  12. The Israelis

Asalaamu alaykum, I just finished reading a great book on modern israeli society, called "The israelis : Odrinary People in an Extraordinary Land" by Donna Rosenthal. The author is a bit biased at times, as she looks at the conflicts between the israeli and Palestinian through Jewish eyes, but that doesn't really matter as the book isn't focused on this. The book focuses on the different cultures that exist in israel. The book discusses life of the different types of Jews, ranging from ultra-orthodox to secular. It has chapters on the Muslims, Christians, and Druze living in israel also. It covers the issue of race, as there are Jews of European, African, and Middle-Eastern descent living in israel. The final chapters discuss marriage, adultery, homosexuality, prostitution, and drug addiction in modern israel. I recommend that you read this book. :D Overall, it's very good and a nice little look into how the Jews today behave and think. :D
  13. Plz Interpret Dream Plz

Asalaamu alaykum brother, I also had two dreams last night. I rarely ever have dreams at all. Well, the first dream I was talking to this one woman. She asked me for marriage and I was very hesitant and said, "Well, let me think about it." And she got very mad and refused to speak to me. Then some time went by and I contacted her again. I told her that I had not rejected marrying her, she had misinterpreted my words. She was was very happy. I spoke to either her brother or father and agreed to marry her. :D In my other dream, I was talking to my best friend who moved out of state several years ago. :D We usually keep in touch via the phone and letters, but I have been so buy in the past few months that I haven't contacted him. Anyway, I had this same dream twice before. He and I were walking through this school-like place. I remember meeting him in the library and saying, "Bro, what are you doing here?" He said, "My dad just dropped me off so I could visit you." Lol, I don't know, the dreams I had are pretty much pointless. The dreams you had were very interesting though. My sister once had a similar dream to yours. She was under control of Shaytan and she was in Jahannum. She was a slave and Shaytan had her dig in mines for gold. :D She was trying to look everywhere for our family, but she was all by herself. One of my other friends had a dream yesterday, too. He saw the prophet Isa (alayhi salaam) standing outside of the gates of Hell. Does anyone know it's possible to meet any other prophets (a.s) in your dreams, besides Muhammad (s.a.w)?
  14. Islam in Japan

Asalaamu alaykum, I am Japanese who was born in America. Since I was raised in a western country, I adopted western values. Ever since I converted to Islam, I have rejected American morals. Mariko, mash'Allah you have a nice name, it is the same as my aunt's name. :D My family is from Kyoto and my great-great grandfather was mayor of Kyoto. I am studying the Japanese language now, which is very very easy. :D I have started to learn some kanji, which is not hard at all, just there are so many of them! My grandmother always speaks to me in Japanese.
  15. My Story

Asalaamu alaykum, Mash'Allah sister, that is so amazing... :D You went through much difficulty, but now you are at ease. May Allah (swt) continue to guide you on the straight path.
