Has anyone on here been treated super badly by the Ummah? In what way? How do you overcome the sense of betrayal and the sense of being "kicked out" by your own Ummah? I asked some advanced questions about the deen and other sects of Islam (not because I wanted to join the sect, I just wanted some clarification about their teachings and how to do dawah to them) and I was treated like a spy/troublemaker. I ended up in tears... no one has ever treated me that way before and everyone involved knows I've only been a Muslim for a year and I have Autism. Now I understand the quote: "I'm glad I found Islam before I met the Ummah." It's super discouraging. In all my life I've never been treated so badly. (P.S. to the mod(s) I accidentally posted this first to the controversial issue section not knowing it was about fiqh. I'm sorry about that.I'm new here so I don't know my way around this site yet My bad.)

Islam has taught us live a balanced life with moderate attitude. No one is asked to take extreme actions in Islam. One can observe that the true Muslims are living a peaceful life. Therefore associating any type of radicalism with Islam is unjustifiable. Sacred teachings of the Holy Quran have taught to live in peace.

Joram van Klaveren is the second ex-PVV politician to convert. A former member of Geert Wilders’ far-right Dutch party announced Monday that he has converted to Islam. Joram Van Klaveren said he made the switch from critic to convert while writing a book about Islam. “During that writing I came across more and more things that made my view on Islam falter,” he told Dutch radio. Van Klaveren was a member of parliament for the Freedom Party (PVV) from 2010 to 2014, but quit the party after Wilders’ asked supporters during a rally in 2014 if they wanted more or fewer Moroccans in the Netherlands, to which the crowd chanted “Fewer! Fewer! Fewer!” After leaving the PVV, Van Klaveren set up his own party, For Netherlands, but failed to win a seat in the 2017 national election and quit politics. Van Klaveren was a harsh critic of Islam during his time as PVV politician, saying “Islam is a lie” and “The Quran is poison,” newspaper NRC reported. Asked in the newspaper interview if he feels guilty about these statements, Van Klaveren said he had been “simply wrong,” adding that it was “PVV policy: everything that was wrong had to be linked to Islam in one way or another.” Arnoud van Doorn, a former PVV official, was an earlier convert to Islam. Van Doorn congratulated Van Klaveren on his decision via Twitter, writing: “ never thought that the PVV would become a breeding ground for converts.” https://islamicnafahat.wordpress.com/2019/02/05/van-klaveren-dutch-former-anti-muslim-politician-converts-to-islam/

God Attributes in Bible and Quran Does God Forget ? Does God Sleep ? Can anyone in this life see God face to face ?! Does God Need to Refresh ?! Does God order people to commit sins ? Does God Knows everything happening ? Does God regret ? Does God Forget ? Bible : Why do you forget us forever, why do you so long forsake us? [Lam. 5:20] How long O Lord ? will you forget me forever. [Psalm 13:1] Quran : (The angels say:) "We descend not but by command of thy Lord: to Him belongeth what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between: and thy Lord never doth forget " [Quran 19:64] Does God Sleep ? Bible : Awake, why do you sleep, O Lord? [Psalm. 4:23] Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouts by reason of wine. [Psalm. 4:23] Quran : Allah! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory). [Quran 2:255] Can anyone in this life see God face to face ?! Bible : Jacob wrestled God who said to him, "Let me go; for the day is breaking" But Jacob said, "I will not let you go unless you bless me. And he said to him,"What is your name? And he said "Jacob" Then the Lord said, "Your name shall be no more called Jacob but israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed. Then Jacob asked him, "Tell me, I pray your name. But he said, "Why is it that youask my name? And there he blessed him. So Jacob called the name of the place "Pen'el" saying: For I have seen God face to face." [Gen. 32:22] Quran : No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things. [Quran 6:103] When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: "O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee." Allah said: "By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look upon the mount; if it abide in its place, then shalt thou see Me." When his Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe." [Quran 7:143] Does God Need to Refresh ?! Bible : For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where are thou? [Gen. 3:8,9] Quran : With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read). [Quran 6:59] Does God regret ? Bible : And the Lord was sorry that he made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. [he said]: "For I am sorry that I have made them." [Gen 6:6,7] Quran : The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all. Bible : When the Lord first spoke to Hose'a he said to him, "GO TAKE TO YOURSELF A WIFE OF HARLOTRY and have children of harlotry, for the land has committed great harlotry by forsaking the Lord." [Hos. 1:2] God said to the children of israel, "Every woman shall BORROW of her neighbour jewels of silver and gold, and remaint, and you shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters and you shall spoil the Egyptians. [Exo. 3:22] So they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels and remaint: And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians. As-Salaam alaikum, In ayat 16 of Surat Sajdah of the Holy Qur'an (32:16), Allah Ta'ala says:-- "THEIR SIDES FORSAKE THEIR BEDS." This is in reference to those servants of Allah who engage in the voluntary prayer(s) in the night. This is the same prayer about which the Noble Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:-- "Hold fast to night prayer, for it was the way of the righteous before you, a way of drawing closer to your Lord, an expiation for wrong deeds, and a shield from sin." [Tirmidhi]. "Qiyam" literally means standing up, particularly after sleeping, just as we say... 'YUOM AL-QIYAMH' for Day of Judgement as we rise to stand before Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, after much rest in our graves. That is why sleep is like a daily death, and Qiyam is to rise from it. Whoever stands the night in prayer, Allah will make easy for him in standing on the Day of Judgement, as some of our 'Ulam observe. Sayyadi Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, also advised, "Whoever loves to find the long standing of the day of Resurrection less difficult should show himself to Allah in the darkness of the night prostrating and standing, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for Mercy of his Lord." In view of this, we should all resolve to be offering the voluntary night prayer, otherwise known as Tahajjud, ... every night, for the rest of our life in this world. Best Wishes.

The Quran is in every detail the unique and miraculous text which was revealed to Muhammad fourteen centuries ago. Not one word of its 114 chapters has been changed over the centuries. The Quran deals with all topics which concern us as human beings: wisdom, doctrine, worship, and law, but its basic theme is the relationship between God and His creatures.

SPAIN LIBERATED FROM TYRANNY Muslims landed in Spain in 711 CE and many sources testify that they were welcomed by the population, as their reputation preceded them. This was, again, due to the severe persecution certain communities were facing therein. Under the Catholic Church’s rule, the Jewish community, in particular, was severely oppressed. The Catholic hierarchy in Spain held many councils to solve political and religious disputes and in these councils, severe edicts were issued against the Jews of Spain. One of the clauses in the text of the proceedings of the Fourth Council of Toledo (633 CE) states: “We decree that the sons and daughters of the Jews should be separated from the company of their parents in order that they should not become further entangled in their deviation, and entrusted either to monasteries or to Christian, God fearing men and women, in order that they should learn from their way of life to venerate the faith and, educated on better things, progress in their morals as well as their faith.' Hence, the children of the Jews were to be forcefully converted to Catholicism. Jews weren’t the only ones facing tyranny but they were easy targets due to them being a minority and having a way of life that was distinct from their Christian persecutors. So, when the Muslims arrived, Jews were the first people to greet them as saviours. Zion Zohar, a Jewish American historian, confirms the appreciation that Jews felt for the Muslim arrival: “Thus, when Muslims crossed the straits of Gibraltar from North Africa in 711 CE and invaded the Iberian Peninsula, Jews welcomed them as liberators from Christian Persecution.”

As-Salaam alaikum, In Ayat 4 of Surat Qalam of the Holy Qur'an (68:4), Allah Ta'ala, speaking about His Noble Messenger, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, says:-- "SURELY, YOU ARE UPON A TREMENDOUS CHARACTER (Khuluq azeem)" When Sayyada A'isha, may Allah be pleased with her, was asked about the character of the Messenger of Allah, she answered: "His character was the Qur'an." She said that because he was unique in character and that unique character had to bring together all noble character traits. Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, described that character as being "tremendous" just as He described the Qur'an in His words, "the tremendous Qur'an" (15:87). So, the Qur'an is his character, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam. If a person in the Community of the Messenger who has not met the Messenger of Allah desires to see him, let him look upon the Qur'an. When he looks upon it, there is no difference between looking upon it and looking upon Allah's Messenger. It is as if the Qur'an takes the configuration of a corporeal form which is named Muhammad Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abd al-Muttalib. The Qur'an is Allah's Speech and His Attributes, so Muhammad in his entirety is the attribute of Allah, "So he who obeys the Messenger, has obeyed Allah"- (4:80), since "He does not speak out of caprice" (53:3)...Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam.

As-Salaam alaykum, Do you love Allah, the Lord of the Universe? Of course we do... Let us be permanently in that Loving condition. How can we do/achieve that? In that regards, consider this Noble verse or Ayat of the Holy Qur'an where Allah Himself says:-- "Say (O Muhammad): If you love Allah, then follow me. Allah will love you and forgive you your sins". (3:31) This Ayat is an order on our obligation to believe in, obey and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, and to leave what contradicts it in words and action/deeds. If we/you claim love for Allah, Most High Lord of the Cosmos, and if we/you desire His affection, "then follow me" in what has manifested from my Shari'a, my spiritual path and spiritual realities.. the Prophet was commanded to say to us all. Having done/observed that, "Allah will love you", ie He will be pleased and content with you and lift the veils from your hearts;..... "and forgive you your sins", ie all your faults. This Noble Ayat answers those from the Jews, Christians and others who resemble them among Muslims, who neglect the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, outwardly and inwardly, who claim that they are lovers of Allah and are the sole recipients of His love. However, Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, is the Real Beloved of Allah.

As-Salaam alaikum, Ma'amar Ibn Ahmad al-Asbahani, may Allah be Merciful to him, narrated in his 40 Hadith collection on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said:- The Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, censured us in his khutba. He said:-- "Oh Ummah of Muhammad ! A sage among the sages showed more understanding than you when his companions called him to pleasures and disobedience. He said, 'I am ashamed of my Lord to worship Him, hoping for Paradise as a reward, and therefore be like a bad labourer: if he is given his wage he works, and if he is not given it, he does not work. And I am ashamed of my Lord to worship Him out fear of the Fire and be also like a bad labourer: if he is fearful of his master he works, and if he is not, he does not work. I only worship Him for what He deserves, for He deserves to be worshiped.'

As-Salaam alaikum, The Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, once observed: "You shall not enter Paradise and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I direct you to a thing which, if you do it, it will foster love amongst you? Give currency to 'Assalam alaikum' " [Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith 96 ]. Spreading of peace among one another is much more than the outward greeting of 'Assalam alaikum.....Peace be upon you'. This is just the beginning. When we are truly at peace within ourselves, then we will be spreading that peace to others. This is spreading peace outwardly from within us- for no one will love you except the one that you have given peace to in every one of your/our states. We must believe and feel that both our existence and the existence of whom we greet with 'Assalam alaikum' are by Divine cause.... we exist at His Pleasure, Allahu Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

The books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy in the bible are filled with instructions regarding animal sin offerings. Basically the animals are slaughtered and offered up in place of the penitent sinner. So what we have here is a vicarious (substitution) atonement. I’m wondering what is the Muslim position in this case? I know Muslims assert everyone is responsible for their own sins; there can be no vicarious atonement as Christians claim about Christ’s sacrifice. One of the main reasons the temple was built was for animal sacrifices.

As-Salaam alaikum, In Ayat 28 of Surat Al-Kahf of the Holy Qur'an (18:28), Allah Tabaraka Wa Ta'ala says:-- "AND OBEY NOT HIM WHOSE HEART WE HAVE MADE HEEDLESS OF OUR REMEBRANCE, ONE WHO FOLLOWS HIS OWN LUSTS AND WHOSE AFFAIR HAS BEEN LOST AND WASTED." Indeed, every harm that enters upon a servant is caused by the heart's corruption. For corruption of the heart in turn brings about the removal of the heart's right upon Allah, the Exalted, and a diminution of its disgrace and rank in the sight of Allah. So, be cautious of mixing with people or a person who will cause wastage of time and corruption of the heart. When time is wasted and heart corrupted, all affairs of the servant become ruined.....

Hello, good day and Assalam-Mualaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatu Have you ever wondered where Ayatul-Kursi came from? Or why people say it's powerful? Well, I only heard this when I was 20 years old, but all those other years were wasted because my belief wasn't powerful enough. A long time ago the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) asked one of his Sahaba (close friend) to watch the goods at the camp for the evening whilst everyone rested. This was surely an easy task and the Sahaba complied. Unfortunately, during the even a thief came and attempted to steal something, lucky enough, the Sahaba caught him and threatened that he was going to call the Prophet (SAW). However the man began to cry begging the Sahaba that he needed to steal something so he could get food for his family. Being the softhearted man he was, the Sahaba let him go. The next morning the Prophet asked the Sahaba if anything occurred so the Sahaba explained the commotion. The Prophet (SAW) told him he should be on guard this evening as well. When evening came, the thief appeared once more to try and steal something and you can imagine what happened next. Yes, the thief got caught and pleaded that his family was suffering of hunger. The Sahaba feeling even worse now decided to let the thief go. The following day the Prophet (SAW) asked if anything happened. So indeed the Sahaba explained once more. The Prophet (SAW) then told the Sahaba he would stand once more on guard duty that particular evening. So he did. The Sahaba waited that evening and surprise!! The thief tried to steal AGAIN! So the Sahaba feeling he had no alternative now, told the thief he was taking him to the Prophet (SAW). However, after pleading so unsuccessfully thief told the Sahaba he'd give him a few secret words so POWERFUL nothing could ever touch him, not even the thief if he recited those words. So the Sahaba was SHOCKED and was really really eager to hear what these magic words were. Indeed the thief taught him these words, and in return he was set free, promising never to return. The following day the Prophet (SAW) wanted to know what happened and the Sahaba explained that the theif taught him these magical words that can protect anyone from anything. The Prophet (SAW) then explained that the thief was indeed SATAN(The Devil). Shaytan is the most evil influence to exist yet HE gave us protection against him!!! Ayatul-Kursi can protect you 100%...... only if your belief in it, holds 100% firmly..... Thank you and Jazak-Allah.

Travelling on a plane was a man who was proud of his intelligence. When he discovered that the person sitting next to him was a worker, he suggested they think up some riddles to pass the time. "If you can’t answer mine, you must give me $5," he said. "And if i can’t answer yours, I’ll give you $5, OK?" "NO!" answered the worker, "I’m tired and i want to sleep" "Well a better idea" said the man intensively, "If you can’t answer mine, you must give me $5 and if i can’t answer yours, I’ll give you $10," "Alright" the worker said after a little thinking, "And i will go first". The man agreed. The worker then asked: “What has six feet on the land and only three feet when swimming?" then continued "I sleep, when you find the answer wake me up!" "OK" the man said. He thought for very long time about this, but reluctantly he had to concede defeat. When they reached their destination he woke the worker up and said "here's your $10; what’s the answer?" "I don't know", said the worker; "here's your $5."

The Objectives of the Islamic Penal System Part 5: A discussion of what the legislation of these types of punishment seeks to bring about in a society. The Objectives of the Islamic Penal System The Islamic penal system has many objectives, the most important of which are as follows: The First Objective: Islam seeks to protect society from the dangers of crime. It is common knowledge that if crimes are not countered with serious punishments, then society will be in grave danger. Islam seeks to make social stability and security widespread, making life in society secure and peaceful. It has made this consideration a platform for action, legislating punishments that will discourage crime. This purpose has been articulated by the following verse that discusses retribution and its effects on society: “There is (preservation of) life for you in retribution, O people of understanding, that you may become pious.” (Quran 2:179) If the murderer, or any other criminal for that matter, knows the extent of the negative consequences for himself that his crime will cause, he will think a thousand times before committing it. Awareness of the punishment will cause the criminal to abstain from committing the crime in two ways. The criminal who has already been subject to the punishment will most likely not return to the crime again. As for the rest of society, their awareness of the effects of this punishment will keep them from falling into the crime. To realize a general effect from the punishment, Islam has established the principle of publicly announcing when it will be carried out. God says: “…A group of the believers should witness the punishment.” (Quran 24:2) The Second Objective: Islam seeks to reform the criminal. The Quran often makes mention of repentance in association with the crimes that it deals with, making it clear that the door to repentance is open whenever the criminal abandons his crime and behaves properly. It has made repentance a means of waiving a fixed punishment in some instances, like the punishment for highway robbery. God says: “…except for those who repent before you take hold of them. Then know that God is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Quran 5:34) God says regarding the punishment for fornication: “It they both repent and mend their ways, then leave them alone. Verily, God is the Accepter of repentance, the Merciful.” (Quran 4:16) God says after mentioning the punishment for false accusation: “… except for those who repent afterwards and makes amends, then verily God is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” God says after mentioning the prescribed punishment for theft: “Whoever repents after his wrongdoing and makes amends, then verily God will accept his repentance and verily God is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Quran 5:39) This objective is seen more frequently with regard to discretionary punishments, whereby it is incumbent upon the judge to take into consideration the circumstances of the criminal and what will insure his betterment. The Third Objective: The punishment is a recompense for the crime. It is undesirable to treat a criminal lightly who threatens the security of society with danger. The criminal should receive his just recompense as long as he is pleased with taking the path of evil instead of the path of righteousness. It is the right of society to be secure in its safety and the safety of its individual members. The Quran has asserted this objective when mentioning a number of punishments. God says: “The thieves, male and female, cut off their hands as a recompense for what they have earned...” (Quran 5:38) “The recompense for those who wage violent transgression against God and His Messenger and who go forth spreading corruption in the Earth is that they should be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet should be cut off on alternate sides or that they should be sent into exile…” (Quran 5:33)
