hardship and patience Insha'Allah , you could have given a complaint to the airport officials at the time though.

Which section/department you work brother?
alHamdulillah,
hope you could have an effort to use a stop watch to check how many minutes needed in hajj/peak season and normal season.

I worked with the Agents office who receive the hujaj , but i was there on the ground and know how the system goes , usually its fast , what happened to you was probably just a Test from Allah SWT for your patience akhi .

No hajj or Umrah is complete without you being tested for that , i think thats part of the whole idea .

wa'alaykum salaam,
thanks akhi for the enlightment.
And as we discuss in the "computer room", hopefully some one could help to give us fact from technology view, like as using stop watch to count how many persons per minute. (I'am a retired manager of a hotel computer system and do have experience about networking).
Jazakallahu wassalaam.

But because that time I didn't find any discussion about hajj then I went for surfing and found this forum.
After many years I go back to Ummah(contact admin if its a beneficial link) to see what's going on and find there are so many discussion about hajj.

One of the thread, I think it had a relation with using the barcodes that make the passport checking looks like slowlier.
