  1. Unfortunately, but not when I'm in control. Anger, injustice and pure arrogance pushes me. But when I have a glimpse of rationality I would lightly bite my tongue, forcing it to not utter a thing, making me keep those words to myself. I would love to overwrite those words with words that praise Allah, but it's really difficult to control actions on a whim. It also helps knowing that every time you restrain your anger you gain more wives in Jannah :j:. That usually works for me :sl: [we all have our incentives :sl:]. Mu'adh bin Anas narrates that Rasulullah said, "He who swallows his anger despite being able to express it, Allah will call him in front of the entire creation and allow him to choose whichever hur he desires."
  2. Thanks you brother dot. This will make things so much easier!
  3. I'm about to retire for the night, but before I do, happy Ramadan Mubarak all! May we all be increased in faith and piety and may we all attain success in this life and in the hereafter Aameen. :sl:
  4. Islam/muslim (practicing) 5 Daily Prayers

Christians weren't always known as Christians [i forgot what they were originally called]. It was a name dubbed onto them by the Romans.
  5. Aaqib's Wisdom And Thoughts

Re: Time That's well thought out. Your analytical denunciation of wasted time is quote worthy. All you have to do is publish a book so I can officially quote you :j:. I knew something was up with the Mod badge, but I wasn't sure if it was new or if I was just losing it :sl:. Congratulations! :sl:

Definitely. My old COMPAQ came with MS Works [6.0], I was able to remove it and install Office 2003 easily. I find it weird that Work's Word program doesn't support Word [Office edition]. They basically look almost identical. But definitely you can swap it out for Word. You don't even need to uninstall MS Works from your PC. Works and Word [Office edition] can coexist and run simultaneously without interference from either of them.
  7. Sharing Ramadan With Children

It took some digging up but I think this is the link that you were trying to post: (you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_educatingthemuslimchild.wordpress(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/2007/09/07/lets-prepare-for-ramadan/"]Click[/url] -It seems very beneficial.
  8. Islam/muslim (practicing) 5 Daily Prayers

I don't find it to be problem as long as you base Christianity on the sole principal that Allah, is the one and only God with no partners and Muhammad and the prophets before him are all his servants and messengers. Though one has to keep in mind that some of the scriptures are tainted. Some are obvious [trinity] and others are not. Think of it like this, you're playing Minesweeper on a 10 x 10 grid. There are 10 mines. What are the odds that you will hit a mine on the first go? The second go? The third go? Eventually you're "luck" will run out. You should not dwell on the unknown when you don't have to.

I really like the look of Windows Vista, though I currently have XP Home. I made sure than when I built my PC that it could run all editions of Windows Vista when it was released. When it was released I found out it's little secrets; certain softwares won't work under the new OS. I'll have to give up Nero 6, Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premier Elements. I'm not willing to part with them, nor am I willing to spend hundreds on their newer counterparts [waste of money]. I could dual boot XP and Vista, but that's just a hassle and a waste of space for the use of three softwares. For now XP will suffice. I use to play games on my PC, but ever since I ungraded my monitor, game over. The video card can't handle the new resolution when gaming without locking up or having teeth grinding frame rates. The simplicity of Linux is starting to seem very appealing now. I've heard good things about Linux, but I'm not sure if it will work for me. For a MS user, Linux is a taboo. As for Apple, that's like committing shirk lol. Question: Does XP drivers work under Ubuntu? [My motherboard manufacturer has no Linux drivers]
  10. Random Incoherence

Today was an exceptionally wonderful day. This morning was so cool and refreshing. The trees rustled; swaying rhythmically to the accompanied gusts that whipped past and through my polo. The roads were crisper than usual; cars were fewer in number compared to yesterday at the same time. The only thing that was the same was everything else. The people, the news, the environmental clatter, it was all the same. All-in-all, it was a wonderful precursor to Ramadan. Have a wonderful Ramadan everyone :sl:. I'm really happy since I have the first four days of Ramadan off :sl:. Thursday and Friday are Jewish holidays and of course Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes I feel so spoiled lol.
  11. First Fast

Don't be so nervous :sl:. It's all about intention. You won't mess up as long as you don't intend to. May your first Ramadan be a pleasant and rewarding one. Take care. -You never fast at night lol. Fasting is from sunrise to sunset. -Once you see the crescent, the following day is Ramadan. I assume that Ramadan activities should start in the morning. Hope this helps.
  12. O Muslims Are We To Be Blamed?

    Exceptional! Another fine work. :sl:

Can't believe I missed this thread bro . May Allah bless him and forgive him and make his grave expansive and comfortable Aameen.
  14. Tips On Reading Uninteresting Things

Unfortunately, I've been down that alley before... What I do is put my head down on my desk and read; I get a tad bit sleepy in this position. For some reason when I'm sleepy things just make more sense when I read lol. I believe I'm entering the "zone" [a hypnotic like state where your brain devotes major processing power to that one task]. Weight lifters mainly do this as well as people who meditate. Try it, see if it works for you too. Or... You can do it the easy way... :sl: If you have a scanner, scan the document that you need to read into your computer. Make sure you save it as a .pdf or .tiff if you have Microsoft Office. Next get a text to speech engine [(you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_you are not allowed to post links yetcfs-technologies(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/home/?id=1.4"]CLICK[/url]]. Now you can have your computer read it to you! I mainly do this to read back my essays to me; they wonder why my essays are so outstanding! lol. Make sure that the text is in normal font; the font that your currently reading is an example of a normal font. Italic works too.
  15. I've created four graphics that may serve as an aid for new Muslims as well as our youth. These were created in Microsoft PowerPoint. I would have really liked to distribute that miniscule 461KB file to others, verbatim, but alas it would be aesthetically deficient; fonts used in the program will not be viewed by other users if they don't have the font. Also there are users who don't have PowerPoint. For this reason, I've taken high quality bitmap screen shots. I hope that this may be of some help. 17. For Those Who Are New To Islam

:sl: Your point is well taken. I'll down sample the files into JPEG/GIF [Whichever provides a better quality] and release the original PowerPoint file. For the five pillars I had intended to depict that each layer supports the other one, from the bottom up. Though, you could also see it as Hajj being at the pinnacle, then Zakat and so forth. I'll definitely have to address that. :sl: I'm glad that I could help!
  18. Aaqib's Wisdom And Thoughts

    Wise words indeed. :sl:
  19. Random Incoherence

I went to my Senior orientation today to get my schedule and to hear the usual reverberation that I've heard for the past three years. Alhumdulillah, my Du`ah was granted. I get to leave early. Not only that, in the morning I have study hall which means I can arrive at school a bit later if I please. I then have English and then study hall [A Days] or weight lifting [b Days]. The rest is my other mandated courses. I was really fortunate to have Ms. Blake again for my gym teacher; she has a good sense of humor as well as a likable personality. For some reason I have ecology; I only need three years of science, which I have taken and passed in succession [Alhumdulillah]. I won't purge it from my schedule since knowledge is knowledge and Allah favors knowledge [ilm]. -This really seems like a blog, but as far as random incoherence goes, this was the only thing on my mind.
  20. I tried it in both Firefox and IE, it works fine in both. The countdown is a great idea! The video will be airing on PBS on Thursday Sept 21st at 11. Insha`Allah I won't forget.
  21. How Many Of You Would....

1.) I would marry someone who has engaged in sexual activities if she had done it during wedlock. 2.) I wouldn't marry a woman who had a child from a previous relationship. Why? I don’t want any animosity to arise in the immediate or eventual future between the child and I. Perhaps I’m watching too many movies in which the child acts up when the mother marries another guy… Preferably I would like to start out without any former children. It’s a matter of preference. 3.) I would marry someone who has been married before. Why? Things happen, it doesn't mean that the person is defective because she was bound to a previous engagement.

Alhamdulillah! I finally mesmerized Ayat Al Kursi! :sl:
  24. British Veiled Women Battle For Their Rights

Salaam. I guess human rights have been whittled down to nothing more than a joke. People should realize that they are the masters of themselves and not the masters of others. The British believe that they are doing the Muslim women a favor by banning the wearing of the Niqab in schools; what a joke! They're only desecrating that persons ideologies so that they can assimilate them into a forbidden culture of lures and sin. They would have never done that to any other religion; not a sect of the Christians nor that of the Jews. Seriously who is the Niqab harming? Does it cause them pain and oppression? Does it contradict your ideologies? These aren't rhetorical questions; these are questions that need to be answered, but failed to get any stimulus. It's an overt joke!
  25. Takbir

Salaam. Should you do the takbir [hands to ears and say Allahu Akbar] in the first rakat alone, or for all rakats? I've been praying by saying only one takbir in the first rakat and start every other rakat with Fatiha. This was the way I've been taught, but I found documentations that says you should do the takbir for all rakats and another says do it for the first rakat. I'm confused at the moment. Can someone clarify this for me? Thanks in advance for all posts.
