  1. Assalam-u-alaikum Everyone Alhamdulillah, I started blogging in order to share knowledge and to inspire other muslims inshaAllah. Its a fun hobby. I also write poetry so there are some thoughtful poems posted on my blog inshaAllah. Kindly do visit my blog and support it inshaallah. you are not allowed to post links yetorion2007.wordpress(contact admin if its a beneficial link) Kindly do comment if you decide to visit my site. I appreciate support from everyone. Here is a poem I wrote: Faith: Little young Delilah Lost in the woods Where vultures preyed On the innocent souls Feeling alone, lost and scared She fumbled humbly for food A lunchbox dear Mom made Some rice, veggies and fruit How long will it last? I will starve to death And my body would rot In this darkness to hell Cruelly the cold came right into her Blanching her sense of security And hunger chewed with surety Her tiny tummy without deter Oh what shall I do, oh what I shall do? She wondered with clear purity Her dear heart lightened as the wind blew Her mom’s whisper, “have faith when blue†Contently she slept Once again, peacefully Wrapped with leaves Under the snow-laden tree So Delilah didn’t hear then The pitter patter of tiny feet As tiny creatures of the forest Emerged miraculously “Oye Hoi, Oye Hoi What’s that my league!†Inquired the brave Elf-Captain “Sire, ‘tis just another human child†“Her feet so cold, her lips so blue Why wrap her quickly, be gentle, I say Oyee! What’s that? An empty lunchbox? Make sure to fill it up with food†My dear! How she survived alone Wonder what miracle she holds within? Inquisively, he peeked at her soul And encountered the Light of Faith Amazed at the strength he felt within He just had to borrow, just a bit Trembling, he held this sparkling glow As he transported the girl to her abode “Oh, how in the world I got back here? Was this a dream or simply a miracle?†Glancing at the silky maroon kente A surprised Delilah smiled knowingly An excited Elf-Captain hurried to his villa Where Cuvette de (1) Sila (2)was primly set This magical bowl now fully unlit Would change his famine-struck town when lit So, beamingly he placed the light of faith In the centre of Cuvette de Sila And voila! The bowl glowed mightily Oh dawg! what a mighty glow Faith, that’s faith my dear you know A beam of light in the darkness some sow A strong potion, verily a mighty sword Simple Sweet Understanding with a sturdy FLOW 1-Cuvette de is French for “Bowl of†2-Translitteration of Russian word силы meaning “Power†Source: (you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_orion2007.wordpress(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/2008/03/05/faith/"]you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_orion2007.wordpress(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/2008/03/05/faith/[/url] Take care Assalam-u-Alaikum

    wow! mashaAllah.
  4. Assalam-u-alaikum I have a question to all muslims. I need proper answers and if you can find quranic text and ahadeeth to answer my question, I would highly appreciate it. I just posted a list of websites, which I thought were unislamic. I didn't visit them when my muslim cousin told me about these rather I saved the list to make sure I don't go to these sites for help and such. So, now I came across another new anti-islamic website and for a minute there I listened to what the guy was saying. His name is Imam Khaleel Mohammad. Once we google his name, the first 2 pages give such a splendid feedback saying that he is accepted both by sunni and shia muslims and that he got this and this degree from Saudi Arabi, this and this from some Western university. I mean his profile seems respectable. So this Imam is saying that when the Quran says in 5.5 "This day, all innately good things are lawful for you... Lawful to you are the chaste women from among those who have been given the Book before you...'", it applies to both men and women since the Quran addresses both genders. So he says muslim women may marry non-muslim men. Then he goes around discrediting the reasons other imams give as to why a muslim woman may not marry a muslim man. This is a completely different discussion. I am thinking of making a new post about this b/c I need some answers. I mean if a non-muslim comes up to me, gives me this article, how am I going to answer this person. Anyways. after I reached the actual organization's website, the organization, this imam works for, I was convinced, he was not telling the truth. Now, if it were a non-muslim who was learning about Islam, he/she would have been so easily mislead. Furthermore, this Imam's organizations's website even goes around saying sharia is bad and such. And I thought hmm, if a non-muslim reads that he/she is going to so hate us. :-) So, I thought, better warn all these non-muslims who are open to inter-faith discussions. Hence i posted the bad sites here in an attempt to expose them. Next thing I know, an admin. has discreetly removed all the links, closed off the post and emailed me the reason for doing so. Basically, its out of fear that these sites will be visited by other people and hence their ratings will go up. Ok! Couple of comments here. 1-Not exposing them is not a good idea b/c these sites are very misleading. Muslims should openly say so and warn other non-muslims and muslims about it. I have very dear non-muslim friends to whom I do dawah. And just looking at these sites kind of worries me b/c I don't want non-muslims with good intentions to be mislead. 2-If the muslims are so afraid of their ratings going up, why not muslims do more dawah, increase awareness of their websites and put some money in marketing their websites more so they may overcome the competition. Anyways. Later Kind Regards Assalam-u-alaikum
  5. Slandering the Dead: The American Massacre at al-Khalis Contributed by Rich Thursday, 28 June 2007 By Chris Floyd As Glenn Greenwald, among others, has pointed out, the new Bushist line is that everyone killed by American forces in Iraq is "al Qaeda" – a transparent falsehood belied by the Pentagon's own assessments but now mindlessly adopted by almost every corporate media venue, with the honorable exception (as always) of McClatchy Newspapers. Of course, the Invader-in-Chief and his multitude of bootlickers in traditional media and the blogosphere have always vastly inflated the numbers and importance of those elements in Iraq that are associated with al Qaeda in some way, however tenuous. Indeed, we know, again from the Pentagon itself, that the exaggeration of al Qaeda's influence in Iraq has been part of a deliberate, well-funded "psy-ops" scheme. (See "Hubub in Hibhib: The Timely Death of al-Zarqawi.") But now they have decided to dispense with the subtleties of psy-ops and simply repeat "al Qaeda" with every breath, in an effort to demonize all resistance (both in Iraq and at home, both violent and non-violent) to Bush's murderous boondoggle. 06/28/07 "ICH" -- -- But while this deceit is peddled for domestic consumption – avidly gobbled up and regurgitated by the bootlickers, and spreading the intended misinformation among casual consumers of the news (i.e., the vast majority of Americans) – Iraqis have to deal with the brutal reality of the war. And they know that everyone killed there by the invading forces is not "al Qaeda." They know that many Iraqis being killed by the Anglo-American coalition are innocent civilians. And they are increasingly embittered at the American slander of their dead. This slander is being applied even to those Iraqis who have taken up arms against the very "al Qaeda" terrorists that the American military is purportedly protecting them from, Iraqis who are cooperating with the American-backed government and its American-trained military and security forces. The BBC reports about an horrific massacre of Iraqi civilians last week – an air attack with missiles and gunships that literally ripped to shreds the bodies of village guards who had just returned from a raid with Iraqi government forces on a suspected terrorist hideout. These men were then accused of being "al Qaeda gunmen" in Pentagon press releases trumpeting this magnificent feat of arms – accusations then duly (not to mention dully) parroted in the press. But the people in the village of al-Khalis tell a different story. (And for all the bootlickers out there who have fully entered into the spirit of the sectarian bloodbath unleashed by Bush and resolutely reject any contradiction of Pentagon propaganda by Sunni victims, al-Khalis is a largely Shiite village, on the side of the American-backed Iraqi government.) The BBC, which acknowledges that it too simply repeated the Pentagon line in its first reports on the "triumph," has gone back to the village to dig up the truth – and to do what the Bush Regime never does, and what the American press does only with the most extreme rarity: give names to the "collateral damage" of Bush's aggression. Village Disputes Story of Deadly Attack (BBC): Excerpts: A group of villagers in Iraq is bitterly disputing the US account of a deadly air attack on 22 June, in the latest example of the confusion surrounding the reporting of combat incidents there. On 22 June the US military announced that its attack helicopters, armed with missiles, engaged and killed 17 al-Qaeda gunmen who had been trying to infiltrate the village of al-Khalis, north of Baquba, where operation "Arrowhead Ripper" had been under way for the previous three days. The item was duly carried by international news agencies and received widespread coverage, including on the BBC News website. But villagers in largely-Shia al-Khalis say that those who died had nothing to do with al-Qaeda. They say they were local village guards trying to protect the township from exactly the kind of attack by insurgents the US military says it foiled... They say that of 16 guards, 11 were killed and five others injured - two of them seriously - when US helicopters fired rockets at them and then strafed them with heavy machinegun fire. Minutes before the attack, they had been co-operating with an Iraqi police unit raiding a suspected insurgent hideout, the villagers said. They added that the guards, lightly armed with the AK47 assault rifles that are a feature of practically every home in Iraq, were essentially a local neighbourhood watch paid by the village to monitor the dangerous insurgent-ridden area to the immediate south-west at Arab Shawkeh and Hibhib, where the al-Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed a year ago. The BBC then quotes the American command's version of the incident: "Coalition Forces attack helicopters engaged and killed 17 al-Qaeda gunmen southwest of Khalis, Friday. Iraqi police were conducting security operations in and around the village when Coalition attack helicopters from the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade and ground forces from 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, observed more than 15 armed men attempting to circumvent the IPs and infiltrate the village. The attack helicopters, armed with missiles, engaged and killed 17 al-Qaeda gunmen and destroyed the vehicle they were using." This, say the villagers of al-Khalis, is simply a lie. Here is the account they gave to the BBC when it followed up on the story: At around 2am on Friday morning, the village guards were at their usual base in an unfinished building on the edge of the Hayy al-Junoud quarter about 1.2 miles south-west of al-Khalis village centre. They were surprised when a convoy of Iraqi police suddenly turned up, headed by the commander of the Khalis emergency squad, Col Hussein Kadhim. The police told them they were about to raid a suspect house in nearby al-Akrad Street and asked for the village mukhtar (headman) to accompany them. The Mukhtar of Hayy al-Junoud, Jassem Khalil, and his brothers Abbas and Ali, went with the police. Some of the other guards, about half altogether, also offered to go along. The raid turned out to be a false alarm - there was nothing suspicious at the house in question. But as the police and guards began to return, the police received an urgent radio message from the Joint Operations Centre saying that US helicopters were about to raid the area. The police disappeared immediately. But before the guards could even get to their own car, they were hit by a rocket strike by American helicopters which suddenly appeared overhead. So too were the remainder of the guards, still at their base in the unfinished building nearby. The rocket attacks were followed by a prolonged period of strafing by heavy machinegun fire from the helicopters. "It was like a battlefront, but with the fire going only in one direction," said a local witness. "There was no return fire". ...When frightened villagers ventured out at first light, they found 11 of the village guards dead, some of their bodies cut into small pieces by the munitions used against them. All but two of those killed were Shia and they have been buried at Najaf. The other two who were from the local minority Sunni community. So here we have a local guard, an admirable example of Shia-Sunni cooperation, working with the Iraqi government against suspected insurgents, ground into mulch by American bullets then denounced by American brass as killers and terrorists. Thus yet another village has been turned against the blind and brutal occupation; thus many more seeds of revenge and bitterness have been planted. Is this part of the much-ballyhooed "counterinsurgency doctrine" crafted by the sainted General Petraeus to win hearts and minds, to teach peace to the conquered? Or just the inevitable product of a war of aggression, an action conceived in deceit and callous inhumanity? The BBC goes on to ask a few more pertitent questions: If the villagers' account is true, the incident would raise many questions, including: On what basis did the US helicopters launch their attack that night? How many other coalition reports of successes against "al-Qaeda fighters" are based on similar mistakes, especially when powerful remote weaponry is used? The incident also highlights the problems the news media face in verifying such combat incidents in remote areas where communications are disrupted, where direct independent access is impossible because of the many lethal dangers they would face, and where only the official military version of events is available. Ah yes, it's the best of all possible worlds for dirty warriors like George Bush and ###### Cheney: a bloodbath "where only the official military version of events is available." But as we all know, "murder, though it hath no tongue, will speak with most miraculous organ." And the names of the slaughtered in al-Khalis cry out with bitter eloquence their silent condemnation. 7. I Want Answers! Wife Abuse!

Oh, compelling a muslim to follow a certain way of life works the same way as compelling a non-muslim to follow Islam. PERIOD. Unless, of course, you can prove to me that it doesn't. Perhaps bring up some scientific literature that shows it doesn't work the same at the mental level. :-) How did prophet made his wives cover up? Did they choose our of their own free will? Did the prophet only advice them? Did he use force to make them cover up? His wives were among the best of mankind. They chose the good out of their own free will. The prophet did not outline things (wear such and such) for them anything without first teaching them the message of Islam. When they became muslims they observed the dress code themselves, out of their own free will. Prophet did not enforce it on them neither did they become suicidal after covering themselves up. WHY? B/c they chose to do so freely since they understood the message of Islam. The sister is obviously not ready for such a commitment. She can only be ready out of her own free will. An outline for a specific dress code won't help her. This methodology (emphasis on outward looks and behaviour) is what made her husband an abuser. He must have forgotten about making his inner self better. If she follows this methodology (i.e. blindly cover up and such), she will not become a true muslim. i have seen ladies in burqas doing gheeba and such and even talking negatively about Islam. Why do they do that? They dress like muslims, don't they. Simply b/c they are not muslims (if they speak against Islam) or bad muslims (if they backbite and such) and b/c the message of Islam hasn't reached them. A specific dress code won't bring it to them either. Haven't you seen the rulers of Arabia who blindly follow America but dress so modestly? What good did their dress do to them????? Your husband shouldn't have just outlined things for you and expecting you to follow. The first thing he should have done, out of pure Love ( i teach people about Islam out of Love I feel for them inside my heart), should have been to teach you about Islam. The second thing he should have done, should have been giving you time to decide and such. That could take years. :-) But he should have been patient like prophet mohammad. If you would have understood about Islam and such and decided to follow it purely, then he need not advice you on dress code b/c it would have happened automatically for you inshaAllah. I know a sister. She is a muslim mashaallah, a revert sister. She used to wear hijab but lately she feels to cover up more. So she started wearing veil. But the girl experiments with it. Sometimes, she covers her face to see how it feels and such and other times, she just wears the headscarf. Her husband is a bearded religious man. He doesn't abuse or force her. He just stands by her, loving and protecting her and let's her decide things on her own mashaallah. The most he does is advice. That, my dear, is a good muslim man. So, dear sister, study Islam if you like, follow it if you want to and when you feel you are ready to do so inshaAllah, listen to your husband advice if it is good and if following it doesn't make you suicidal inshaAllah and yes, try to stop him from abusing you. kind regards Assalam-u-aliakum :-)
  8. I Want Answers! Wife Abuse!

There is only one email address given up there and that is mine: arzoo_zaheer[at]yahoo.ca What part of Arzoo sounds masculine? I am so sick of online people calling me a guy. What is the problem here. Is it something I wrote????? For the record: I (atha) am a WOMAN!!!!!!!! And I am NOT GAAYYY so I won't steal the lady away. OK! feel much better now. Oh, somebody posted the following above: The rule of non-compulsion applies only to non-muslims. Euhm! how is a muslim different than a non-muslim when it comes to feeling depressed and suicidal due to compulsion and force. Whether one follows Islam to certain extent or not, isn't that all a choice here. Whether I wear the hijab and cover myself is a choice. I will marry someone accordingly then, someone who let's me wear hijab or if I don't cover, someone who is ok with me not covering and such. Now, when you said compulsion is only for non-muslims, you kind of legalized the way her husband enforced a dress code on her, making her wear the veil out of her own will. I have done enough readings to understand that covering is an act of free will and is not supposed to be enforced. The husband may merely suggest such and such Islamic dressing, the wife may not follow if she is not ready. Why compel a muslim. Did compulsion help this sister at all? she believes in Allah and the message of Islam but apparently she is not ready for the hijab yet. Did compulsion made her pure? Nay, it just made her suicidal. PERIOD. Kind Regards Assalam-u-alaikum

Ok perhaps you are possessed by a Jinn. Recite Ayat-ul-Qursi when this happens and see if it stops inshaAllah. If its a Jinn, reading Ayat-ul-Qursi will stop it. kind regards assalam-u-Alaikum
  11. Jiin!

What if she has multiple personality due to some trauma? Was she ever abused or harmed? Did she ever recieve a head-injury. She might not have a jinn. Going to an imam to have her healed may be a mistake. My advise would be to seek both medical and spiritual healing inshaAllah. kind regards Assalam-u-alaikum
  12. I Want Answers! Wife Abuse!

Assalam-u-alaikum Sister, if telling your family about what is happening to you doesn't lead to any fast results, the I want you to go around that and tell an outsider who has authority to do something about it. Going to the police to report him after he hit also sounds like a good idea to me. See, I just thought, you are from a paki family. I am from one as well. When i got hit, no action was taken to stop it but perhaps a little chiding of the boys other than that no affirmative action. The abuse just continued for a while. I know some paki families are all about protecting their family members and such but its ignorance to protect the wrong doer. If they don't do anything about it, I want you to walk to the nearest police station and report the guy. And don't let your kind heart weaken your resolve. kind regards Assalam-u-alaikum
  13. I Want Answers! Wife Abuse!

OK. I have read some comments from muslim brothers and sisters here. Obviously, none of you ever got hit by anyone. So you don't know how to relate. The guy needs counselling, not this girl. I am amazed at how you are asking her to study Islam and see if the guy wants best for her. Sure! if he wanted best for her, he wouldn't have tortured the hell out of her. What about her dress code and such. If he was a true muslim, why would he wear a girl who didn't cover herself properly (no offense sister). You are maried to a corrupt brother. Having a beard and praying five times is nothing. It doesn't mean anything. If a prayer is just action and words and doesn't reach the heart, its no use. The heart of a true muslim is kind and a true muslim doesn't hit. Hitting is not allowed in Islam. The maximum that is allowed to a husband is to hit as if you are using a toothbrush to touch the other person. It is supposed to convey a mesage on the mental level. Quite frankly, is that really hitting or merely touching in a specific manner. Men who abuse their women will go to hell. I was abused by my brothers. I am from a Paki family too. And I know, sister, what you are going through. I was lucky. Two of my brothers just grew out of it. And the youngest one who experimented with "hitting a girl", well b/c I loved him too much, I prayed for him and he just stopped. Now, he loves me the most and takes care of me the most. So, Alhamdulilllah. But I intend to leave soon. I am not staying with those men who used to hit me (i still see hitting potential in my older brothers, not the youngest one) since my father is too old to protect me. Sister dear, sincere advice coming from someone, who understands what it feels like to be hit: If you can't forgive and love this person given he reforms and changes completly, then leave him as soon as possible inshaAllah. However, if you are able to forgive him and your heart accepts him as your husband and guardian as well as that of your child's then stay with him. What he is doing to you is completly un-islamic and Islamically speaking you can walk out of this. And anyone who is telling you to read about Islam and bear with this man is telling you a lie. Just ignore them. If you need to know and learn more about women's rights in Islam as well as other fiqh stuff, do email me at arzoo_zaheer[at]yahoo.ca I myself am a learner of Islam and I will try my best to help you out inshaAllah. Take care may Allah safeguard you, Amin assalam-u-alaikum
  14. World War Three Might Begin

Hi Gnuneo I didn't see much of a clash b/w what you said and what I am talking about. I understand that corrupt powers will fight and such but I also get that there is going to be one good group there. We have all these movements and such but its not doing us humans any good right now. We may think we are making a difference but just go to Iraq and you will see that we aren't. Think about it. A colonial war in a post-colonial era. We study and think we have learned something new, we have learned that coloniasm is wrong. But who listens to the scholars and average people at the end?? At the end, we don't have much power to do anything good b/c the corrupt powers are ruling this world. The essay is just meant as a warning. It is saying "If the current events go the way they are, If a war on Iran is waged or any other middle-east country, we will go into a downward spiral here. It will only get worse from here on. Then the prophecy of the return of Jesus and coming of Mahdi will come true b/c that would be the only way of restoring world to its natural peaceful form." Its an "If then" situation here. If we manage to stop these crisis from escalating, then the prophecy might not come true b/c it was never meant to come true at this time. Let me explain something here. When we look at prophecies of Prophet Mohammad, we must realize that Mohammad (peace be upon him) is just talking about the states of affairs of this world as they are going to be given man's power to choose things. Destiny is not "it is meant to be no matter what you choose". Destiny is "it is going to be given what you choose". Mohammad (peace be upon him) did not prophecize in vain and I am sure that our future generations will see that. He prophecized several time when he was alive and every time, what he said did come true so I don't doubt him at all. But you see where I am going from here. Basically, even if we believe in these prophecies it leaves us still with the responsibility of trying hard to stop bad things from happening to the innocent people because if it was meant to get worse than now, then at least we tried AND if it doesn't get worse, then well, we achieved our goal. If we don't try to stop the opppression of innocent people, then it will be on our conscious no matter what. I feel we are almost on the same page here :-) Kind Regards
  15. World War Three Might Begin

What do the Muslims and Truth-Seekers need to do? Do at least 2-3 of these activities to make a difference. If you can do more easily, by all means do them.  1- Try to stop the war on Iran or any other war that is waged with the pretext of fighting the war on terror. We must think logically here. What started this war on terrorism is 9/11. But 9/11 is an inside job as evidence indicates. So, the only war on terrorism that needs to be waged inside US and not against the Middle-East countries. Concentration camps like Guantanomo can be likened to the ones at the time of Hitler. These serve to dampen the spirit of muslims and truth-seekers throughout the world. These are a symbol of oppression for any free person as it shows that U.S. may capture anyone on the face of this planet and put them in there, take away their basic rights and mistreat them.
