  1. Fallen Again

Salaam Here is a story - which shows how Allah (swt) mercy... THE QUEST FOR Allah’S MERCY Prepared by Muhammad Alshareef It was narrated that in the days that Musa (as) wandered with Bani Israaeel in the desert a grizzly drought befell them. Together, they all raised their hands towards the heavens praying for the blessed rain. Then, to the astonishment of Musa (as) and all those watching, the few clouds that scattered the sky vanished, the heat scorched down, and the drought intensified. It was revealed to Musa that there was a sinner amongst Bani Israaeel that had disobeyed Allah for more than 70 years of his life (committing all kind of sin). "Let him separate himself from the congregation," Allah told Musa. "Only then shall I shower you all with rain." Musa (as) called out to the throngs of humanity, "There is a person amongst us who has disobeyed Allah for 70 years. Let him separate himself from the congregation and only then shall we be rescued from the drought." That man, waited, looking left and right, hoping that someone else would step forward but no one did. Sweat poured from his brow and he knew he was the one. If he stayed amongst the congregation all would die of thirst; yet, if he stepped forward he would be humiliated for all eternity. He raised his hands with sincerity he had never known before, with humility he had never tasted, tears poured on both cheeks, "O Allah, have mercy on me! O Allah, hide my sins! O Allah, forgive me!" As Musa (as) and Bani Israaeel awaited for the sinner to step forward, the clouds hugged the sky and the rain poured. Musa (as) asked Allah ta'aala, "O Allah, you blessed us with rain even though that sinner did not come forward." And Allah ta'aala replied, "O Musa, it is for the repentance of that very person that I blessed all of Bani Israaeel with water." Musa, wanting to know who was this blessed man, asked, "Show him to me O Allah!" Allah ta'aala replied, "O Musa, I hid his sins for 70 years. Do you think that after his repentance I shall expose him?" ma sallam

AL-ISTIGHFAAR (SEEKING FORGIVENESS) Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah Majmoo` al-Fataawaa The Messenger of Allah, said: "The master of invocations for forgiveness is that the servant says: ''Allãhumma 'anta rabbee, lã 'ilãha 'illã 'anta, khalaqtanee, wa 'anã `abduka, wa 'anã `alã `ahdika wa wa`dika mastata`tu, 'a`outhu bika min sharri ma sana`tu, 'aboo'u laka bini`matika 'alayya, wa 'aboo'u bithambee, faghfirlee fa'innahu lã yaghfiru 'aththunooba 'illã 'anta.. O' my Allah You are my Lord, there is no 'ilãh but You. You created me, and I am your bondservant, and I will stick to my covenant and promise [of faith and sincere obedience] to You, as to my ability. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done, I acknowledge, to You, your bounties upon me, and I acknowledge, to You, my sin. Thus forgive me, for none forgives sins except You. . Whoever says this as he enters upon evening, then, dies that night, he would enter Paradise; and if one says this as he enters upon morning, then, dies that day, he would enter Paradise". [Al-Bukhari] The servant is always in the blessings of Allah which necessitate thankfulness, and in sinfulness which requires seeking forgiveness. Both of these matters are required and essential for the servant at all times, as the servant does not cease to alternate between Allaah's (various) favors and blessings, and does not cease to be in need of repentance and seeking forgiveness. This is why the Master of the Children of Adam, and the Leader of the Pious, Muhammad, sought forgiveness in all circumstances. He said in an authentic hadeeth reported by al-Bukhari: "O people, repent to your Lord, for verily I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to him more than seventy times in a day." It is reported in Saheeh Muslim that he said: "I seek forgiveness one hundred times in a day." [Muslim] `Abdullah ibn `Umar said: We counted in a single sitting the Messenger of Allah, , saying one hundred times: "Rabbi-ghfir-lee wa tub `alayya innaka anta-t-tawwabu-l-ghafoor." [My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, verily you are Acceptor of Repentance, Oft-Forgiving.] [Ahmad, Abu Dawood, Ibn Maajah] This is why seeking forgiveness was legislated at the end of actions. Allah the Exalted said: "Those who seek forgiveness before dawn (at late night)." [Aal `Imraan (3):17] Some of them said: "Give life to your nights by performing Prayer, and when the time of late night comes, concern yourself with seeking forgiveness." t is related in the Saheeh that the Prophet, , when he finished his Prayer, he would seek forgiveness three times and say: "Allãhumma 'antas-salamu, wa minkas-salãmu, tabãrakta yã thaljalãli wal 'ikrãmi." [O' my 'ilãh You are 'As-Salãm [One free from flaws], and from You comes Salãm [peace, or safety], blessed are Thee O' haver of glory and kindness.] [Muslim] Allah says: "And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." [al-Muzammil (73):20] (Even) After the Prophet conveyed the Message, fought in the path of Allah with true jihad, and performed what Allah ordered more than anyone else, Allah commanded his Prophet (to perform istighfar), as He the Exalted said:"When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, and you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes, then exalt [Him] with praise of your Lord and ask forgiveness of Him. Indeed, He is ever Accepting of repentance." [An-Nasr (110):1-3] This is why the Deen is established with Tawheed and Istighfaar, as Allah the Exalted said: "Alif Lam Ra. [This is] a Book whose verses are perfected an then presented in detail from [one who is] Wise and Acquainted. [Through a messenger, saying], "Do not worship except Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a warner and a bringer of good tidings," and [saying], "Seek forgiveness of your Lord and repent to Him, [and] He will let you enjoy a good provision." [/b][Hood (11):1-3] And Allah says: "So take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." [Fussilat (41):6]. And He says: "So know [O Muhammad], that there is no deity except Allah and ask forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women." [Muhammad (47):19] This is why it was it came in a narration: "The Shaytan said: People are destroyed with sins, and they destroy me with 'Laa ilaha ill Allah' and seeking forgiveness." [Reported by Ibn Abi Asim and Abu Ya`la, ] . Yoonus, `alayhis salam, said: "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." [al-Anbiyaa' (21):87] The Prophet, , when he would ride his mount, he would praise Allah, then say Allahu Akbar three times, then say: "Lã 'ilãha 'illa 'anta subhãnaka, thalamtu nafsee, faghfirlee." [i testify that there is no 'ilah except You, Glorified are You, I have transgressed upon myself, so forgive me] [Abu Dawood and at-Tirmidhi, who said it is hasan saheeh] Expiation of a gathering with which the gathering is completed is (the supplication):"Subhãnaka 'allãhumma wa bihamdika, 'ash-hadu 'an lã 'ilãha 'illa 'anta, 'astaghfiruka wa 'atoobu 'ilayka." [Glorified are You O' my 'ilãh and I am in Your praise, I testify that there is no 'ilah except You, I ask Your forgiveness and repent unto You.] [Abu Dawood and At-Tirmidhee] Allah knows best, and may His blessings and peace be upon [the Prophet] Muhammad. ma sallam "you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_www.angelfire(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/mo2/scarves/sinsandrepentence.html"]Source[/url]

REPENTENCE By Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-'Uthaimeen Repentance: means turning back from disobeying Allaah to obeying Him. Repentance: is beloved to Allaah, as He says: "Verily, Allaah loves those who repent and those who purify themselves." [surah Al-Baqarah: 222] Repentance: is an obligation on every believer. Allaah says: "O you who believe! Turn to Allaah in sincere repentance!" [surah At-Tahreem: 8] Repentance: is from the means of attaining success. Allaah says: "And O believers, all of you, repent to Allaah in order that you may be successful." [surah An-Noor: 31] Success is when someone gets what he is looking for and is saved from what he is running from. Through Sincere Repentance: Allaah forgives sins no matter how big they are and no matter how many they are. Allaah says: "Say: O My slaves who have transgressed against themselves (because of sins), do not despair from the mercy of Allaah. Verily, Allaah forgives all sins. Verily, He is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [Surah Az-Zumar: 53] O my brother who has fallen into sins, do not despair from the mercy of your Lord, for indeed the door to repentance is open until the sun rises from the west. The Prophet SAWS said: "Verily, Allaah extends His hand out at night in order to accept the repentance of the sinner by day. And He extends His hand out during the day in order to accept the repentance of the sinner by night, until (the day) when the sun will rise from its west." [Reported by Muslim] And how many people have repented to Allaah from numerous and enormous sins and Allaah has accepted their repentance? Allaah says: "And those who do not supplicate to another god along with Allaah, nor do they kill a person that Allaah has made forbidden (to kill) except with just cause, nor do they commit fornication. And whoever does this shall receive the punishment. The torment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection and he will abide therein in disgrace. Except those who repent and believe and do righteous deeds, for those, Allaah will change their sins into good deeds. And Allaah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful." [surah Al-Furqaan: 68-70] Sincere Repentance: must meet five conditions (in order to be accepted), which are: 1. Sincerity to Allaah, the Most High: This is by the person doing it only for the sake of Allaah and seeking His reward and salvation from His punishment. 2. Remorse: for the sin that was committed, such that he is sad he did it and wishes he had never done it. 3. Ceasing: to commit the sin immediately. If the sin was against Allaah, then he should (1) stop doing it if it was an unlawful act, or (2) hasten to do it if it was an obligation that he abandoned doing. And if the sin was against a created being (such as humans), then he should hasten to free himself from it, whether by returning it back to him or seeking his forgiveness and pardon. 4. Determination: to not go back to doing that sin again in the future. 5. The repentance should not occur before the time when its acceptance is terminated, either by death or by the sun rising from the west. Allaah says: "Repentance is of no effect for those who commit sins constantly until when death faces one of them, he says: Verily I repent now." The Prophet SAWS said: "Whoever repents before the sun rises from its west, Allaah will accept his repentance." [Reported by Muslim] O Allaah, grant us the sincere repentance and accept it from us, verily You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
  4. Fallen Again

salaam brother Allah (swt) created human with fragility - but Allah (swt) is merciful, DON'T UNDERESTIMATE - Allah (SWT) MERCY...There are many verse from quran and hadith which shows how Allah (swt) forgives - If you repent with sincerity, your sins could be like the foam of river or like the sand of desert or equal to leaves of trees - Allah (swt) will forgive you... Allah (swt) says in the Quran: Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful. 39:53 Allah (swt) also says: "But without doubt I am (also) He that forgives again and again to those who repent believe and do right who in fine are ready to receive true guidance." 20:82 'O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and put your hope in Me, I will forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, if your sins were to reach the clouds of the sky, and you were to ask me for forgiveness, I will forgive you and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, if you were to come to Me with sins nearly the size of the earth, and you were to meet Me not associating anything with Me, then I would bring you forgiveness nearly the size of (the earth).'" (Reported by al-Tirmidhi; Saheeh al-Jaami', 4338). It is sufficient to also quote the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): "The one who repents from his sin is like the one who did not sin in the first place." (Reported by Ibn Maajah; Saheeh al-Jaami', 3008). The guiding principle for us Muslims is to refer to the Qur'aan and Sunnah when we look for rulings, solutions and remedies. When we refer this matter to the Qur'aan, we find that Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): "Say: 'O My slaves who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allaah, verily Allaah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And turn in repentance and in obedience with true faith to your Lord and submit to Him." [al-Zumar 39:53-54]. A question people ask is how do you know Allah (swt) has forgiven you...The answer given is this - if you stop committing the sin, this is the sign Allah (swt) has forgiven you..For example, if you have a habit of committing Zina, being dishonest, stealing and so on, but you repent, and don't commit these sins again, this is the sign Allah (swt) has forgiven you...(this the answer by our great past scholars) Thus after repenting and asking for forgiveness, we must mend our ways and not go back to Kufr and fall prey to the tactics of Satan (Iblis) again. While we expect Allah to be kind and merciful and forgive our major and minor sins, we are unforgiving towards our fellow human beings! As long as the person returns to Allah (swt) and asks Allah (swt) to forgive them, then perhaps by the Mercy of Allah (swt) they will be forgiven, ameen – and may Allah (swt) have mercy on us all, ameen. ma sallam

  14. Dua

Salaam Brother - hope you are recovering and doing well I think what you are trying to say is, doing the wazifa of the beautiful names of Allah (swt)….Brother, some accept this practice whilst others see it as a form of bidah. I don’t want to be drawn in to such a debate with other people. However, I will guide you to couple of website which will help you and also I will point out some hadith that will be beneficial: "you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_www.angelfire(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/mo2/scarves/Allah.html"]Explanation of Allah (swt) Names[/url] "you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_wahiduddin(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/words/99_pages/wazifa_practice.htm"]Wazifa of Allah (swt) names[/url] Attributes of the Names of Allah Allah deserves to have highly good names. The people are asked, in Hadith, to remember Allah with pleasant sounding words. Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (r.a.) reported that according to the Prophet (saw) Allah's names were ninety-nine. The person, who remembers all the names of Allah, and revises them too, punctually, shall definitely be entitled to enter Paradise. Imam Bukhari (r.a.)( Volume 9, Book 93, Number 489) and Imam Muslim (r.a.), both, have emphasised the importance of the Hadith which contained the merits of the recitation of the Names of Allah "Shall I not inform you of the best of your deeds, the most sanctified in the sight of your Lord, that raises your ranks and that is better for you than spending in gold and money and better for you than meeting your enemy, striking their necks and them striking your necks?" They said, "Certainly [tell us]." He said, "It is dhikr (the remembrance of Allah)." [Recorded by Al-Tirmidhi. Sahih by al-Albani. Muhammad Naasir al-Deen al-Albani, Sahih al-Jaami al-Sagher, vol. 1, p. 612] Do dhikr (remembrance of Allah) For example, say "ya" ("Oh") before any of the above Names of Allah, swt, i.e. say "Ya-Rahman" or "Ya-Raheem", etc. It is recommended to repeat names an odd number of times such as eleven times. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: There are two qualities or characteristics which will not be returned by any Muslim without his entering Paradise. While they are easy, those who act upon them are few. One should say: "Glory be to Allah" (SubnahAllah) ten times after every prayer, "Praise be to Allah" (Alhamdulilah) ten times and "Allah is Most Great" (Allahu Akbar) ten times. That is a hundred and fifty on the tongue, but one thousand and five hundred on the scale. When he goes to bed, he should say: "Allah is Most Great" thirty-four times, "Praise be to Allah" thirty-three times, and Glory be to Allah thirty-three times, for that is a hundred on the tongue and a thousand on the scale. (He said:) I saw the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) counting them on his hand. The people asked: Apostle of Allah! How is it that while they are easy, those who act upon them are few? He replied: The Devil comes to one of you when he goes to bed and he makes him sleep, before he utters them, and he comes to him while he is engaged in prayer and calls a need to his mind before he utters them. 25. Abandoning Salah

Salaam Brothers and Sisters Insa'Allah this will benefit everyone.. After the Shahaadah, (declaration of faith), the most important duty upon the Muslim is performing the salaah (obligatory Prayers). Indeed, salaah is the thing that distinguishes between the Muslim and the kaafir (disbeliever) [according to the majority of scholars]. The Prophet, saw, said;'Between a man and disbelief is (only) the abandonment of salaah.' [Muslim] He, saw, also said;'The first thing for which the servant (of Allaah) shall be called to account for (on the Day of Reckoning), is the salaah. If it was good, then the rest of his deeds are good and if it was bad, then the rest of his deeds are bad.' [At-Tabaraanee] Allaah, swt, and then His Prophet, Muhamaad, saw, emphasised the importance of salaah (Prayer). He, swt, said: "Then there has succeeded them a posterity who have given up prayers and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell." [Maryam:59] Also: "Every person is a pledge for what he has earned. Except those on the Right; (i.e. the pious true believers). In Gardens, they will ask one another concerning the guilty, 'What has caused you to enter Hell?' They will say, 'We were not of those who used to pray ..." [Al-Muddathir: 38-43] So to all those who abandon the prescribed Prayers, we ask: what will be your position on that terrible day when Allaah will resurrect you? On the Day of Judgement the Prophet, saw, will indeed turn you away from his Hawd, (the Pond), where the true believers will be gathered with him, all because you have abandoned the salaah! Is this the condition you wish to be in? He, saw, will certainly know his true followers, who will be recognised from the brightness of their skins, this being the traces of their Wudoo (ablutions). So a person who abandons salaah will also be recognised since there will be no signs of the wudoo on him! Know that Allaah, swt, has cursed Shaytaan and on the Day of Judgement he will be thrown into Hell because he was too proud to prostrate to Aadam, as, when ordered to. Such is the condition of the one who failed to prostrate to Allaah, swt and disobeyed His orders, so how will it be for the person who failed to prostrate in salaah? We should seriously ponder over the following example, which shows how worried the Khaleefah Umar ibn Al-khattaab, ra, was about the affairs of the people under his rule, especially their salaah. When he was stabbed, he fell down unconscious and when he, ra, regained consciousness, the very first thing he uttered was, 'Did the people pray?' They said 'Yes' to which he replied, 'No Islaam for him, he who abandons salaah.' Some of the Companions even held that abandoning the obligatory duty of salaah was an act of Kufr! Ibn Masoud, ra, said, 'Whoever leaves the salaah has no religion (i.e. he is not a Muslim)' and Abu Ad-Dardaa, ra, said, 'He who doesn't perform salaah, has no Eemaan (belief).' From the aforementioned haadeeths and verses of the Qur'aan, we can see clear warnings regarding those who abandon salaah. Do not fool yourself into believing that you are still young or that you are too busy trying to earn a living for your family. These excuses will not be valid in front of your Lord and this is a dangerous game we are playing with the Master of the Universe. Every soul will taste death. It could even be you in the next hour, if Allaah, swt, wishes. Spare a moment to think about yourself and how you will fare tomorrow in the presence of Allaah, the Almighty, the Supreme. Do we want to depart in such a wretched state, without performing such a momentous obligation? Allaah, swt, says: "And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance then avail him?" [Al-Fajr: 23] On the Day of Judgement, man will remember that he abandoned salaah, yet he will cry to return to the world so that he could Pray. But there will be no return. Now he must stand before Allaah. Now he will realise that: "None punishes as He will punish on that Day." [Al-Fajr: 25] It is a tragedy that one recognises the truth of his condition and yet still continues in the old ways and turns away. If we really believe in Allaah and the Last Day, if we believe in the Judgment and punishment, we should take Allaah's orders very seriously and eagerly hasten to fulfill them. We should rush to pray and prostrate to Allaah, expelling the whisperings of the deceiving Shaytaan. Know that Shaytaan is good at making the salaah seem like a chore or a waste of energy. But the true believer will know that salaah is the greatest opportunity for every Muslim to have their sins forgiven, to earn Allaah's huge rewards and to get to the Jannah that He has promised for all those who bow down and prostrate to their Lord. These are the ones who love to obey the commands of their Lord, and who are constant in Praying their salaah. Finally, let us heed Allaah's warning: "And who does greater wrong than he who is reminded of the revelation of His Lord, then he turns aside therefrom? Verily, We shall exact retribution from the guilty" [As-Sajdah:22] And remember Allaah's glad tidings (interpretation of the meaning): "Successful indeed are the believers. Those who offer their Prayers with humility and attentiveness (khushoo)." [Al-Muminoon: 12] "(they are those) who are certain that they are going to meet their Lord and that unto Him they are going to return." [Al-Baqarah:45-46] .............................. .............................. .............................. ......................... Allaah Most High says (which means): Then there has succeeded them a generation which has given up prayers (i.e, made their prayers to be lost, either by not offering them at all or by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their proper fixed times, etc.) and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell. Except those who repent and believe in the Oneness of Allaah and His Messenger, and act righteously. [Maryam, 19:59-60] And He said (which means): Woe unto those performers of prayers (hypocrites) who are unmindful of their prayers (i.e., delay their prayer from its stated fixed time). [Al-Maa'oon, 107:4-5] And He said (which means): O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allaah. And whosoever does that, then they are the losers. [Al-Munaafiqoon, 63:9] The commentators of the Qur'aan say: "The 'remembrance of Allaah' mentioned in these Aayaat means the five daily prayers. If anyone is so busy in buying and selling, or with his daily work of earning a livelihood, or with his children, that he cannot perform prayers on time, he will be among the losers." The first thing which will be judged among a man's deeds on the Day of Resurrection is the Prayer. If this is in good order then he will succeed and prosper but if it is defective then he will fail and will be a loser. [Nasaa'ee, Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah] Informing us about the inhabitants of Hell, Allaah Most High says (which means): (The people in Hell will be asked:) What has caused you to enter Hell? They will say: We were not among those who used to pray. Nor did we feed the poor. And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allaah hated) with vain-talkers. And we used to belie thc Day of Recompense. Until there came to us that which is certain (i.e., death). So no Intercession of intercessors will benefit them [Al-Muddaththir, 74:42-48] The Prophet (peace be upon him) said (which means): The covenant between us and them is prayer, so if anyone abandons it he has become a disbeliever. [Ahmad, Tirmidhee, Nasaa'ee] And he (peace be upon him) also said (which means): What lies between a man and disbelief is the abandonment of prayer. [Muslim, Aboo Dawood, Nasaa'ee] And he (peace be upon him) said (which means): If anyone abandons prayer deliberately then he has no claim upon Allaah. [ibn Maajah, ADAB-AL-MUFRAD of Bukhaari, Tabaraani] And he (peace be upon him) said (which means): I have been ordered to fight against the people until they testify that there is no one worthy of worship but Allaah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah and until they perform the Prayers and pay the Zakaah, and if they do so they will have gained protection from me for their lives and property, unless [they do acts that are punishable] in accordance with Islaam, and their reckoning will be with Allaah Most High. [bukhaari, Muslim] And he (peace be upon him), mentioning the prayer, said (which means): If anyone keeps to it, it will be light, evidence and salvation for him on the Day of Resurrection. But if anyone does not keep to it, it will not be light, evidence and salvation for him on the Day of Resurrection, and on that Day he will be associated with Qaroon, Pharaoh, Hamaan and Ubayy bin Khalaf (an enemy of Islaam from among the Quraysh). [Ahmad, Tabaraanee, Ibn Hibbaan] Ibn Al-Qayyim explained: The person who abandons prayer will be raised with such a foursome because his neglect of player may be due to his involvement with his property, his country, his administrative work or his trade. Therefore, if he was involved with his property he will be ressurected with Qaroon; if with his country, then with Pharaoh; if with his administrative work, then with Hamaan; and if with his trade then with Ubayy bin Khalaf, the trader among the disbelievers of Makkah. `Abdullaah bin Shaqeeq Al-`Aqeelee [Tabi`ee] (Tabi`ee: a successor to the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him)] said: "The Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not consider the abandonment of any good deed to be disbelief except the abandonment of the Prayer." [Tirmidhee, Haakim] When `Ali ® was asked about a women who did not pray, he said: "The one who does not pray is a disbeliever." [Tirmidhee, Haakim] Ibn Mas`ood ® said: "The one who abandons the prayer has no religion." [Narrated by Muhammad bin Nasr Al Mirwazee] Ibn `Abbaas ® said: "The one who leaves off a single prayer deliberately will find, when he meets Allaah Most High, that He is angry with him." [Narrated by Muhammad bin Nasr Al-Mirwazee, Ibn Abdul-Barr] Ibn Hazm said: "There is no greater sin after polytheism than delaying a prayer until its time has passed and killing a believer without a just cause." Ibraheem Al-Nakha`ee said: "The one who has abandoned the prayer has become a disbeliever." Aboo Ayyoob Al-Sakhtiyanee said something similar to this. Ibn Hazm writes conclusively: "It has come from `Umar, `Abdur-Rahmaan bin `Awf, Mu`aadh bin Jabal, Aboo Hurayrah and other companions that anyone who skips one obligatory prayer until its time has finished becomes an apostate. We find no difference of opinion among them on this point." [Al-Muhla by Ibn Hazm 2/326] Also this was mentioned by Al Mundhiree in AT-TARGHEEB WA AT-TARHEEB. Then the comments: A group of Companions and those who came after them believed that an intentional decision to skip one prayer until its time is completely finished makes one an unbeliever. The people of this opinion include `Umar bin Al-Khattaab, `Abdullaah bin Mas`ood, `Abdullaah bin `Abbaas, Mu`aadh bin Jabal, Jaabir bin `Abdullaah and Aboo Ad-Dardaa'. Among the non-companions who shared this view were: Ibn Hanbal, Ishaaq bin Rahwayh, `Abdullaah bin Mubaarak, An-Nakha`ee, Al-Hakam bin `Utaibah, Aboo Ayyoob As-Sakhtiyaanee, Aboo Dawood At-Tiyaalisee, Aboo Bakr bin Aboo Shaybah, Zuhayr ibn Harb, and others.
