  1. Jesus died to release us from the slavery of sin "Romans 6:20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." This is why it works "Romans 6:2 ...We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. 6For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. 8Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God." Sin is a choice to disobey the will of God. Therefore, if you sin you are saying you will not fellowship or be apart of the glory God has for you. Since you have made this choice the only place for you is hell because that is a complete removal from the will of God. So the first time you sin is your very first death. Even though you walk this earth your soul is dead. So God choose to be the lamb. Just like the lambs used in sacrifice the Jews did to be forgiven of their sins. Since Jesus was the perfect sacrifice blameless and free from disease like the lambs given to the God He was a perfect sacrifice to be made for all human kind. God knew in his great wisdom that no human other than Jesus could be blameless. He also chooses not to put that much of a burden on any other human other than Himself. Think about the action of being humanities sacrifice. The action of dieing for those that you love proves you love them. He didn't just merely speak a word so that now no one understands the true meaning of this sacrifice. He came down lived the life of a human to show us how to live. He died to show us how to die, and rose to show us that He has victory over life and death. We as humans needed to see that. Just saying “believe me†and not give reason behind that belief is something God wouldn't do. He knows the human heart and knew that we need a breathing living loving companionate sacrifice to turn us away from the devil. Also if he just says the word that you are forgiven why would we really need to change our ways? I wouldn’t show the full weight of sin and how harmful it is. Another thing is God is a true leader. He will not make us do something he was not willing to do himself. He came down lived a good life spread his word and died for all of us so that we may understand what it means to be a resident of the kingdom of heaven. He expects us to lay down our life for Him like He did for us. He expects us to humble ourselves like He did.
  2. Women Place In Islam

could you explain the beating part to me again I don't see how that is asserting one’s power over her.
  3. What Is The Purpose Of Islam

How is this different from what anyone who is "religious" would say? Why do you personaly know this is the truth. How has God made himself clear throught these words?
  4. What Is The Purpose Of Islam

If you could boil down the purpose of Islam what would it be? Why are you willing to defend it, live by it, or even die for it?
  5. Christian Hypocrisy

If you don't like the way some people treat your faith why would you do it to others? Why don't you step above that course of action and truly try to understand our faith and teach us about your faith. Since you believe that your faith is not barbaric then show us why it isn't. Tit for tat never gets you point across it just makes you look worst and less credible. (Especially if you know some of the quotes were out of context.) And even if you don't want to seem like you are attacking us that is exactly what that movie looks like.
  6. Can I Be A Muslim And A Christian?

Sorry, I haven't read all of the posts. I stopped when Grenville said “Not believing in the trinity does not disqualify you from being a Christian“. That is wrong. If you have truly given your life to Christ then you will understand the trinity. The reason is the only way to be forgiven of your sins is to believe that Jesus is God's only begotten son and he came down to die for our sins. Then three days after his death he was risen with all power and glory in his hands. Once you repent and give your entire life to God then you will receive the only spirit. Which will be your comforter and interceder while you are on earth. You must believe in all three forms of God. If you don't you are rejecting God as a whole. Also Muhammad doesn't follow the teachings of Christianity. The fact that the Qu’ran says that Jesus never died on the cross and the Bible says that He died makes our beliefs different. Since Christians believe that the only why to be forgiven of all sin forever is through Christ’s death on the cross makes Christianity and Islam incompatible. It doesn't mean the people that believe are incompatible it just mean that their faiths are not compatible.
  7. Smash The System! Ban Hell!

Hello all I will agree with Darla hell is being without God. Right now by not wanting to obey and be with God and truly understanding your reason for living you are rejecting God. So since it is your wish not to be with Him He will oblige your wishes and you will find yourself with an eternity of regret. Still it is not like He doesn't give you a change to believe in Him. It is not like He hasn't gone through a lot of trouble to allow you to be in His presence for eternity. It is you that reject Him not the other way around. There will always be a consequence for our actions wither good or bad. This God of mine is all loving. He even loves you when you do wrong and He will forgive you for whatever you do. And no He doesn't need us but he wants us. That is big. You won't truly understand how loving God is until you give your life over to him. Then you will understand. So think on it a little. If you wish ask Him and he will tell you. Have a blessed day and Love everyone because God loved us so much that He died for us. Even when we weren't respecting or loving Him. So we have a big debt to pay. Even if you don't believe we are capable of love so love everyone.
  8. Something Other Than Me...

    why did you give up?
  9. Why Isn't Paul Considered A Prophet In Islam?

Paul did persecute the Christians because he was a zealous Jew. Still when you say that Paul never knew Jesus you would be wrong. I know Jesus, I know God. When you accept Jesus as you lord and savior and ask for the forgiveness of your sins the Holy Spirit comes upon you; you become connected to God. This is how Paul knew who Jesus was and how I know who Jesus is. Also God will use however He chooses to be His prophet. Just because a human thinks the person is unfit doesn't mean that God doesn't have a plan for Him. Everyone can be redeemed because nothing is too much for God. We know what Jesus taught because of the New Testament which is backed up by the Old Testament. We also know because we are changed by the Lord Jesus Christ. My life is enough proof that what the Bible says about God is true. With the guidance of the great consoler the Holy Spirit we are always in contact with God who tells us what He wants. I can truly say I know Him and that he called me out. You should get to know Him. You guys have a great day. I hope that God gives you peace and Love
  10. The Moment You Knew Allah As God

He is both the Son of God and God (very confusing I know) And every Christian should believe that He is the Son of God and God. Jesus is God in human form. Jesus is all human and all God. Since God caused marry to be born without having intercourse but conceived by the Holy Spirit (which is also God) into a human Body. Yes God is his own father. This is all very weird and crazy but prophesied Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. In this way God could accomplish many things. 1) express His true love for us by humbly making himself human and allowing himself to be afflicted by temptations and needs that humans have. Also to be persecuted and doubted. 2) Dieing on the cross and feeling the pain of death and taking our sins onto Himself 3.) being an example of how to live as God would want us to live. We should be striving to be exactly like Jesus so that was we live we are shinning examples of truth. (boy is it hard but I can do all thing through Christ) Look at Jesus like the reflection of God the Father in heaven. He did and knew everything that God the Father did in heaven. He couldn't do anything different than what God the Father did because He is God the father. If you noticed in the new testament that Jesus would talk in reflections. Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Joh 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. No one can say that just because they know a child they know the parent. So This shows you that Jesus and God the Father are one. I have on occasion tried to wrap my brain around the concept. In some ways I understand it. In other I just find to be out there and I not even going to be worried about how God worked that out. That is why He is God and I am me. If need you me to explain it more I could gather up some more information for you. Ask some people with degrees in this and do my own research and email it to you (or anyone who wants it) or post it here. Thank you guys for the opportunity to talk about God. I love it. I hope your days are blessed and that you will see the love that God has for you everyday. Also thank you for the conversations it help me grow in my understanding and my awe of what God does. Like I said I love it. Have a Blessed Day.
  11. Good day Yasufar thank you for your explaination. I would like to clear something up though. I was not Paul had no say about Jesus credentials. Actually Jesus' credential are all over the Old Testament. I have been collecting scriptures about Jesus throughout the Bible. This is about half of all that I have collect so far. That is the great thing about the Bible. You don't have to take Paul's word for it you can see it what he says has any worth by checking with the other books of the Bible. Hopefully these verses will give you a fuller understanding of the life of Jesus and why He came. I find that different verses in the Bible help clarify other parts of the Bible. If you would like my full list I will be willing to email it to you once I am done (which will probably take a long time) or I can email you what I have now. Have a great day and May God bless you with his loving kindness. Amen. Thank you for the long list. Unfortunately it is off-topic for this thread and I have had to delete it. However you are welcome to post it in a separate thread of its own.yusufar
  12. The Moment You Knew Allah As God

It is good to see your words again vishah. I am glad that you wish to talk about this subject. Yes according to the Qur’an Jesus isn't God. (I foresee we will have to find some common ground) Now I will agree with you God is the one and he is absolute and eternal. God is also One God. It is that he chooses to appear in different forms. Now about the never begetting. In the Bible there are 44 different account that I have collected about Jesus being God's Son. 5 of these accounts are in the Old testament. Ps 2:7-9 ¶ I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Ps 89:27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. Jer 1:5-9 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. Isa 49:5 And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength. Isa 49:1 ¶ Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. May I ask you in the Qur’an was man made in God's image? Do you understand what Allah is? If so how? The reason I asked you if God made humans in God image is because that is what is says in Genesis. God made Adam and Eve in his image because he wanted us to glorify him.(Ge 1:26,1Co 6:20) The only way for humans to truly glorify God is to be in his image the way he intended. How can some one give God true glory with being imperfect. Still Adam and Eve choose to be imperfect. So God called out the Jews to be His people and keep all His laws. (Deu 26:16-17 )So that they may be a shining example of God‘s Glory. Still they weren't. So God came down because He can be a perfect image of Himself(Ro 11:34,2Co 4:4 ). This way through Jesus we may be images of God.(Ro 11:36,Gal 3:13-14) Please Lord God help us through life so that we may be a shinning example of your Glory. In the name of our loving savor Amen. May the Lord Bless you and keep you
  13. Good day yesufar. I hope that you are doing well. I just wanted ask you a few questions. Why do you believe in Mr. Bernard D. Muller? What are his credentials? I Googled this fellow and was about the read his critic on another fellow work about Jesus and I ran across something interesting. Mr. Bernard D. Muller said "I am not a scholar and my knowledge of ancient languages is close to be not existent"(you are not allowed to post links yet)"http://############geocities######/b_d_muller/djp1.html"]the Jesus Puzzle, by Earl Doherty: a critizue by Bernard D. Miller[/url] To answer you other question. Yes God could be a dog if He wanted to, but why would He want to? One thing I know about God is He doesn't do anything without a reason. My God help us understand him more thought our discussions. This is my prayer. I his Holy and saving Name. Amen
  14. The Moment You Knew Allah As God

When Christians talk about God being Omnipresent we mean He is every where in the universe at once. Not like his arm is in Tokyo and his feet are at the sun. It is like all of him is in the room I am in and all of him is at the center of the galaxy. He sees everything everywhere at the same time. He isn't everything but He is everywhere. Here are some verses. Ps 139:7-8¶ Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. Jer 23:23-24 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? 24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. 1Ki 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? First when you are doing wrong. God will bring it to your attention. If you continue to disobey he will stop giving you the things you want. Your blessings will be cut off. He will remove his hedge of protection from around you. He is not going to stop talking to you. He just isn’t going to keep giving you things when you are wrong. Then he will give you opportunities for you to turn from your ways and com back to him. With each chance you get to do right the harder the consequence will be when you don’t. The more your blessings will be cut off. You will begin to lose things that you once had.. If you insist on going against him He will make you get hit rock bottom. He will get you alone with no one around to help you but Him. That is why you will have to see that he is your only way out. If you look at the israelites in the Bible it is much like what he will do. I try to learn fast so that I don’t have to experience this. So what kind issues would you like to bring up with Jesus being God? Sorry for the delay. May God bless us with his truth an understanding.
  15. Concept Of God In Christianity

I noticed that this gentleman said that Jesus never clamed to be God. This would be an incorrect statement Joh 10:30-31 I and my Father are one.31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him You must ask yourself. If the Jews didn't think He was calling himself to God why would they throw stones? Joh 8:58-59 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. In this verse Jesus was talking to the Pharisees. They new which scripture Jesus was quoteing and what kind of statement he was making when he called himself the I Am. That is way they were throwing stones again in this verse. In Ex 3:14 it says "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." You can see that God has called himself the I Am and so has Joh 8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. This is Jesus talking to his Disciples . In verse 6 Thomas asked how can he know the father. Jesus answers with this verse. Joh 14:7. What I find that is interesting is not only does Jesus say that you know the Father if you know him but you have also seen him. Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Joh 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. One thing a person should notice when you see how Jesus talks about Himself and God the Father is that they mirror themselves. So If you do something unto Jesus you also do it to God himself. I can’t say if you love me then you love my father because we are too different people. Still Jesus says if you know me or if you love me then you love my father. This is because they are one in the same. Whatever Jesus did so did God the Father. We know that God is Jesus's Father through many verses. Ps 2:7-9, Jer 1:5-9, Mt 3:17, Mt 1:20 Still if you do believe that Jesus is the messiah you must be aware of Isa 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.†Now you may ask me how do I know that this verse it talking about Jesus? In Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (the name Immanuel means God with us) As you can see the prophecies clam that the messiah will be God himself. Yes Jesus did come to full fill the Law but you must ask yourself what was the law for? Deu 26:16-17 “ The LORD your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws; carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul. 17 You have declared this day that the LORD is your God and that you will walk in his ways, that you will keep his decrees, commands and laws, and that you will obey him. And the LORD has declared this day that you are his people, his treasured possession as he promised, and that you are to keep all his commands. 19 He has declared that he will set you in praise, fame and honor high above all the nations he has made and that you will be a people holy to the LORD your God, as he promised. “ The law was given so that God's chosen people would be holy and above all nations. This can only happen if they keep all of the commandments. Unfortunately a normal human being won’t keep all these laws. Therefore Jesus came to be the one to fulfill the law. So that God could call upon his nations of holy people. Those who will truly follow Jesus in sprit and truth. But still we are imperfect and unable to do this sinless. That is the reason Jesus had to die for our sins. So that with our sins will be forever forgiven. Then His Holy Sprit will dwelling within us. That way through Jesus we fulfill the requirements God has placed for his people. So now all we must do is confess our sins in Jesus Christ and believe that he came and died for ours sins. Isa 49:5-6 And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength 6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. Therefore through the blood of Christ has made a new convent with those who will believe in him as their Lord and Savior. Mt 26:26-28 ¶ And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Jer 31:31-33 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of israel, and with the house of Judah:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Isa 49:22-23 Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.23 And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. Remember this is a question for the young man. He didn’t say that he wasn’t good, or that he wasn‘t God. What is interesting is that he didn’t say the Father. He said God. When Jesus talks he usually uses his father in Heaven or the/my father. But here He says God. Then if you read on, after Matt 17, the young man says that he has followed the commandment. Then Jesus says sell everything and follow me. Now if Jesus was not God how could following him give this young man eternal life? Also if He is not God how can He tell him that he will have treasure in heaven? Mt 19:21 “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.†In the old testment God is one. We are not claming that god is three. Not what we are saying is that Jesus the holy sprit and God the father are all one almight being. Being almighty allows you to do what you want. You must also take in account some other verses. Ge 1:26 ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Ge 3:22 ¶ And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Ps 110:1 ¶ <<A Psalm of David.>> Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, , The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.â€Ps 2:7-9 ¶ I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Isa 42:1-3 ¶ Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street 3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. Ps 96:13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. there are others and the more and if you study to prophecies of Jesus the more you see that He has the same attributes as God in the old testament because He is God in the old testament
