  1. Five times a day from hundreds of thousands of mosques and places of worship the sound of the Adhan (call to prayer) is heard throughout the world, announcing prayers five times a day. The Adhan (call to prayer) is that gentle meaningful alert after which Muslims stop and turn to the Lord, get in touch with Him; thanking Him, remembering Him, bowing down to him in prayer. Instead of using material objects to announce the prayers like a bell or any artificial or digital sound the Islamic Adhan is a human voice carrying a very delicate and passionate message. It has a special formula that affirms the faith in God and is a summary of the message of Islam and the content and nature of its teachings. The Adhan begins with an affirmation of the supremacy and greatness of God. Then comes the Shahadah (Testimony of Faith), which consists of the profession of the unity and oneness of God the negation of shirk (associating other beings/gods with Allah), and the confirmation that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the Messenger of God. After that comes the call to the prayer and to success (in this life and Hereafter) and then rounding it up by praising God again as the great and affirming faith in Him. Each line is repeated for affirmation and emphasis. The words of the Adhan are articulated as follows: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. Ash hadu an la ilaha illa Allah I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Ash hadu an la ilaha illa Allah I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Ash hadu anna Mohammadan rasoolu Allah I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah Ash hadu anna Mohammadan rasoolu Allah I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah Hay `ala as-Salah, hay `ala as-Salah Hasten to the Prayer, hasten to the Prayer Hay `ala al-falah, hay `ala al-falah Hasten to real success, hasten to real success Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. La ilaha illa Allah There is none worthy of worship but Allah. Now listen to the adhan said by Abdul-Baset Abdul-Samad, with its Arabic phrases displaying in beautiful Arabic calligraphy:

  7. Is Wife Beating Allowed In Islam?

CaptainHowdy, This is one of the false claims repeated by the enemies of Islam. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and presume that you have no bad intentions, unless you prove otherwise. Here is the answer to your false claim: ‘answering the false claim that women are oppressed in islam’ (misunderstood hadith) Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 72, Number 715: Narrated 'Ikrima: Rifa'a divorced his wife whereupon 'AbdurRahman bin Az-Zubair Al-Qurazi married her. 'Aisha said that the lady (came), wearing a green veil (and complained to her (Aisha) of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating). It was the habit of ladies to support each other, so when Allah's Apostle came, 'Aisha said, "I have not seen any woman suffering AS MUCH AS THE BELIEVING WOMEN. Look! Her skin IS GREENER THAN HER CLOTHES!." When 'AbdurRahman heard that his wife had gone to the Prophet, he came with his two sons from another wife. She said, "By Allah! I have done no wrong to him but he is impotent and is as useless to me as this," holding and showing the fringe of her garment, 'Abdur-Rahman said, "By Allah, O Allah's Apostle! She has told a lie! I am very strong and can satisfy her but she is disobedient and wants to go back to Rifa'a." Allah's Apostle said, to her, "If that is your intention, then know that it is unlawful for you to remarry Rifa'a unless 'Abdur-Rahman has had sexual intercourse with you." Then the Prophet saw two boys with 'Abdur-Rahman and asked (him), "Are these your sons?" On that 'AbdurRahman said, "Yes." The Prophet said, "You claim what you claim (i.e. that he is impotent)? But by Allah, these boys resemble him as a crow resembles a crow," In the above Hadith, there are few points to notice and mention: 1- The man failed to follow Noble Verse 4:34 which was sent by Allah Almighty to protect women from harmfull men. 2- The woman was trying to get back with her first husband. In Islam, if a woman gets divorced or divorces herself from her husband through the Islamic court by "Khala'", then the only way she can get back with her husband, or her husband gets back to her is by HER MARRYING ANOTHER PERSON, HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH HIM, AND THEN GET A DIVORCE FROM HIM. This is to guarantee that divorce would not be a joke among Muslims. 3- The woman was claiming that her second husband was sexually no good. The husband disputed that, and brought his two sons from another marriage as a proof that he can perform sex. The Prophet peace be upon him then told the woman "by Allah, these boys resemble him as a crow resembles a crow". 4- Aisha's opinion about the woman's bruise doesn't prove or disprove anything. She got angry because she saw another woman badly beaten, which is perfectly fine and acceptable. But her emotions and opinions are not Islamic Verdicts! Many authentic hadith proof that Islam liberated women and made them free. See hadith Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 11, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Number 2138& 2139. In ‘Sahih Muslim, Book 018, Number 4251’ we see that a woman in islam is even allowed to take from her husband's property without his knowledge if he falls below this basic level of supporting her. Also Umar Ibn khattab told the prophet that ‘women had the upperhand over men in Medina in’ in Sahih Bukhari,Volume 7, Book 62, Number 119’ , the prophet showed a smile after hearing this. This clearly proofs that aicha’s reaction was based on emotions, which is normal and perfectly fine. We also have to notice that in pre-islamic (before islam) time women were depressed by the arabs, Islam came to liberate those women and to give them many rights. Unfortunately some muslim men (still today) fail to follow the true message of Islam, instead of this they follow their evil (pagan) cultural practices and customs! , this has nothing to do with Islam! Islam honours women and clearly fobids the cruel beating of wives! Secondly the hadith tells only one part of the incident, it doesn’t mention anything about the decision made by the prophet after this incident , simply because only one part of the story is known and written down. So it’s rediculous to say that Islam and the prophet allowed wife beating, as a matter of fact the opposite is true! Noble Verses and Sayings about the prohibition of wife beating: The following Noble Verses and Sayings from the Noble Quran and Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him respectively seem to very well support the above interpretation: "...Do not retain them (i.e., your wives) to harm them...”(The Noble Quran, 2:231) "If a wife fears cruelty or desertion on her husband's part, there is no blame on them if they arrange an amicable settlement between themselves; and such settlement is best; even though men's souls are swayed by greed. But if ye do good and practise self-restraint, God is well-acquainted with all that ye do.” (The Noble Quran, 4:128) Narrated Mu'awiyah al-Qushayri: "I went to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) and asked him: What do you say (command) about our wives? He replied: Give them food what you have for yourself, and clothe them by which you clothe yourself, and do not beat them, and do not revile them.” (Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 11, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Number 2139) Narrated Mu'awiyah ibn Haydah: "I said: Apostle of Allah, how should we approach our wives and how should we leave them? He replied: Approach your tilth when or how you will, give her (your wife) food when you take food, clothe when you clothe yourself, do not revile her face, and do not beat her.” (Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 11, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Number 2138) "on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and God brings about through it a great deal of good.” (The Noble Quran, 4:19) Riyad as Saliheen, chapter 34, ‘treating women well’ Nr. 279. Iyas ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Dhubab reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Do not beat the female slaves of Allah." Then 'Umar came to the Prophet and said, "The women have become bold towards their husbands," and so he made an allowance to beat them. Then many women surrounded the family of the Messenger of Allah to complain about their husbands. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The people of the household of Muhammad have surrounded by many women who are complaining about their husbands. Those men are not among the best of you." Another authentic version in Sahih Ibn Hibban (9:491) adds that the Prophet then revoked the dispensation. Also the prophet did never beat any of his wives Aaishah (Radhiallahu 'Anha) said: "Allaah's Messenger (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) never hit anything with his hand ever, except when fighting in the path of Allaah. Nor did he ever hit a servant or a woman." [Recorded by Ibn Maajah. Al-Albaanee graded it Saheeh.] As muslims we have to follow the example of the prophet (who never beat his wives !) "You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example for him who hopes in Allah and the Last Day and who remember Allah much" Surah Ahzab [33:21] Riyad as Saliheen, chapter 34, ‘treating women well’, nr 278. Abu Hurayra stated, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'The most perfect of believers in belief is the best of them in character. The best of you are those who are the best to their women.'" [at-Tirmidhi] Riyad as Saliheen, chapter 34, ‘treating women well’, nr. 275. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "A believing man should not hate a believing woman. If he dislikes something in her character, he should be pleased with some other or another trait of hers." [Muslim] Riyad as Saliheen, chapter 34, ‘treating women well’, nr. 273. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Treat women well. Woman was created from a rib. The most crooked part of the rib is the top part. If you try to straighten it, you will break it. If you leave it, it remains crooked. So treat women well." His statement that “the best of you are the best in their behavior towards their wives, and I am the best of you in my behavior towards my wives” shows that (1) wife-beaters are the worst men and (2) no Muslim wife-beater can possibly claim to imitate the Prophet , although Allah Most High said to imitate him : {Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the last Day, and remembereth Allah much} (Quran 33:21). ------------------------------------ You can read more answers to such false claims here: http://www.answering-christianity.com/karim/mistranslations_of_hadiths.htm

  12. Assalamo alaikum This page has a set of nice tutorial videos to teach you how to say the adhan (azan / call for prayer) beautifully: https://my2cents.gawaher.com/7890
  13. Wa alaikum assalam sister Please don't lose hope. That's the worst thing you can do. Allah subhanahu wataala said "do not despair of the mercy of Allah" We are all here temporarily, not just you. We are all in this together. All you need is to strengthen your relation with Allah. Pray, listen and read the Quran. This will do wonders for you. Watch this video : Did you try natural remedies? there are people who were cured eating and drinking carrots. Fermented food, like sauerkraut, also helps. Stop consuming carbs (sugar, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, legumes). Those cancer cells live on the carbs you provide them with in your own food. Stop carbs and they just starve and die. Eat healthy fresh food, lots of tomatoes, broccoli, onion and green leafy vegetables. Cancer Cure Death is something which we cannot run from. Its always going to be awaiting each and every one of us. We must remember this as a Muslim. When we are given News of an illness it is just a reminder that we will die one day, however death itself is guaranteed whereas an illness isn’t. Put simply, the Cancer doesn’t mean those who have it will die before those who don’t. Its just a way Allah is reminding you and those around you of death so we don’t forget why we are here. A dua (supplication) for cancer. I believe first the Qur’an cures Cancer and second I believe that if you are meant to be cured that it will happen. I ask you first to pray for all the people who are suffering from incurable diseases and second for myself for posting it for you and third for anyone who shares this to anyone on Twitter, Facebook or through an email or website. Let us also emphasize that a dua (supplication) is good only when the intention is correct. To be cured of cancer you should also follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) using black seeds and honey. Here is an article on a woman who cured herself by black seeds: Cancer Cure Using Black Seeds Healing cancer takes a total protocol, Every mercy falls under the mercy of the Prophet (Peace be upon him): Health is a Mercy, Wealth is a Mercy, To be in a good position in this life is a Mercy, To be in good standing in the hereafter is a Mercy. All the mercies that’s coming, Allah SWT put in the hearts of our Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), and his family. So the one to whom Allah SWT, bestowed His Mercy knows what kind of remedy will help against every sickness. Shaykh Nazim is carrying knowledge of Prophetic medicine that he has inherited by his spiritual connection with the Prophet through the chain of saints. He explained that there is a dormant cancer in every human being. It doesn’t awaken except in certain patients. He said the best thing is to take onion juice. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said that although onion and garlic have a bad smell, they are cures for 70 different illnesses that cannot be cured by any other means. So people of Allah, recommend onion juice. There was a lady. She had a tumour in her head. She had a child. On behalf of Shaykh Nazim who told her to drink water after reciting Surat Al-Fatiha (the first chapter of Qur’an) Seven times and blow it onto this water. One week later she had an x-ray at the hospital and the tumour was gone. It’s not because she read or she took the onion juice, it’s because she believed that it could happen. She believed in Allah, and she believed in the Prophet (Peace be upon him). So a year later people saw her again, and she had been cancer free for the whole time with no operation and no chemotherapy. So recommendation for people with this problem is to take onion juice and to readSurat Al-Fatiha seven times on water, and drink it. If they are not able, someone else can read Surat for them. DUA FOR THE CURE OF ANY ILLNESS Ayesha (R.A.) stated that when anyone among them had an illness, Prophet Mohammad (SAW.) used to rub the area of the pain reciting the following dua: أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءٌ لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمَاً “O Lord of the people, remove this pain and cure it, You are the one who cures and there is no one besides You who can cure, grant such a cure that no illness remains”. “Ayesha (R.A.) stated that when Prophet Mohammad (SAW.) was ill, he used to recite the four Quls, blow on his hands and pass them over on the back and front. He also recited these surahs, blew on his hands and passed them over his body during his fatal illness” [Bukhari, Muslim] For more supplications visit: Supplications From Holy Quran For Diseases The Prophet(Peace be upon him) said that: ” Zamzam water is what one intends to drink it for. When one drinks it to be healed, Allah heals him; when one drinks it to be full, Allah makes him full; and when one drinks it to quench his thirst, Allah quenches it. ” [Ahmad, and Ibn Majah] Here are some more duaa that I suggest you say in your prayers, specially in sujood (Prostration), when your head is on the ground: http://duasalawat.blogspot.com.eg/2013/10/shifa-healing-cancer-and-other.html

Actually, there is atonement in Islam. We call it kaffara. In Islamic law, Shari'a, specifies the different kinds of atonement for different transgressions committed by Muslim men and women. The Quran has more than 15 different words for sin, each denoting a different kind of wrongdoing. Muslim tradition recognizes the original sin of Adam, which led to his and Eve's eviction from the Garden of Eden, in the Chapter of the Cow 2: 35-38: And We said: O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the garden and eat from it a plenteous (food) wherever you wish and do not approach this tree, for then you will be of the unjust. But the Shaitan made them both fall from it, and caused them to depart from that (state) in which they were; and We said: Get forth, some of you being the enemies of others, and there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time. Then Adam received (some) words from his Lord, so He turned to him mercifully; surely He is Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. We said: Go forth from this (state) all; so surely there will come to you a guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. This shows that the story of Adam in the Quran is similar to the one in Genesis. According to Muslim belief, it is in the nature of man to make mistakes and sin, but the best person is one who admits his wrongdoing and repents (thawaba). Only when a person shows a deep recognition of his sins, takes responsibility for their consequences and commits to making amends for them can there be atonement (kaffara) followed by forgiveness (ghufran). There are some 14 verses in the Quran about atonement: The Cow, 2:271: If you give alms openly, it is well, and if you hide it and give it to the poor, it is better for you; and this will do away with some of your evil deeds; and Allah is aware of what you do. The Chapter of Hud 11:114: And keep up prayer in the two parts of the day and in the first hours of the night; surely good deeds take away evil deeds, this is a reminder to the mindful. The literal meaning of the word for atonement, kafara, is to hide. Muslim commentators note that the difference between atonement and forgiveness is that atoning for a sin means hiding it in this world, whereas forgiveness means erasing it in the world to come. Forgiveness comes after reparation. Reparation means doing good deeds to repair the consequences of the sins. If people were hurt by the act of sinning, they must be appeased first. Their forgiveness is a precondition for divine forgiveness. But if the sin was a matter of faith and the connection between man and God, the required actions are ones that strengthen one's faith and connection with God: prayer, fasting, pilgrimage to holy sites (haj), charity, reading the Quran and freeing slaves. The act of reparation is determined by the kind of sin and the ability of the sinner. For instance, atonement for unintentional killing, in the Chapter of Women 4:92: And it does not behoove a believer to kill a believer except by mistake, and whoever kills a believer by mistake, he should free a believing slave, and blood-money should be paid to his people unless they remit it as alms; but if he be from a tribe hostile to you and he is a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (suffices), and if he is from a tribe between whom and you there is a covenant, the blood-money should be paid to his people along with the freeing of a believing slave; but he who cannot find (a slave) should fast for two months successively: a penance from Allah, and Allah is knowing, wise. For perjury, Chapter of the Table 5:89: Allah does not call you to account for what is vain in your oaths, but He calls you to account for the making of deliberate oaths; so its expiation is the feeding of 10 poor men out of the middling (food) you feed your families with, or their clothing, or the freeing of a neck; but whosoever cannot find (means) then fasting for three days; this is the expiation of your oaths when you swear; and guard your oaths. Thus does Allah make clear to you His communications, that you may be faithful. With all of Islam's intense encouragement to repent and atone for sins, there are sins which cannot be atoned for: Idol worship. Chapter of the Women 4:116: Surely Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with Him, and He forgives what is besides this to whom He pleases; and whoever associates anything with Allah, he indeed strays off into a remote error. The intentional killing of a believer. Chapter of the Women 4:93: And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his punishment is hell; he shall abide in it, and Allah will send His wrath on him and curse him and prepare for him a painful chastisement. Leaving Islam. Chapter of Imran 3:90: Surely, those who disbelieve after their believing, then increase in unbelief, their repentance shall not be accepted, and these are they that go astray. Source
