  2. Voltaire on Islam

Taken from Voltaire’s Philosophical Dictionary “I tell you again, ignorant imbeciles, whom other ignoramuses have made believe that the Mohammedan religion is voluptuous and sensual, there is not a word of truth in it; you have been deceived on this point as on so many others. Canons, monks, vicars even, if a law were imposed on you not to eat or drink from four in the morning till ten at night, during the month of July, when Lent came at this period; if you were forbidden to play at any game of chance under pain of damnation; if wine were forbidden you under the same pain; if you had to make a pilgrimage into the burning desert; if it were enjoined on you to give at least two and a half per cent. of your income to the poor; if, accustomed to enjoy possession of eighteen women, the number were cut down suddenly by fourteen; honestly, would you dare call that religion sensual?" https://islamicnafahat.wordpress.com/2019/10/20/voltaire-on-islam/

This is all true - unless you are facing Qadiyani/Ahmedis.. we must believe they are..
  8. mix-gender prayers?

So there are couple of Masjids that have started to do this. Personally I dont think this is a good thing. Allah has created us different, and as humans we have feelings etc. and it might get in the way of worship.. The only excuse they use is Aisha (ra) did it once or few times? I always find this fascinating myself as to why she lead the prayer and no other man? and if indeed she read it why is it not applicable?
  9. i am late to this topic. and i hope i am not lying (ie cant recall exactly) but quite few years back i had couple of times where I thought Allah was speaking or so I thought. I cant remember the dream exactly, but i know it was either qiyamat time and the sun was very near (i actually at that point in dream REALISED it was qiyamat time) but i cant remember what was said and i dont want to try to rmeember just i ncase i get it wrong.. but i havent had it since.. maybe I am not worthy anymore.. :(
  10. we are still fighting, we are going away from religion and taking western immodest/immoral customs.. and when we go to the west (as refugees) we slate/fight/etc and commits heinous sins and the people in the west then start to hate us.. I regularly hear about attacks by muslims in sweden or other nordic countries which gives ammunition to the racists Islamophobes.. why are people not following the religion anymore? (i know we are all humans and sometimes we get astrayed but still..)
  11. My sister is drinking alcohol and hugging men

this is happening because our own countries are a mess so we go abroad and then become acustomed to the western lifestyle because it encourages you to follow your lusts and desires.. which is an easy thing to follow. I am not sure what you should do. if you confront her, you would have broken her trust and she might not share her passwords etc with you again. if you are in university/near her then try to keep an eye? or maybe suggest going out or w/e so she doesnt stray?
  12. Wife's visa problem in UK

As-Salam alaiukum So i have just joined because i have a problem. So I got married from pakistan around 4 years ago and submitted her papers and she's been here for 2 years. now you have to re-submit application every 2 years. which we did but stupidly my wife and my sister decided that the test she needs to do is English A1 test and not A2 and on this basis they rejected the application. the icing on the cake is that A1 and A2 tests are same with a difference of 1 minute extra speaking for A2.. apparently they changed the requirement in 2016 but my sister says when she was checking on website it said A1... Now i do have a lawyer friend who said i shouldnt mention my mistake in the appeal and he has given me some stuff to say (regarding violating my human rights etc) . but i am not sure about the way he is going about it? so i thought i would ask for a 2nd opinion. Is it really that risky to mention that yes we made amistake but within 14 days appear period we have done the A2 test? and surely if it was just that they could be lenient slightly and should have given us a bit more time?
  13. If we talk about Ayah having unknown meaning, then it's first Ayah of Surah Taha having just 2 independent harf. I think.
  14. People across the globe believe that shia and sunni are the two different sects. Both of the sects have different religious beliefs, therefore it has been understood by people that they cannot come under the same umbrella ‘Islam’. Many people have this faith that due to the entirely different conduct of life, shia and sunni cannot marry with each other. However, before making such bold claims, complete research is very important to know the reality. So, before marrying with a shia man or woman, one must know that there are two types of shias: One of the types of shia holds disbeliefs (kufr), that the Quran has been altered, Hazrat Ali (R.A) is worthy to worship and here Shirk (to worship someone other than Allah) occurs, the angel Jibril made an error in descending the revelation on the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H) in place of Hazrat Ali (R.A), accusations on Hazrat Aisha (R.A) of committing adultery or denying the Companionship Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A). However, the another type of shias are those who do not hold beliefs that constitute Kufr, such as believing that Hazrat Ali (R.A) was the rightful first Caliph after the demise of the Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H), belief in the twelve Imams, and all those beliefs which the first type of shias put faith in. A true Muslim has asked by Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H) that before marrying, Muslim must need to check the religious beliefs, and religious practices in his/her partner. There is a Hadith in Sahih Bukhari that Messenger of Allah has said: "A woman is married for four reasons, her wealth, lineage, status and Deen. Choose the one who is religious." (Sahih Bukhari) Even then we being humans do not know that what faiths are hidden in the chest of people and what they are pretending, indeed! Allah knows the truth only. And so, we should avoid those things where we find doubts or dissatisfaction. If we go for things which are doubtful then we are tangling ourselves deliberately in the chaos.
  15. Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. I've decided to create YouTube channel where I use my video editing to create engaging Islamic videos. Convert existing talks of scholars and overlay with videos to make it more entertaining to watch and learn. I wanted to also try creating Surah videos with beautiful background scenery which would be relaxing. Here's first few videos I've made. Would appreciate support, let me know if you found them useful. Want to know the good, the bad, and the ugly. Here's video on Importance of Ayatul Kursi: Surah Nas: Why Life can be difficult, why Jannah is a challenge worth fighting for.
  16. Assalamualaikum Everyone, I recently started an Islamic blog this year to research, teach and learn about Islam. The journey thus far has been quite rewarding. Made learning so much more fun being able to teach others as well. More engaging. Would like to share the Prophet biographies, stories based off Quran and Tafsir of Ibn Kathir to those interested. Story of Prophet Yusuf in Islam I found his story very inspirational. Yusuf (Joseph) had a vision that he would Prophet. But yet his life was filled with had adversity, nothing seemed to go his way.He was backstabbed by his brothers, sold as slave, and unjustly imprisoned. Yusuf could have chosen to be bitter and question his fate. He could have easily complained “why do these things keep happening to me?” as many of us would. But he knew better… There is a full surah in the Quran that mentions complete story. Read Surah Yusuf Here: https://myislam.org/surah-yusuf-transliteration/ We covered around 10 stories of the Prophets thus far. Working on completing all 25 inshallah. __________ Ayatul Kursi. We all likely know this ayah by heart. But I didn't know the English translation, meaning, benefits to reciting this ayah at all. Why is this ayah so important? This is what I hoped to answer in the article: https://myislam.org/ayatul-kursi-english/

  19. Ayat 14, Surat Ta-Ha.

As-Salaam alaikum, In Ayat 14 of Surat TA-HA of the Holy Qur'an (20:14), Allah Ta'ala says:-- "VERILY, I AM GOD: THERE IS NO god BUT I, SO SERVE ME (only), AND ESTABLISH REGULAR (Sallat) PRAYER FOR CELEBRATING MY PRAISE (Zikr)." Establishing Sallat means having spiritual connection with Allah and observing Him in the heart, as the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:-- "There is no Sallat without the presence of heart (before Allah)." When saying/performing our Sallat with presence of heart, our organs are busy in bowing and prostrating, the tongue will be reciting the Qur'an but the heart is engrossed in the Remembrance and Vision of Allah, Azzah-Wa-Jallah.

  23. The history of the messengers: Moses The killing of the sons of Mosesnation The children of Israel carefully considered what had been said among themselves, generation after another, about Prophet Abraham (pbuh): that from his descendants there would emerge a boy who would cause the fall of the king of Egypt. This news was so well-known among the children of Israel that it reached the Pharaoh, after being mentioned to him by some of his princes. As a result and a precautionary measure, Pharaoh ordered that the sons of the children of Israel be killed to prevent such a boy from ever existing. Under the rule of Pharaoh, the children of Israel lived in oppression and injustice. {Verily, Fir’aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening (oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them, killing their sons, and letting their females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidûn (i.e. those who commit great sins and crimes, oppressors, tyrants, etc.).{ (Al-Qasas:4) Allah wanted to bless the besieged children of Israel. 5. And We wished to do a favour to those who were weak (and oppressed) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors, 6. And to establish them in the land, and We let Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and Hâmân and their hosts receive from them that which they feared.(Al-Qasas:5-6) The story of his birth and upbringing Pharaoh was extremely careful in ensuring that Moses would not be born, to the extent that he ordered his minions and midwives to circulate and ask pregnant women about their due dates; so the moment a male was born, he was immediately slaughtered by his butchers. However Allah wanted to show Pharaoh, Haman and their soldiers that which they feared, and when the mother of Moses gave birth to him, she knew she had to dispose of him or he would be slaughtered. {And We inspired the mother of Mûsa (Moses), (saying): “Suckle him [Mûsa (Moses)], but when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Verily! We shall bring him back to you, and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers.”}(Al-Qasas:7) https://www.path-2-happiness.com/en/the-path-to-happiness-messengers-and-prophets-the-history-of-the-messengers-moses
  24. Characteristics of the Islamic legislation A divine source The source of the Islamic religion is the Great Creator, Allah, who created man and the universe and all that it contains. Having a divine source affords it numerous advantages, including one of them being that Allah is the Creator and the Sustainer, so He Alone owns the right to legislate. Moreover, prophets and their followers referred legislation back to Allah alone, and rejected all other legislations. Allah states what the seal of the prophets and messengers (pbuh) used to say about Allah’s legislation: {Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu ‘alayhi wa sallam]): “I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allâh, i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner.”}(Al-Ahqâf:9) The Islamic Shari’ah applies to all of Allah’s creation, and that includes the Messenger of Allah, despite his high status and position of honor with Allah, since he too follows the laws that Allah revealed to him, and he was not an innovator. He followed Allah’s way and did nothing to contradict it. The fact that Allah is The Creator means that He knows best those who He created. He says: {Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves), the Well-Acquainted (with everything).}(al-Mulk:14) He knows the natural disposition of His slaves, what reforms and what corrupts them, and what benefits and what harms them. None but the maker knows best about what he made. Allah says: {Say, “Do you know better or does Allâh (know better ... that they all were Muslims)?”}(al-Baqarah:140) https://www.path-2-happiness.com/en/the-path-to-happiness-the-remaining-message-characteristics-of-the-islamic-legislation
  25. What is happiness? What, then, is this happiness, and how does one achieve happiness?! Happiness is the constant feeling of elation, tranquility, generosity and joy. This feeling of contentment comes as a result of always having three states: one’s self being in a good state, one’s life being good, and expecting that one’s final abode will be good. With regards to these three states, man starts by asking questions about the self. These questions grow larger as he grows older, and he does not find happiness until he answers the questions which come to his mind: • Who owns this universe and controls all its affairs? • Who created me and created this universe around me? • Who am I? Where do I come from? Why was I created? Where will my destiny take me? https://www.path-2-happiness.com/en/all-people-are-looking-for-happiness-so-where-is-the-path
  26. 1- Emission of Semen It is a thick white liquid which exits in spurts due to sexual stimulation and is followed by a loss of strength. Its scent resembles that of a rotten egg. The need for a ghusl is stated in Allah’s saying: “If you are in a state of janaba (ritual impurity), purify yourself (bathe your whole body).”(Al-Ma’idah:6) And the Prophet’s ﷺ saying: “When you ejaculate, take a ghusl.” [ narrated by Abu Dawud.] Points for Discussion 1- If a person has a wet dream yet doesn’t ejaculate, he does not have to make ghusl. 2- If he wakes up and doesn’t remember having a wet dream, yet he finds semen on himself, clothes, bed, etc. he must take a ghusl. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Water is only from water.” [ narrated by Muslim.] In other words the emission of semen - willfully or unwillfully - necessitates a ghusl. 3- If he feels semen moving in his penis, yet it does not exit, he does not have to make a ghusl. 4- If it exits due to some sort of sickness and not from sexual stimulation, then he does not have to take a ghusl. 5- If his state necessitated a ghusl, and he took a ghusl, but then semen exited immediately after the ghusl, he is not obliged to take another ghusl. He only has to make wudu’. 6- When a person wakes up from sleep and notices wetness on his clothes whose cause he can’t remember, then the following three conditions are possible: a) He is sure that the wetness is semen. Then, it is obligatory on him to take a bath, whether he remembers having a wet dream or not. b) He is sure it is not semen. In this case there is no need to take a bath. The ruling thus will be that of urine (i.e. wudu’). c) He doubts whether it is semen or not, he must then examine the situation and recall what took place. If it occurs to him that it is semen, then it is semen. However, if it occurs to him that it was something else, then he considers it to be something else. But if nothing occurs to him, then it is compulsory (on him) to take a bath so that he can avoid any error. 7-If he sees semen on himself, but cannot remember when it was produced, it is compulsory to take a bath and repeat the Salah (prayer) from the last time he slept. 2. Sexual Intercourse It is the meeting of the male and the female sexual organs. This is by the insertion of the head of the male’s penis into the female’s vagina. This is sexual intercourse even if ejaculation doesn’t occur. The Prophet ﷺ said: “When the circumcised penetrates the circumcised, bathing is compulsory.” [ narrated by At-Tirmidhi.] 3. When a non-believer becomes a Muslim This is because “the Prophet ﷺ ordered Qais Ibn ‘Asim t to take a bath when he became a muslim.” [ narrated by Abu Dawud.] 4. At The End of a Menstrual Cycle or Post-natal Bleeding This is in accordance with the hadeeth related by A’ishah (may Allah be pleased him), when the Prophet ﷺ told Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh: “When menstruation starts (you should) stop praying, and when it leaves, take a (purificatory) bath, then start praying again.” [ agreed upon.] It’s the consensus of the scholars of Islam that post-natal bleeding is like menstruation. 5. Death This is according to the statement of the Prophet ﷺ when he told those preparing Zaynab (his daughter) for burial: “Wash her three times, five times or more if you think (it is necessary).” [ agreed upon.]
