  1. Muharram

:D I am quite suprised that there are no articles, information etc. on Muharram! It is an Islamic Month, which is quite significant to remember. :D
  2. Muharram

Muharram: 1st Month of the Islamic Calendar The Tenth of Muharram and Ashurah The Islamic year begins with Muharram ul Haram, the first month of the Hijri Calendar. While followers of other religions spend their opening month in worthless merriment, the first month of Islam teaches us lessons of admonition, good counselling, knowledge of Allah Ta’ala, sacrifice, selflessness, patience and seeking the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala. The tenth day of Muharram (Ashurah) has many distinctive qualities and features. Allah Ta’ala created the heavens and the earth on this blessed day. On this day He gave His infinite blessings and bounties to many of His Prophets and delivered them from the clutches of their enemies. Allah Ta’ala created Hazrat Adam (Alaihis-Salam) in this month, pardoned him of his mistake, and Hazrat Noah’s (Alaihis-Salam) Ark landed successfully on Mount Judi, and he saved Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaihis-Salam) from fire and rescued Hazrat Musa (Alaihis-Salam) from Pharaoh. On the first of Muharram offer 2 rakats Nafl prayer. In each rakat after Surah Fateha recite Surah Ikhlas 3 times. After the Salam pray to Allah Ta’ala for all your needs and desires. From the blessing of this prayer, Allah Ta’ala will appoint an angel for such a person. The angel will guide him or her to do only good deeds and prevent them in engaging in sinful acts. On the eve of "Ashurah" offer 100 rakats Nafl. In each rakat recite Surah Ikhlas 3 times after Surah Fateha. After Salam recite first ‘Kalimah’ 100 times. Allah Ta’ala will forgive all the sins of such a person. Dua-e-Ashurah - An insurance for a year’s Life Hazrat Imam Zainul Abidain (Radi Allah Anhu) reports that who ever recites this dua on the tenth of Muharram, any time after sunrise and before sunset, or listens to its recitation from someone else, Allah Ta’ala will certainly make it an insurance for a years’ life for him, by keeping death away from him. However, if one is to become the victim of death in that year, they will by some strange coincidence not remember to recite it. Nafl Salat for the Eve of Ashurah On the eve of Ashurah offer 4 rakats Nafl Salat as follows: In every rakat after Surah Fateha recite "Ayetul Kursi" once and Surah Ikhlas 3 times. After completing this prayer recite Surah Ikhlas 100 times. Allah Ta’ala will purify such a person of all their sins and grant them endless bounties and blessings in paradise. The Fast of Ashurah On the 9th and 10th of Muharram, one should fast. If it is not possible to fast on both days, then every effort should be made to fast on the 10th day of Muharram, as there is great reward for this fast. (Muslim Shareef). The following are some of the desirable acts one should do on the day of Ashurah: 1. To observe fast on this day. 2. To give as much charity as you can afford. 3. To perform Nafl Salat prayers. 4. To recite Surah Ikhlas 1000 times. 5. To visit and be in the company of pious Ulema. 6. To place a hand of affection on an orphan’s head. 7. To give generously to one’s relatives. 8. To take a bath. 9. To visit the sick. 10. To establish friendly ties with one’s enemies. 11. To recite Dua-e- Ashurah Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (Radi Allah Anhu), a Companion of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sall Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam) reports the following saying of the Messenger of Allah Ta’ala, "Whosoever prepares ample food and drink for his family on this sacred day and delights in feeding them generously, Allah Ta’ala will increase His provisions for that year and place much blessings and good therein." Imam Hussain (Radi Allah Anhu) and his companions were martyred on the tenth of this month.
  3. Dear Muslims, Pray Your Salat

    :D Woah...mashallah, very gripping. :D ...Excellent reminder though! :D
  4. Sisters, How Would You Feel?

:D There are many other ways to turn some one down nicely and gently...and telling them that they're not the best of looking is just harsh. I agree, if one maybe doesn't find the attractive appeal at all, then there is a problem. And you shouldn' go ahead. Just tell her, I think your nice but somehow I don't feel we'd be right or something along those lines. :D
  5. For The Sisters...

:D 1.Is it important for the brother to be physically fit and attractive?Fit- yes, don't want him all ill and weak. Attractive- ermm he doesn't have to be prince charming, but decent looking. 2.Is it important for the brother to have to been to university? Big time- 100% 3.How important is it to settle near your family and how would you react if your family kept criticising him, do you expect him to obey your father even if he behaves unjustly towards him? Settling near family- I would love it, and that would be the best thing. However, thats fate, where ever I end up, I end up. As for my family criticising him, I would be quite upset, as I would like them to make him feel comfortable, just like they'd want his parents to mke me feel welcome too. And I expect him to respect and obey my father, and just have patience, even if my father was being unjust or whatever. I dont feel its right being rude to elders. 4.How important is it to get to know him properly i.e. see him regularly with your mahram, what if he feels uncomfortable talking? Yeh, definitly, I would want to know him so much that I feel comfortable talking to him and stuff. If he felt uncomfortable, I'd let him tke his time, and let him open up at his own pace. But if he's constantly shy, say like good 2months lollll, he's out. 5.How do you feel about going outside the home? Studying outside? Working outside? Going to the gym? Perfectly free and comfortable. I do what I feel like and want to do. 6.Should the brother be sensitive? It doesn't bother me... everyone is different in this term. 7.What’s the ideal age difference, if he’s four years older, is that too old? Would like him to be same age or would prefer a year older. 3 yrs, would be maximum difference. 8.Should he have a cultural/traditional upbringing? Yeh (has to be the same as me), so he doesn't clash with my cultural upbringing, and we'd understand each other's values and background. :D
  6. Should Women Be Able To Choose The Way They Dress?

:D I don't think any women should be FORCED to wear a scarf. However, yes, she should be told that she should wear one, why she is wearing it, the benefits etc. And just keep reminding her. As for the way of dressing, she should know to dress modestly...if she doesn't she should be reminded too. As for the niqab, its ones choice. :D
  7. Should I Tell Him?

:D Brother...believe me, there is more of a possiblity that someone has used her pic!! There are soo many dodgy ppl out there who are freaks and use fake pics and approach ppl. I think you should talk to her about it... if you can. Thats a better option. :D
  8. Why Eating Haraam Food Is A Sin

:D Jazakallah for the replies... Maybe I should make it a bit clearer. I need to explain and try to convince someone that eating hraam food is not right, and totally WRONG!! They don't eat pork, but eat non-halal chicken, turkey, meat etc. And their excuse is they say Bismillah and its ok. :D
  9. :D Could people please give me proof and good articles even, on why eating haraam food is a major sin. I need to pass this information on to someone, so please try to keep it short and direct. Even include the punishments in hell, due to eating of haraam food. In addition could someone please post why it is also not permissible to say 'bismillah' on haraam food and then think it is ok to eat. Thanks. :D
  10. Why?

:D You know I went through a very similar phase quite recently, and for me it was a realisation and I felt it was a way of bringing me closer me to Allah even more. For me, I felt Allah is my only Helper and true friend, and I still feel that today. Every pain, sorrow, happiness, thoughts I shared. And I felt soo muh better and my heart felt so light and relieved. I feel this is more of a matter, of peace of heart, mind and soul. Sometimes when you begin to lose peace you don't like anything/anyone or even certain ppl no more. You should try praying and talking to Allah. Do strong dikhr of Allah's names and make duas that Allah gives you peace. Don't be scared to cry, it relieves sometimes the feelings you don't even know your feeling deep inside. All the frustration, just let it pour out. Inshallah you'll quickly see these feelings and thoughts to fade and go away. :D
  11. The Global Peace And Unity Event

:D Glad to know they got family areas...sometimes the segration is inconvenient when you go with family...all the women are together and a male member is all alone. It looks soo good. :D
  12. Muslim Teen Stabbed By Racists

:D My mistake, I totally misread. Apologies. I thought this incident was the one that happened few weeks ago, in Ilford underneath that bridge, in ilford lane I think; the boy who was stabbed to death by a gang. Once again, sorry for the wrong info. :D
  13. Muslim Teen Stabbed By Racists

:D Two mates I have actually knew the guy...and really it was more to do with a gal, that this whole sad accident happend. :D
  14. Uk Muslim Wives Get Rights!

:D I think that it's great!! I think they mean in terms of 'the right not to have children' more of too many children. Some men don't stop. After all, it is going through the women's body! And yeh I agree, if the women doesn't want children at all, she should inform the husband before. Which I think some women usually do. :D
  15. Gold Fillings In Tooth?
