  1. Hey, Salaams everyone, hope everyone is good inshallah! Yes this is my first post, so make good impressions on me people! I know it's wrong to judge, but I am totally going to judge you, so behave yourselves! anyway, maybe this is for another forum, but does anyone know how to get your own icon or why i can't do mine?? So i go into my controls, edit icon settings, but then there's nowhere to put in my own one, just the preinstalled ones. managed to make 1 complaint already, great start eh?
  2. Hi Salaams everyone, Ok... Deep breaths... No, I'm not pregnant, that's rather difficult being of the male-kind, the thing is... I'm not too keen on sharing any kind of written material with anyone :sl: I can stand up and give a speech on anything for however long, but when it comes to poetry...hm... well it's just a kind of 'don't go there girl' kinda thing. But anyway here I am about to. So I'm forced to establish some kind of rules before you read this. #1 If you're gonna laugh when you read it, then read it but try not to! #2 You are not allowed to compare this with any other poems you read. Ever. Period. Ok here we go.... I wrote this one when the israel forces [the "israeli Defence Forces"] massacred families in Beit Hanoun - what's changed? I dunno if you guys saw the pictures... but they wern't pretty ill tell you that much now... I never actually named it since I didn't show it to that many people, I just called it 'israel[using large font size is not allowed]'. A lifeless child in the arms of his hysterical mother Just another victim of random gunfire. When will this ever end? Executions in the street, Screeching ambulances on the scene, Smouldering fires beneath the trees, When will this madness end? Always searching for areas to hide, Amid soldiers killing for pride, Who will ever end it? The world’s cameras in amongst the throng, Reporters thirsting for their prize story, For armchair entertainment in the west, But do they really care? Politicians talk of ending this perpetual cycle of violence, Yet they do not solve The destruction on the streets And the vicious attacks on the innocent, But who will ever end it? Please don't forget the plight of the innocent men, women, children, in a condition that is not considered by the western media as a crisis when it far exceeded that in 1948... The Prophet (pbuh) said that the ummah is like one body, when one part gets hurt then the whole body feels the pain... Are you feeling the pain??? Are you part of the ummah??? If you do feel pain then what do you do about it??? Wasalaam Alaykum
  3. Salaams I'm not about to post any poems I've written here, due to...various...factors...BUT I've read a pretty decent one recently (and I need to get 50 posts!) so hope you lot like it. 5. Ar-Ruqyah

As-salaam Alaykum I'm not disputing - mashallah such good knowledge you have passed - but why doesn't somebody do magic on Olmert or Bush or someone? Yes, I know it's Kufr, but surely that won't stop some people, heck even non-Muslims hate them!
  6. Simple And Beautiful Sayings

“(Take care of) your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, then other relatives in order of closeness.†I've never heard anyone object to this... it's so true, even the dads agree!
  7. Your Favorite Verses from the Quran

Check this thing out it's really cool...can't believe I never noticed it before... Surat al-Lahab/al-Masad, talking about one of the few people Allah has condemned to hell... Surah 111:1-5 Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he! No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck Next verse?[using large font size is not allowed] 112:1 SAY: He is Allah, the One and Only; Come on you gotta find that amazing!
  8. Your Favorite Verses from the Quran

Surat al Inshirah 94:5-6 So, indeed, with every difficulty, there is relief: Indeed, with every difficulty there is relief. (i.e There is more always more relief in some way or another than difficulty)

  10. Way Of The Ulema - Birmingham Central Masjid

Thanks Aamina... she's thrilled that she's "6", which - purely by coincidence - is my parents' fave number... how cool is that??! And you also need two hands instead of one to do the number 6... just another of the many benefits of being 6 I guess.... Lol Jazakallah Khayr
  11. Way Of The Ulema - Birmingham Central Masjid

Yeah sorry I forgot to include that detail from the leaflet... Shaykh G Haddad from USA Shaykh Fasial from - yes - Canada Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi from Syria and in elipses... Shaykh Muhammad is a direct descendant of the Prophet (pbuh) from a family of scholars that have taught the sacred knowledge for centuries.
  12. Let's Get This Over With Then, Shall We?

Lol! I never actually thought of it that way before... dear oh dear, that would be a blow to American right wing national pride now wouldn't it?
  20. Challenging Quiz!

Lol, good escape route :sl:! Who was the Prophet (pbuh)'s best friend? careful, it's another Suhaib Webb question!
  21. Challenging Quiz!

No it isn't Salman al-Farisi either! Okkkk i'll tell you lol... Basically the definition of a Sahabi is "somebody who met the Prophet (pbuh), while both of them were alive." Right? So when the Prophet (pbuh) was taken Isra and Meraj he met...guess who...it's the answer...Isa/Jesus (as)! And the scholars are unanimous that Isa (as) is alive, so therefore, he met the Prophet (pbuh) while both were alive, making him the greatest of the Sahabah!
  22. Salaams, It's an emerging pattern; the Taliban banned music in the streets, the Union of Islamic Courts in Somalia banned music in the streets... what does Shari'ah say? Is there different rulings depending on the circumstances? Like pubs are allowed for Christians but not for Muslims, even in Islamic lands, so does that mean the non-Muslims can and Muslims can't? You can see how this is not an issue about the 'Halaliness' of music, because you will get non-Muslims living in Muslim lands and they don't have to abide by our halal and haraam... ... ...so does anyone know?
  23. Music Is Banned In Muslim Lands...?

What you say is so true. I ask because a Christian brother asked about music being banned in Muslim countries, and I didn't want to give an answer I was unsure of. So basically they - Dhimmis - can't listen to music in the streets. Although nowadays iPods, phones etc. make it a whole lot different, thinking practically.
  24. Hi!

Hi and welcome! I hope you enjoy being here, I have so far and it's been like... 2 or 3 days lol. I personally have a lot of respect for Buddhism, and also it's similar to Islam in so many ways... the moralistic way of life, the sacrifices one makes, the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment, the discipline one lives by, the desire for peace... It's really inspiring to see people like that, I hope we can learn from each other on this forum!
  25. Challenging Quiz!

And there is a big clue...!
