  1. The Girl Who Said Yes

:D I hope this finds you in the best of health and iman. And may Allah bless the Prophet and his family. :D I'm about to enter a new chapter in my life. I'm excited, but also nervous. Throughout my life, people have told me in one form or another that I wasn't good enough. But to someone, apparently I was good enough. If this is really happening and if everything goes as planned :D , I'm about to get married soon, :D . :D :D
  2. The Girl Who Said Yes

:sl: Ayou are not allowed to post links yet You guys are great. I hope all is well, insha'Allah. :sl:
  3. Pomegranates!

:D I guess I'll post this in the Dessert section since there isn't one specifically for fruits. LOL. Anyway, has anyone tried pomegranates? I don't think I've ever had one, but they seem delicious. Evidently there are many juicy "seeds" or something inside the fruit that you eat. I think I'd like to get one :D . :D "you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_www.pomegranates(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/nomess.html"]Click here to learn about pomegranates.[/url]
  4. Tuna Fanatic Toasted Sandwich

:D After getting some tips in the past about making tuna salad, and after making a number of tuna sandwiches myself, I think I now have a decent tuna recipe worth sharing :D . Ingredients: - 1 can (6 ounces) Tuna in water - 2 teaspoons mayonnaise - 1 squirt mustard - 1 teaspoon lemon juice - dash of salt - dash of pepper - ½ teaspoon dill weed - chopped celery - 4 slices bread - lettuce - cheese slices Method: This is to make 2 sandwiches. First, open the can of tuna halfway and drain all the water. In a bowl, mix together the tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, dill weed, and chopped celery. Mix until it’s well blended. Quantities of each item are listed above. Take 2 slices of bread and put a little lettuce on each. Put half of the tuna mix over the lettuce on each of those 2 bread pieces. Then put a slice of cheese on top of each, such as Cheddar, Swiss, or Provolone cheese. Then put the other slices of bread on top of each to finish constructing the sandwiches. Now, you can toast the sandwiches using an electric toaster oven, or a conventional oven preheated at 300 degrees F. Toast the sandwiches for about 5 minutes. Basically you want to add some crisp, but not char it, so the bread should be golden brown at most. Enjoy!
  5. I Made A Cake!

:D I made a cake, but I used cake mix. I can't do it from scratch. I used a white cake mix and mixed it with the eggs, water, and oil. I took 2 buttered pans and poured half of the mixture into each, then I baked them for half hour. After letting them cool down, I took a knife and cut off the top part of each cake, so that it would be more flat. I put one cake piece on a platform and spread some lemon frosting on it. Then I put the other cake piece on, and frosted the top and sides. To finish it off, I added star-shaped sprinkles. :D
  6. Careerbuilder.com And Monster.com

:D brothers and sisters :D So what do you think about web sites like www.careerbuilder(contact admin if its a beneficial link) and www.monster(contact admin if its a beneficial link) that let you post your resume? I did post on both and ended up getting e-mails about get-rich-quick stuff and multi-level marketing type of stuff. I also was contacted by employment agencies. That's not what I wanted. I wanted an actual company to call that could hire me directly. Know what I mean? I don't want to go through an employment/temp agency again unless I have to. I feel kinda bad because I'm not getting anywhere with my job. I've expressed a desire to learn. I've told management that I don't want to do this position forever, and then I said I want to move completely out of this position. But I'm still stuck in the same position. Despite my requests, someone else graduated college and was given a decent position, even though he's new to the company. Why didn't they promote from within, especially someone who expressed a desire to move up? :D The bad thing is that now the bulk of my experience is in this one position, and I feel that makes me a less valuable employee. I feel I should have gained experience in different things during my youth. I also feel like my college degree, good grades, and five years of work experience have not paid off at all.
  7. Lasagna, I Got My Eye On Ya'

:D Some day I might attempt to make lasagna. I haven't had time to look up an actual recipe, so I've only brainstormed thus far. Here's the idea in my head, which may or may not work properly... :D I was thinking to take lasagna type of pasta and boil it as instructed. Then take a baking pan and grease it with butter or margarine. Then lay down a few strips of pasta for the base. Top that with ricotta cheese. Then put another layer of pasta strips. Then put a mixture of vegetables and pasta sauce on top of that. Then put a final layer of pasta strips on top of that. Finally, sprinkle a bunch of shredded mozarella cheese on top of that, and then bake the lasagna until the cheese is all melted. How does that sound? I don't know yet which vegetables I'd use, but this is where one can be creative. Green beans and chopped carrots might work. Broccoli might work. Mushrooms and spinach might work. Cauliflower and potatoes just wouldn't seem right. Hmmm... Later. :D
  8. Sorry

:D I just wanted to apologize for “complaining†lately, for not being positive enough, for possibly getting frustrated, and for seeming unappreciative of advice that has been given to me. I hope I haven’t offended any of my bros or sisters here. Not to make excuses, but it was a rough week, and next week at work might be very stressful and difficult. I’ll try not to post anything for a few days :D. :D
  9. The Halo

:D I looked up in the sky on a cloudy day, and found something quite interesting. Circling the sun was a rainbow. Within the circle, it appeared more gray than the remainder of the sky.

  12. The Girl Who Said Yes

:D Thanks for all the kind words and well wishes. :D Some people in real life and non-Muslim forums can be such jerks, but it's nice to know who my true friends are. :D I've finally found the girl who said yes She chose me above all the rest Even though I am far from the best I thank Allah, for I feel blessed :D
  13. Zain Bhikha

:D This is my first time posting in the nasheed section! :D I don’t often listen to nasheeds, but one of the few albums I have is Towards the Light by Zain Bhikha. I didn’t listen to it for a couple years or so, but today I had a craving to hear the song “Nabi-un-Nabi.†It’s quite nice. Then there’s another song on the album called “You Are Never Alone,†which is a song of hope. There’s also a song on there called “You Are Very Special,†which Zain wrote for his child. :D The last song on there is one I had forgotten all about, but was pleased to hear – “Tala’ Al-Badru ‘Alayna.†It was so beautiful that I had to listen to it a few times. I hope others are able to hear this beautiful song. :D

  16. Beef Jerky?

:D Have you ever seen beef jerky at a store? It looks like a fun snack, so I wanted to learn how to make beef jerky using halal/zabiha meat. I guess the main thing is that the meat is being dried, but not so dry that it loses its chewiness. Since the meat would shrink during the drying process, I guess we could cut long pieces of the beef so it's like a stick, but not too skinny. Then it would have to be marinated for flavor. Does anyone know what Worcestershire sauce is? I hope it's halal. Then it would have to be cooked in the oven at very low heat for several hours. If anyone has an easy method for making this, please share. :D :D
  17. ~more Jokes!~

    :D :D
  18. :D I hope this finds you in the best of health and imaan. And may peace & blessings be upon the Prophet and his family. With everything else going on in the world, I realize this is a selfish dua request, but I hate my job. I'm also exhausted because of work and other things. Please make dua that I can quit my job soon and find a new job that: - doesn't leave me feeling so miserable. - is fulfilling and raises my self-esteem. - gives me some sense of accomplishment. - is a little closer to home. :D

  20. Re-birth

“Allah brings the living forth from the dead, and brings the dead forth from the living; and enlivens the earth after its death. And this is how you will be resurrected.†(Qur’an 30:19)
  21. :D I’m really busy with my job. On Friday I got home at 7:20 PM. Sometimes I just eat lunch while working. I’m not exaggerating when I say I have one-and-a-half jobs. Then on the weekends I’m exhausted. I still get up early, but the weekends fly by. On Saturday, it took me until 3:30 PM until I completely finished my laundry and cleaning. Occasionally I bring work home to do from my job because there’s too much to do and too little time. I’m not even able to get a good night’s sleep. I can’t remember the last time I got a good night’s sleep. I wake up feeling groggy. My brain is fried. My eyes are tired. I’ve forgotten things I’ve learned. I’m just exhausted. This makes it hard to get my chores done on weekends. This makes it hard to focus on work. I need energy. If I had more energy, I could finish chores more quickly on weekends :D . :D Well, this post is getting long, so let me cut to the chase. I was drinking this energy drink. Then I read a post on this forum saying taurine comes from bull... :D :D So I read the ingredients on this energy drink, and sure enough, it has taurine. I felt sick to my stomach. <insert barf smiley here> Now I can’t buy that anymore, so I need an alternative. I like flavored coffee now, but I don’t have time to make coffee. Energy pills are one idea, but I would need a drink to swallow them with. Caffeinated soda is one idea, although not the healthiest. One idea that struck my mind is caffeine gum! :D Sounds cool. I like caffeine. I found one product doing a Google search. I hope it doesn’t have taurine in it. Any other ideas? I need energy.

  23. Graphics Software - Question

:D I don't have Photoshop because it seems way too expensive. One thing I'd like to do that would require an image editing program is where you turn a photo black & white, and then take one object in the photo and keep it in color. Does anyone know what this process is called? How does one go about doing it in a graphics program? :D
  24. My Honor...

:D May this find you in the best of health and imaan, and may peace & blessings be upon the Prophet and his family. Sorry to complain, but I feel an injustice has been committed against me, and now my honor is tarnished. :D I feel bad. Please make dua that I can get out of this situation. :D
  25. Citizen X's Final Breath

:D An injustice committed, he would never forgive In a world of problems, another reason not to live His honor was tarnished, his self-worth was drained Now to the point that his faith had nearly waned The roller coaster of life had taken its toll Alone and weak, what a wretched soul He tried and tried, but couldn’t break the chains Shamefully succumbed to his sorrows and pains No longer able to bear the burden, he wished for death Perhaps soon would come the moment of his very last breath Love, Citizen X
