  1. United Muslims Convention 2008

Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu Join us on a journey of enlightenment, motivation and entertainment. View the Muslim community through the array of spectrums that now constitutes our British society. Celebrate our diversity in approaches but unity in faith. Be part of the United Muslims’ Convention (UMC) experience. The UMC is anticipated to be a landmark event for the heart of England, the West Midlands. Inshallah (God willing), the event is anticipated to attract over 3000 visitors from all walks of the Islamic faith. Not only this but the event is intended to extend the invitation to our non-Muslim friends who are interested in learning about Islam and who wish to experience our legacy. This one day convention has the support of the local community, Islamic thinkers, community activists, scholars, University Islamic Societies and many other organisations. 2. Right Start Foundation International (RSFI) delivers an anti-drugs awareness message, training and treatment services in a style and context that is sensitive to the distinct needs of BME communities in Birmingham, UK and International. RSFI Projects: Anti-Drugs Project: The aim of the drugs project is to use positive means to combat drugs misuse amongst the youth of ethnic minorities in the UK, Europe and the wider Middle East. RSFI has devised a multi-faceted and comprehensive approach to tackling the drugs problem in a holistic manner; prevention through education, training young people to be community outreach workers and finally treatment of drug users, with the family unit as a focal point. Thus we have three branches to the drugs project education, training and treatment. Masjids, Imams, Madrassas and Scheme (M.I.M.S): To deliver drug education to young people, imams and committee members, in a culturally sensitive and imaginative way within established community institutions i.e. Masjids/madrassahs.
