  1. Islam In Greece

:D I saw a documentary on how suspiciously and unfairly the Muslims there are treated, especially after 9/11. They do not even get Greek citizenship just because they are not orthodox baptized Christians. Some of the people there have been there for a few generations, yet their citizenship and ID were taken back from them. They work low-paying jobs in dangerous situtations--some for the Olympics. They ask Muslim world to boycott the Olympics. Some of them come from the Balkans, some from India, Pakistan and some Arab. If anyone else has anymore information, please share it with us. :D
  2. Islam in Egypt

:D I'm sure we have egyptians on this forum, right? So please share stuff with us (both sides of the "coin"). :D
  3. Islam in Albania

:D Anyone? I thought someone said that he/she is from there. If so, please share what you know.
  4. Islam in Bangladesh

:D Come on people. Why isn't anyone talking about Bangladesh?
  5. Islam In Uzbekistan

:sl: See, another country know one has spoken about yet. Surprising, considering how Imam Bukhari was from Bukhara, Uzbekistan. I remember we had a member or two (muslim) from China. If we can get that, surely, we have some silent uzbek, right? Please post up, don't be shy about it! Ok, but don't post about food, politics, etc. This is not what this section of the forum is for, but people keep doing that! :sl:

  11. Islam In Armenia

:sl: Anyone from there? I've met many hostile Armenian christians who neither like our deen, nor us. Some of them have lived in the Middle East and Gulf Arab countries, and Iran. With all the migration and diversity in every corner of the world, I am hoping a Muslim here is either Armenian or knows someone who is! Please post some good news! :sl:
  12. Islam In Algeria

:sl: SubhanAllah, we have yet to see a topic on this, even though muslims do live there! What's up with that? How are things there these days? Is hijab and beard still banned to the point of imprisonment and/or death penalty? AstaghfirAllah! May Allah help the muslims there! Are there any proper mashaykh there on the correct minhaj (quran, sunnah and take first three generations as their role models)? Hope some unapologetic ones do exist there! :sl:
  13. :sl: Of course, they won't talk about this in the mainstream western media. SubhanAllah, Islamophobia in a muslim-majority land!

Contrary to popular belief, shaheed Sayyid Qutb (rahimahullah) actually wrote pretty good stuff. Sure it may not be for everyone, but I don't think it is fair to discredit his work, esp. if done so without even checking it out yourself. It is good that it can be downloaded because this is one of those books that is banned in some places, such as Misr. The only work of his, which I was told by a Masriyah, that one is allowed to own is Fee Dhilal Al Quraan (In the Shade of the Quran). Allahul Mustaan! So please don't take it for granted. Also, I don't know if this applies to all books written by him or even by Zaynab Ghazali (rahimahallah), but please not that certain governments, such as the Misri one, censor certain things even (or it seems just) in Islamic material. Allahu alam.
  15. Islam in South Africa

We will draw the portrait of the past on the slipping star of the sky Framing it with our wishes And sealing it with our names The wing of love is directing the ship And hope is the mast A memory is the Shipmaster And the twists of destiny is the Shore We left our grief to God And our tears are no longer running And the time that made us weep Is no longer making us weep
