  1. 30 Day Online Intensive

  2. Forgiveness Or Revenge?

Revenge for the sake of ones nafs is haram unless its an option approved by the sharia. e.g. if someone kills your husband in cold blood. The judge might offer you to take the life of that person. This is permissible though superior to forgive. e.g.2 If someone steals from you and you want to steal something of theirs to "get even". This is haram. You are entiled to your thing but not theirs. Its a test and not acting with sabr shows dissatisfaction to what Allah has destined. NB:. If someone hits you and you want to hit them back twice as hard. This is exactly the way the pre-Islamic Arabs understood Jahiliyya. The Best of Creation (peace and blessings be upon him) went through more then we could handle and he never acted except that it was inline with Allah's pleasure. Its related that Ali (ra) was fighting in Jihad and knocked his enemy down. Just as he was about to cut the neck of his foe. His enemy spat on him (ra). Ali lowered his sword. The enemy said "why did'nt you kill me" and Ali (ra) said (on the lines of) "Because now its personal" (meaning his intention was no longer for Allah).
  3. Brothers And Sisters, I Am Very Very Confused!

La hawla wa la quata ila bi Allah Every action and every word uttered is from Allah. He is the one moving the lips of the teacher and He knows what you need to hear. Thats probably what he means. Anyway this form of madad is reserved for a student (murid) and his Shaykh of tassawuf (Murshid) and the Shaykh only knows the needs of the student if Allah grants him that knowledge. But we are not allowed to talk about that on this forum.
  4. Saudi, Saudi, Saauuddiii!

Makkah, Medina, Makkah, Medina, Makkah...... etc. Those places are indeed blessed. The grave of the Prophet (upon him be peace and blessings) is the most blessed place in the world. Makkah has bayt Allah but where is the rest of Najd (i.e. Saudi)? The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “O Allah! Give us Baraka in our Sham, O Allah! Give us Baraka in our Yemen.” They said: “And in our Najd?” and he said: “O Allah! Give us Baraka in our Sham, O Allah! Give us Baraka in our Yemen.” They said: “And in our Najd?” and I believe that he said on the third occasion: “In that place (najd) are earthquakes and seditions, and in that place shall rise the devil’s horn.” (See: Sahih al-Bukhari, no: 990) Sayyiduna Amr ibn Abasa (Allah be pleased with him) relates that Uyayna ibn Hisn al-Fazari once remarked in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) that the best of men are ….the people of Najd. The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) replied: “You have lied! Rather, the best of men are the people of Yemen. Belief/faith (iman) is Yemeni and I am also a Yemeni.” (Tabrani and Ahmad, with all the narrators in the chain authentic (thiqat). See: Majma’ al-Zawa’id, 10/44) In the final part of the last Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) referred himself as a Yemeni. The reason could be (And Allah knows best) that “ Yemen” was in fact the name of Qahtan’s son, and Qahtan was a forefather of the Arabs and was from the children of Sayyiduna Isma’il (peace be upon him). Hence, the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) had a relationship of ancestry with the Yemenis. It could also mean that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) was implying that he liked the character and manners of the Yemenis; hence he referred himself to be “as” a Yemeni for having something in common with them. Whatever the reason may be, the fact that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) called himself a Yemeni is such a virtue for the people of Yemen that it cannot be underestimated. I have nothing against the Saudis but don't think for a moment that they are more privileged of closer to the deen then anyone else. Anyway I wont bother replying to any messages so don't bother. Don't even know why I reading this forum.

Moderator: “There are some people who attack the creed (`aqida) of al-Azhar.†The shaykh responds, noting that the Arabic usage was strange, signifying that “all of Azhar is `aqida only…†Shaykh al-Qaradawi: “You mean, they attack the creed of the Ash`ari?†Moderator: “Yes.†Shaykh al-Qaradawi: “Azhar is not the only (representative) of the Ash`ari creed! The entire ummah is Ash`ari! Azhar is Ash`ari! Zaytuna (in Tunis) is Ash`ari. Deoband is Ash`ari. Nadaw al-‘Ulema is Ash`ari. The great schools in Pakistan are Ash`ari.†“The Salafis are a small minority and there are even parts of Saudi Arabia which are not Salafi such as parts of Hijaz and the East. The majority of the Muslim Community is Ash`ari.†Translated by Suhaib Webb (you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_you are not allowed to post links yetsuhaibwebb(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/Islam-studies/unity-in-action-shaykh-al-qaradawi-defends-the-creed-of-al-azhar-university/"]you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_you are not allowed to post links yetsuhaibwebb(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/Islam-studies/un...har-university/[/url]
  7. Wird Al Imam An-nawawi

Imam Al Nawawi (May Allah accept him) was also the author of Minhaj Al Talibeen (the most important book in Shafi'i fiqh) so I think his understanding of the halal and haram is quite sound.
