I am trying to learn more surah but it is difficult as I have extremely limited internet. Right now I only have memorized surah al-fatiha and surah al-inklas.

My local masjid has pretty much said to do your own research but I have such limited resources I don't really know where to go to begin to learn.

As-salamu 'alaikum wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh

You might download mp3's from the following site:

My suggestion is to take it easy since you are a new Muslim and you don't know Arabic. Get used to listening to Surahs at first.

The above is the recitation of Shaikh Mahmud Khalil al-Husari (rah) whose recitation is very authoritative. Perfect pronounciation.

Just don't get discouraged. The Prophet (pbuh) said that the one who stammers with the Qur'an will receive two rewards in comparison to the one who recites it perfectly, as an encouragement.

Try to read transliterations. (Though you must depend on the audio since transliterations can sound very weird sometimes if they are pronounced by somebody who knows no Arabic). Try to learn Arabic.

Lastly, don't get discouraged.

May God make it easy for you.

Yeah my problem is limited internet access. I am of limited means, financially. So, I don't have an mp3 player. My laptop is presently in a pawn shop, that is how limited I am financially. The only reason I am online right now is because I am at the library.

Masha Allah, you are very determined in pursuit in your quest for knowledge despite your bad situation. May God provide you with ease.

Maybe you could go to the mosque and ask that they play a recitation of the Qur'an. A lot of masjids have CD-players and they play the Qur'an. Of course not every masjid is the same.

Try to befriend Muslims who know the Qur'an or can lend you a mp3-player or who have one and sit with them.

May God help you.

Assalamualikum, brother there are many organizations that are working in this field, they will ship the quran, or CD's to your house? Where do you live? Do an online search, when there is a will, there is a way.

I was looking at this website they send a lot of stuff, Islamic books shipped to your house. And regarding MP3's, we'll try to find you something for that too Inshallah.
