  2. Eating Habits (Vegetarians And Vegans)

I have not yet heard that being a vegetarian/vegan is haraam, but I it is not allowed to make the eating of meat haram. We should not go as far as condemning the eating the meat.
  3. Suicide

Remember that repentance is not accepted after death and how can you repent when you kill yourself. Yes, you might be forgiven by the mercy of Allah subhaanahu wa ta'ala. However, the punishment for suicide will not be lifted because you could not repent in this world. It is sure that suicide leads to hellfire and even if they may be granted out, they still have to serve in hellfire for very long time. God Almighty would not let anyone commit suicide unless this is already a doomed person. Suicide is a dishonorable way of dying. This kind of death indicates that this person was a corrupt and evil person while alive and now when dying. How do you know that you are not considered Kafir, because there is a saying by Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wassallam. "A person is a kafir at the time he steals, but becomes a Muslim/Believer again when he repents. A person is a kafir at the time he sheds blood, but becomes a Believer again when he repents (capital punishment)." You can apply/imply: A person who commits suicide is a disbeliever at the time of committing suicide, but becomes a believer again after repentance!?!? How can he or she repent when already dead?

Please, listen and spread this Khutba to show your support towards the Syrian people who are suffering under an evil regime. This sermon is about this calamity and we must not ignore this calamity. 5. Humility

God Almighty chose him to be the Leader of Mankind. It is part of this message to tell the people that he, Muhammad, is the Leader of Mankind and He Must be followed. He as a person was the most humble of all, but there are cases where he needs to convey the message. This includes new about himself. Every message is a direct order from Allah and there is not guilt on him for being arrogant or self-praising. You have not studied fiqh, that is why you don't know when praising yourself is forbidden, disliked, permissable, recommended, or even mandatory. The prophets and messengers must tell the truth and one of the truths about Muhammad is that he is the leader of mankind. If he had not conveyed this part of the message, he would be guilty of omitting important parts of the message and guilty of lying. The four pillars of manhood, according to Imam Al Shafi'ee, are Right Worship, Good Manners, Humility/Humbleness, and Generosity. In all the three pillars, Muhammad, was the best of all mankind. It is not boasting, but the truth.
  6. What three facts/events make Muhammad of Islam the most influencial person in religious history?
  7. Who Gets To Go To Heaven?

There is no other straight path to Paradise, except Islam. All the other religions and anti-religions are straight paths to hell. There are only two final destinations which are Paradise and Hellfire. I prefer to say Paradise instead of Heaven because Paradise is different from the Seven Heavens which we call in Arabic "Samawat" or "Samaa'a" (singular). Samawat are the seven heavens which are above the earth. You need to understand that there is a difference between Heaven, Paradise, and the Afterlife (Day of Judgement). I am sure you are asking about Paradise which we call Jannah which are truly the Gardens of Eden. Let me show you the difference between Jannah, Samawat, and Akhira. SAMAWAT is the Arabic plural term for heaven i.e. heavens. The first heaven is what we nowadays call the outer space or the universe. The entire area or room/volume that is filled with stars, galaxies, quasars, planets, and other objects is the First Heaven. God Almighty mentioned in Qur'an that He adorned the first/lowest heaven with stars. Then there are six more heavens above this first heaven. We don't know how they look, but we can be sure that they are bright, not dark like the first heaven. The above heavens are crowded with angels. Yes, the heavens are the realms of the angels. JANNAH is Paradise. Jannah is above the Seventh Heaven which is the last heaven of the Seven Heavens. The outmost boundary of the Seventh Heaven is the Lote Tree which is also the beginning of Paradise. We are not on earth. Above the earth is the first heaven where Muhammad met Adam. Above the first heaven is the second heaven where Muhammad met Jesus and John the Baptist. Above the second heaven is the third heaven where Muhammad met Joseph Son of israel. Above the third heaven is the fourth heaven where Muhammad met Enoch. Above the fourth heaven is the fifth heaven where Muhammad met Aaron brother of Moses. Above the fifth heaven is the sixth heaven where Muhammad met Moses. Above the sixth heaven is the seventh heaven where Muhammad met is father Abraham. Above the seventh heaven is Paradise which is sometimes called the Eigth Heaven. Paradise has many levels above the other. The highst possible level of Paradise is called Al Waseelah where Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wassallam will dwell. Above the Paradise is the Kursy of Allah which is a creation of Allah. The literal meaning of the word Kursy is footstool. A human king would sit on a throne while leading his feet upon a footstool. This is just a name, but the Kursy of Allah has a similar function, but in a manner suits Allah's Majesty. The footstool is carried by gigantic angels. Above the kursy there is water. The Kursy of Allah is surrounded by water. Over this water it the Throne of Allah. The Throne of Allah is over water above the Kursy of Allah. Allah does not sit on a throne like a human emperor would sit on it. The name is just for our understanding. We know that a throne or footstool has a certain meaning. It shows the honor of the being who is upon them. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is above His throne in a manner that suits His Majesty. AKHIRA is the afterlife from the time of dying to the final destination. The afterlife is life after death in the hereafter. Every human being from Adam to Adam's last offspring, every jinn being from Lucifer to his last offspring, and every animal from the beginning of creation till the end of the world will die, be in a grave, and will then be resurrected on the Day of Judgement and all of them will be judged according to their deeds. DEATH: When you are dying, you know that you are dying. You won't be unconscious at all. You will be able to see angels descending to you. If you are a person of Jannah, then the angels will be bright. They are the angels of mercy. If you are a person of Hellfire, then the angels will be dark, angels of wrath. JOURNEY OF THE SOUL: After the angels descend, the angel of death descends to take your soul. He will take out your soul and carry it up to the gate of the first heaven. If the soul is pure then the guardians of the Heaven's Gate will open the gate, but otherwise the soul is not allowed to enter. If the soul is not allowed to enter the gate of the First Heaven he will be ordered by Allah to be thrown down to earth with disgrace. If the soul is pure the gatekeeper of the first heaven will open the gate by the permission of Allah. The gatekeepers of the other heavens will also open their gates. This means that this soul will travel with the angel of death through all the seven heavens untill a certain point. Allah will honor this soul and give it the glad tiding of paradise and orders the Angel of Death to bring this soul back to earth to his grave, but in a gentle manner. GRAVE: After the journey of the soul through the seven heavens you will be in the grave until the Resurrection. The body is going to decompose, but the soul will be alive and is able to feel, especially any punishment in the grave. Some people of the grave will be punished, but other will rest in peace and tranquility. For the righteous the time in the grave will seem short, but for the evil the time in the grave will appear very long. The people of Paradise will see their place in Paradise from their graves. They are not able to go there, but they can see it. The people of Hellfire will see their place in Hellfire from their graves. Angels will open windows which let the people of the grave see their final destination. However, there are those who mixed good and bad. They are the ones who are going to be judged on the Day of Judgement. They might see both Hellfire and Paradise, but they will not know until the final judgement where they will go. DAY OF JUDGMENT: After the grave, there will be the Day of Judgment which is the Last Day. It is called the Last Day, because it is the Final Day on Earth. It is a single day, but its length is equivalent to 50000 years on earth. However, for the righteous the day will appear to go by fast, but for the evil the day will go by slowly. The Day of Judgment can be divided into two major phases: Resurrection (Al-Bath) and Accountability (Al-Hisaab) RESURRECTION: This is the first phase and this will take place on planet earth. In this stage of the Day of Judgment we will be on planet earth, not in the heavens or in heaven. There are many signs in Qur'an and Sunnah that indicates that this phase of the Day of Judgment will be on earth while the Accountability will take place in the Seventh Heaven. During the resurrection, the graves will suddenly pop up and the people of the graves come out. Those who did not believe in the afterlife will be scared and empty-hearted because of the surprise. They will run around as if they were drunk, but they are not drunk, but they are afraid of what is happening on earth. They see mountains exploding. They see oceans burning in flames. They experience earthquakes. They experience how planet earth is about to be destroyed while they are alive and on earth. The sun is very close to earth like a supernova. The heat of the sun is therefore very intensive. And because the earth is flattened like pancake there is not gravity andt there will be no atmosphere. There will be not atmosphere protecting us from the rays of the sun. However, the pain of heat does not depend on the closeness of the sun, but on the deeds and faith of the person. The greater the bad deeds and the less righteous the person the more does the heat of the sun torture him or her, but the more righteous the person is the less the sun can harm him or her. There will be only one single spot on earth which will have shade, cool shade. Only righteous people can go under that. The leader of the people of the shade will be Prophet Joseph Son of Jacob Son of Isaak Son of Abraham. There are other ways to earn shade during this part of the Day of Judgment. For example, if a person memorizes Sura Al Baqarah and the other long suras, this person will receive a cloud which will be over him or her as a protection from the heat of the sun and the sun in general. During the resurrection, people go through different situations according to their deeds. During this phase the sun is still there while during the Accountability there is not sun anymore. During this phase no one will see Allah. However, during the Accountability we will be able to see Allah with the exception of His Face/Countenance. After the resurrection of all the people and jinn and animals, there will be a Gathering. People will be Gathered to a specific place which is now Jerusalem. You need to know that there is only one connection between earth and paradise through the heavens. There is only one gateway/tunnel that leads from earth to the heavens and beyond. You also need to know that the beginning of the gateway or the station is Jerusalem. The Heaven's Gate is above Jerusalem and the gateways leads to the seven heavens and beyond. That is why Muhammad first needed to travel to Jerusalem before Ascending to the heavens. However, you are not able to fly with a spaceship through it, because there are closed gates which can only be opened by its Gatekeepers which are angels. ACCOUNTABILITY: After the Resurrection phase there will be the Accountability phase. The Accountablity will be for those who mixed good and bad and their deeds need to be weighed in a scale of justice to determine which one is heavier the good or the bad. Those who did not mix good and bad are already either in Hellfire or Paradise, but those who mix both will be judged. During this stage the nations of the world will enter the venue of the Accountability in a manner similar to the nations that march into the stadiums during the Olympics. The Prophet Muhammad said that his nation will be the largest of all and will be half of all the other nations combined. There will be about 40 to 70 nations entering the venue. The nation that Moses will lead on the day of Accountability will be the second largest nation. Moses will have the largest number of following after Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad also said that there will be prophets who will only be followed by 10 people, other only by 5, and there will be prophets walking alone. There will believers, disbelievers mainly from the people of the book, and hypocrites. During this stage, people will be judged according to their deeds and every person is responsible for their own deeds and faith. No one will be punished for sins others are responsible for. During this stage there will be settlements of accounts. I hit someone in this world, I will be paid back during this stage. If steal someone's money, I will pay it back during that stage. During this stage, people will receive their final judgement and either be sent to Hellfire or Paradise. When all people of Paradise are in Paradise and all people of Hellfire are in Hellfire, an angel will slaughter death which means that the people of Hellfire will remain in Hellfire and there will be no death, while the people of Paradise will be in Paradise and there will be no death. ========================= The difference between Humans/Jinn and the animals are that animals do not have freewill, or just very limited freewill. God Al Mighty make them responsible for their deeds and settle the accounts among the animals with justice. However, animals will be turned into dust after all the settlement of accounts. They will not enter hellfire nor paradise, because they did not have freewill or the freedom of thinking or the freedom of choice to choose between right and wrong. Hellfire and Paradise are only created for Human Being and Jinn. The Righteous Jinn and Humans will enter Paradise while those who freely chose to rebel against God and his Messengers are going to be dwellers of hellfire. You need to realize the Paradise is not even created for angels. The reward is only for the God-fearing Humans and the God-fearing Jinn. The angels of Paradise are there only to serve the dwellers of Paradise, although the angels do much more good deeds and worship Allah constantly without pause. Human beings can never catch up with angels with regards to worship and submitting to Allah, but still the reward of Paradise for the Humans and the Jinn who are righteous. There reason for that is that God Almighty created Angels that way already. They are created from light and they do not have freedom of thinking. Angels are created without desires. They are unable to commit sins. That is why Allah gives the reward of Paradise only to the humans and jinn who are created with Freedom of Choosing the good or bad. Angels are also not able to commit sins and therefore there is not repentance from Angels. It is more valuable in the sight of Allah when a human being or even a jinn commits a sin or an act of disbelief and then repents sincerely. This is something Allah loves and repentance is rewarded better than mere good deeds. Allah said that if humans never committed sins, then He would have destroyed the human race and replaced it with another creature who is weak and commits sins and then repents from that. Repentance is like a father getting back his lost son. ================== We can enter Paradise/Jannah only by the mercy of Allah. In fact, we are all destined to go to Hellfire, but due to the Mercy of Allah, He rescues many of His slaves from it and grants them to enter Paradise. Entering Paradise is by the Mercy of Allah only. Paradise is not a payback for our good deeds. No one can enter Paradise through the good deeds, but only by the Mercy of Allah. 8. Building Fee-based Membership Site

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahee wa Barakatu, I am planning to build a fee-based membership website. I have been thinking of having a Blog or Forum, but turn it into a fee-based (read-only) membership site where customers can read ebooks etc. However, I am ready for other options, too. What are good ways to build such a site. Is Joomla a good tool?
  9. Use this problem to imagine: Imagine you have that in your grave and you are not able to stop it. Moreover, it is getting stronger and more severe continuously and meanwhile someone pokes your ears and eyes with a needle. Suffering in dunya maybe severe, but suffering in akhira is much more severe and unbearable. Every time you have the annoying ringing, think about suffering in akhira. This will make your worldy seem insignificant and you might even accept this problem until it does not even bother you anymore.
  10. One of the most vital factor for me to accept Islam was that I identified the Islamic lifestyle the most resembling to the lifestyle of the prophets. Additionally, all the lies against Islam caused me to regard Islam as the truth. Their lies, according to my perception, were a testimony of the truthfulness of Islam. My thinking: "If the Pope lies about Islam, then Islam must be the truth" If there is something wrong with a religion then just point out the problems directly, because lies are only necessary if there is nothing wrong to be found. They could not find any fault; therefore, their only weapon was lying. However, their lying was the gateway from myself to the truth, hahaha.
  11. Most Influencial Person In Religious History

This is not a thread about who is the most influencial, but about the events that make Muhammad the most influencial human being on earth of all time. I need three specific events such as the Treaty of Hudaybiyah.
  12. God's Corrupted Word

Is it permissible for a Muslim to obtain the Injeel (Gospel) to find out the words of Allaah to His slave and Messenger ‘Eesa (Jesus – peace be upon him)? (you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_islam-qa(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/en/ref/10817/scriptures"]you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_islam-qa(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/en/ref/10817/scriptures[/url] Praise be to Allaah. It is not permissible to obtain any of the previous scriptures which came before the Qur’aan, such as the Injeel (Gospel or New Testament), Tawraat (Torah or Old Testament) and others, for two reasons. The first reason is that anything in them that is beneficial has been explained by Allaah in the Qur’aan. The second reason is that the Qur’aan frees us from any need for these books. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “It is He Who has sent down the Book (the Qur’aan) to you (Muhammad) with truth, confirming what came before it [Aal ‘Imraan 3:3] “And We have sent down to you (O Muhammad) the Book (this Qur’aan) in truth, confirming the Scripture that came before it and Mohaymin (trustworthy in highness and a witness) over it (old Scriptures). So judge among them by what Allaah has revealed [al-Maa’idah 5:48] So whatever good may be in the previous books is to be found in the Qur’aan. With regard to the questioner’s statement that he wants to find out what Allaah said to His slave and Messenger ‘Eesa, this information is to be found in what Allaah has told us in the Qur’aan. So there is no need to look elsewhere. Moreover, the Injeel (Gospel) that is extant today is distorted. The evidence for that is the fact that there are four Gospels which contradict one another; there is no one Gospel which can be relied upon. But the seeker of knowledge who has sufficient knowledge to be able to tell truth from falsehood, may be allowed to read (the previous scriptures) in order to refute the falsehood found therein or to leave the followers of the scriptures with no excuse for not knowing that they are false. Majmoo’ Fataawa wa Rasaa’il Fadeelat al-Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him), vol. 1, p. 32-33
  13. God's Corrupted Word

What sura in the Quran is related or mentions about the curruption of the Torah and Gospel? (you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_islam-qa(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/en/ref/2001/torah"]you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_islam-qa(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/en/ref/2001/torah[/url] Praise be to Allaah. Allaah says about the Jews (interpretation of the meaning): “Do you (faithful believers) covet that they will belive in your religion in spite of the fact that a party of them (Jewish rabbis) used to hear the Word of Allaah (the Tawraat), then they used to change it knowingly after they understood it?†[al-Baqarah 2:75] Qutaadah said: “The phrase ‘then they used to change it knowingly after they understood it’ refers to the Jews, who used to hear the words of Allaah, then they altered it after they had understood what it meant.†Abu ‘Aaliyah said: “They took what Allaah had revealed in their Book describing Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and changed its meaning.†Ibn Zayd said: “The phrase ‘[they] used to hear the Word of Allaah (the Tawraat), then they used to change it’ refers to the Tawraat which Allaah revealed to them; they changed it, making what it permitted forbidden, and what was forbidden allowed, changing the truth to falsehood and falsehood to truth…†[Tafseer Ibn Katheer] Allaah also said (interpretation of the meaning): “Among those who are Jews, there are some who displace words from (their) right places and say: ‘We hear your word (O Muhammad) and disobey,’ and ‘Hear and let you (Muhammad) hear nothing.’ And Raa’ina [in Arabic this means, ‘Be careful, listen to us and we listen to you,’ whereas in Hebrew it means ‘an insult.’] with a twist of their tongues and as a mockery of the religion (Islam). And if only they had said, ‘We hear and obey,’ and ‘Do make us understand,’ it would have been better for them, and more proper, but Allaah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not except for a few.†[al-Nisaa’ 4:46] The phrase “[they] displace words from (their) right places†means that they misinterpret them and understand them in a way that Allaah did not intend, doing this deliberately and inventing lies against Allaah. [Tafseer Ibn Katheer] Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “So because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard. They change the words from their (right) places and have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them. And you will not cease to discover deceit in them, except a few of them. But forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds). Verily, Allaah loves al-Muhsineen (good-doers).†[al-Maa’idah 5:13] The phrase “because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them†refers to the fact that they broke the Covenant which had been made with them, so Allaah cursed them, i.e., He kept them away from following the True Guidance. “[We] made their hearts grow hard†means that they will not benefit from any preaching because their hearts are so hard. “They change the words from their (right) places†means that they play havoc with the words of Allaah and misinterpret His Book, taking it to mean things that were never meant and attributing to Allaah things that He never said; may Allaah protect us from that. “[They] have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them†means that they stopped following its teachings because they did not want to follow them. Al-Hasan said: “They did not adhere to their religion or keep their duties towards Allaah, without which no deeds are acceptable to Him; their fitrah (innate nature) was not sound and their deeds were not righteous.†[Tafseer Ibn Katheer] So it becomes quite clear that the ways in which the Children of israel tampered with the Tawraat and Injeel include the following: Changing Omitting Adding things and attributing to Allaah words that He did not say Misinterpreting the words of Allaah. When Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was sent, the original Tawraat and Injeel had already been altered and distorted. Allaah revealed the Qur’aan to His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and guaranteed that He Himself would preserve it, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “Verily We: it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e., the Qur’aan) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption).†[al-Hijr 15:9] This distinguishing feature was not found in any Book before the Qur’aan. From the time of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) until the present (more than fourteen hundred years) the Qur’aan has stayed the same, and not a single letter of it has been changed, as ancient manuscripts and the hearts of generation after generation of people who have memorized the entire text and earned the title of “haafiz†bear witness. We ask Allaah to guide us to the true and straight path. And Allaah knows best. Islam Q&A Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid
  14. God's Corrupted Word

There is a difference between Qur'an and all the other books. God Almighty gave the promise that He Personally is Guarding the Qur'an from corruption while this was not promised with the other books. This was a test for the previous people to test their faithfulness, but they dared to tamper with their scripture through their tongues and through changing the scripture themselves. Qur'an cannot be changed, because God Almighty is guarding it Himself until the End of the World.
  15. God's Corrupted Word

Even if the original Torah, Injeel etc were present and available, the criterion would still be Qur'an and the source of Sharee'ah would still be Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet. It is a new covenant which is accompanied by a new law. I think you know the parable of Jesus when he said that if you fill old wine in a new hose, the wine will spoil, and if you pour new wine in an old hose the hose would burst. The hose is the covenant while the wine represents the law. A new covenant is accompanied by a new law. The message remained the same, but the sharee'ah changed according to the time and people.
  16. Dajjal

Assalamu Alaykum We know that one of the signs that the Maseehid Dajjal is about to come is that he will not be mentioned in Khutbas. Close to the coming of the Dajjal there will be no khutba for one year. If there is no khutbah for one year in the communities then this is the sign that the coming of the Dajjal is around the corner.
  17. Between Career N Faith

Hallo helping someone do commit a sin is akin to committing the sin oneself. I am sure that Allah the All-Sufficient Provider will replace this job with something halal and better.
  18. Assalamu'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahee wa Barakatu May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accept your fasting of Ramadan and Shawwal and may the best of your deeds be the last one, the best of your life the end of it, and the best of the days the Day you Meet Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. This following hadeeth is from the Chapter Revelation of Sahih Bukhary which is the first chapter. Here you can see that Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wassallam himself confirms to the Angel that he is not able to read. Sahih Bukhari - Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3: Narrated 'Aisha: (the mother of the faithful believers) The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Apostle was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright day light, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food like-wise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, "I do not know how to read. The Prophet added, "The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, 'I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?' Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, 'Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists) has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous." (96.1, 96.2, 96.3) Then Allah's Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, "I fear that something may happen to me." Khadija replied, "Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your Kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones." Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the PreIslamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, "Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!" Waraqa asked, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" Allah's Apostle described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out." Allah's Apostle asked, "Will they drive me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, "Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while. Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah Al-Ansari while talking about the period of pause in revelation reporting the speech of the Prophet "While I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up and saw the same angel who had visited me at the cave of Hira' sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I got afraid of him and came back home and said, 'Wrap me (in blankets).' And then Allah revealed the following Holy Verses (of Quran): 'O you (i.e. Muhammad)! wrapped up in garments!' Arise and warn (the people against Allah's Punishment),... up to 'and desert the idols.' (74.1-5) After this the revelation started coming strongly, frequently and regularly."
  19. This means that this Divinity is not capable to defend himself and he is weak and powerless.
  20. Assalamu Alaikum I need to know whether we as Muslims are allowed to eat the eyes of a fish. I was eating at a seafod restaurant with a friend and I was enjoying the head of the fish and then I ate the eye and he was quite disgusted and said that it is not allowed in Islam. Is that true? Jazak Allah Praise be to Allaah. Allaah has permitted us all the produce of the sea: “Lawful to you is (the pursuit of) water-game and its use for food…†[al-Maa’idah 2:96 – interpretation of the meaning]. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us that it is halaal (lawful) to eat dead creatures from the sea and dead fish, and no part of the fish was excluded from this permission. Hence we know that all parts of the fish are halaal, including its skin, tail, eyes, etc. It is strange indeed that a person could dare to forbid something that Allaah has permitted. This is a very serious matter, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “O you who believe! Make not unlawful the tayyibaat (all that is good) which Allaah has made lawful to you, and transgress not. Verily, Allaah does not like the transgressors.†[al-Maa’idah 5:87] “Say: ‘Who has forbidden the adornment with clothes given by Allaah, which He has produced for His slaves, and al-Tayyibaat [all kinds of halaal (lawful) things] of food?’ Say: ‘They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) exclusively for them (believers) on the Day of Resurrection (the disbelievers will not share them).’ Thus We explain the aayaat (Islamic law) in detail for people who have knowledge.†[al-A‘raaf 7:32] “Say: ‘Tell me, what provision Allaah has sent down to you! And you have made of it lawful and unlawful.’ Say: ‘has Allaah permitted you (to do so), or do you invent a lie against Allaah?’†[Yoonus 10:59] Allaah has also warned His slave against forbidding anything without knowledge. He said (interpretation of the meaning): “And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: ‘This is lawful and this is forbidden,’ so as to invent lies against Allaah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allaah will never prosper.†[al-Nahl 16:116] This person who has invented a lie against Allaah by saying that it is haraam to eat the eye of a fish must repent to Allaah, and not go beyond the limits in talking about the Religion of Allaah. He should not speak without knowledge. Even if he is put off by something or feels disgusted by it, he has no right to say that it is haraam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) hated the smell of garlic, and said: “Whoever eats anything from this unpleasant plant should not approach us in the Masjid.†The people said, “It has become haraam (forbidden), it has become haraam.†When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) heard what was being said, he said: “O people, it is not for me to forbid something that Allaah has permitted; this is just a vegetable whose smell is unpleasant.†(Reported by Ahmad and Muslim, 877). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) explained that the fact that he disliked garlic and told people not to come to the Masjid after eating it did not mean that it was haraam. Although the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) disliked the idea of eating lizard-meat, he did not forbid others to eat it, as is reported in the following story: “Khaalid ibn al-Waleed reported that some grilled lizard meat was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and put in front of him. He stretched out his hand to take some, but one of the people present said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, it is lizard meat,’ so he pulled his hand back. Khaalid ibn al-Waleed asked, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, is lizard haraam?’ He said, ‘No, but it is not known among my people and I cannot face eating it.’ So Khaalid took some of the lizard meat and ate it, whilst the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) looked on.†(Reported by al-Bukhaari, 4981, al-Nisaa'i, 4242, and Abu Dawood, 3300). After explaining this answer to you, I want to warn you about something that I noticed in your question, where you said that you went to the seafood restaurant with a male friend. If this person is not your husband or a mahram (blood-relative whom you are permanently forbidden to marry), then you should fear Allaah. Ask yourself: which is more serious, eating the eye of a fish or going out with a man to whom you are not related to sit and chat with him in a restaurant? I ask Allaah to protect us from all things that earn His wrath and to help us remember and fear Him. May Allaah bless our Prophet Muhammad. Islam Q&A Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid
  21. Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahee wa Barakatu Lizard: Sahih Muslim - Book 021, Number 4790: 'Abdullah b. 'Abbas reported: I and Khalid b. Walid went to the apartment of Maimuna along with Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him), and there was presented to him a roasted lizard. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) stretched his hand towards It, whereupon some of the women who had been in the house of Maimuna said: Inform Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) what he intends to eat. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) lifted his hand. I said: Messenger of Allah, Is it forbidden? He said: No. It is not found in the land of my people, and I feel that I have no liking for it. Khalid said: I then chewed and ate it, while, Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was looking (at me). Please forgive me for my ignorance in this matter. I am very interested in learning the ways of Islam. My question concerns dietary rulings. What types of fish and seafood are permissible? Thank you for your help. Praise be to Allaah. Among the blessings that Allaah has bestowed upon us is the fact that He has made our religion easy for us, and has not made it too difficult or unbearable. He has allowed us many things that were forbidden according to previously-revealed laws. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “… Allaah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you…†[al-Baqarah 2:185]. Hence all kinds of food from the sea are permissible, whether they are plants or animals, alive or dead. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Lawful to you is (the pursuit of) water-game and its use for food – for the benefit of yourselves and those who travel…†[al-Maa’idah 5:96]. Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “ Sayduhu (lit. hunting, pursuit) refers to whatever is taken from it alive, and ta’aamuhu (lit. its food) means whatever is taken dead.†There are a few things – certain types of water animals – which some scholars exclude from the permission outlined above. These are: Crocodiles. The correct view is that eating these is not allowed, because they have fangs and live on land – even though they may spend a lot of time in the water – so precedence should be given to the reason for forbidding it (it is a land animal that has fangs). Frogs. It is not permitted to eat them because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade killing them, as is reported in the hadeeth of ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn ‘Uthmaan, who said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade the killing of frogs. (Narrated by Imaam Ahmad and Ibn Maajah; see also Saheeh al-Jaami, 6970). The rule is that everything which we are forbidden to kill, we are not allowed to eat; if we are allowed to eat it we are allowed to kill it. Some scholars exclude sea snakes, but the correct view is that as they live nowhere except in the water, we are permitted to eat them, because of the general nature of the aayah (interpretation of the meaning): “Lawful to you is (the pursuit of) water-game and its use for food – for the benefit of yourselves …†[al-Maa’idah 5:96]. Otters and turtles. The correct view is that to be on the safe side, it is permissible to eat them after slaughtering them properly, because they live both on land and in the sea. Here the rule is that in the case of animals that live both on land and in the sea, the rules concerning land animals should be given precedence, to be on the safe side, so they must be slaughtered properly, except for crabs which do not need to be slaughtered, even though they live both on land and in the sea, because they do not have blood. Everything that can cause harm is forbidden as food, even if it comes from the sea, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “… And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allaah is Most Merciful to you.†[al-Nisa’ 4:29] and: “… and do not throw yourselves into destruction…†[al-Baqarah 2:195]. (See al-Mughni, 11/83; Haashiyah al-Rawd, 7/430; Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 3/197; and Ahkaam al-At’imah by al-Fawzaan). And Allaah knows best. Islam Q&A Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid

  23. Given Up On Islam, And Religion In General

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahee wa Barakatu Dear Brother, you should read the following transcript of a khutbah by Imam Al-Haramain Sa'ud Ash-Shuraym, especially the highlighted paragraphs: Friday Khutbah (07 August 2009): Transcript: Ramadan: The month of Quran by Imam Al-Haramain Sa’ud ash-Shuraim[using large font size is not allowed] All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his household and companions. Fellow Muslims! I implore myself and you all to fear Allah; this honours the soul and brings it close to its Lord. No God-fearing person will ever fail and anyone who disregards the importance of piety will never be successful. Dear Muslims! Whoever observes the condition of people in light of the current trials, tribulations and calamities that are occurring all over the world will see that the Muslims are in dire need of a generous guest that brings with it relief and progress. They are in need of this grand guest with whom they hope to be strengthened after a series of indescribable calamities and weakening incidents; hence their need for this great month of tranquility and spiritual development. It is the month of self-examination, conscience reawakening and freedom from selfishness and lustful desires. Allah says that which translates as: “O you who have believed! Decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you, that you may become righteous.†– (Surah Al Baqarah 2:183) Fellow Muslims! The month of Ramadan is the month of the Quran; a Book whose light will never fade and which is a path that never leads one astray. The Glorious Quran is to man as the soul is to the body; it is a light for guidance. Whoever does not read the Quran or put its injunctions into practice is dead, despite the fact that they may speak and move. Whoever does not put it into practice has gone far astray even if they are apparently successful in all areas of life. Allah says that which translates as: “Is one who is dead and We gave him life and made for him light by which to walk among the people like one who is in darkness, never to emerge therefrom?†– (Surah Al An’am 6:122) A human being without the guidance of the Quran is like any living being without air or water; all their endeavors will end up in bankruptcy. Allah says that which translates as: “Say: ‘It is for those who believe, a guidance and a cure’ And those who do not believe – in their ears is deafness, and it (i.e. the Quran) is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place.†– (Surah Fussilat 41:44) Fellow Muslims! There is no doubt that the relationship of many Muslims with the Quran is one of abandonment of either its recitation or implementation of its injunctions. It is no exaggeration to say that the diseases of past nations have affected the Muslims, while they are unaware of this. Allah says that which translates as: “And there are among them unlettered people who do not know not the Scripture except (indulgement in) wishful thinking, but they are only assuming.†– (Surah Al Baqarah 2:78) The scholars of Tafsir say about this verse: ‘It means: they know nothing about the Book except for its recitation, for it never passed their lungs and throats. This is because of the fact that there was a spiritual absence in their recitation and therefore, they were unable to ponder over its meanings’. Among the causes of the absence of reflection on the meanings of the Quran is the failure to explore and understand the laws of Allah in relation to human-beings and natural phenomena. Also to blame is the sanctification of erroneous concepts and wrong interpretations of life that have become widespread among people and which are caused by unrestrained love for this world and the hatred of death. Ziyad Ibn Labid Al-Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam mentioned something and then said: ‘… and that is when there will be no more knowledge.’ We said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! How will knowledge disappear while we have the Quran with us and we teach it to our children and while they will also teach it to theirs?’ The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam retorted: ‘I thought you were one of the most knowledgeable of the people of Madinah! Are there not Jews and Christians who have their scriptures with them and yet they take no benefit from what is inside them?’ – (At-Tirmidhi and others) One is stricken with grief and shock when they see the stance that many Muslims have adopted with regard to the Book of their Lord. They have been covered by darkness and wander aimlessly; the foreign systems and ideologies that they have embraced have done nothing for them. How can it be that we have the light and yet follow the paths of other nations? The Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam lived for sixty-three years; we are used to believing that old age and the vicissitudes of life cause hair to turn grey. What then will you think of a man who attributed grey hair to some verses of the glorious Quran that he used to recite? Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, asked the Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam about what caused some of his beard to become grey, he sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam replied: ‘It was caused by Surah Hud, Surah Al-Waqi’ah, Surah An-Naba’ and Surah At-Takwir.†– (At-Tirmidhi) Brothers in faith! The blessed month of Ramadan should be regarded as a wonderful opportunity for every Muslim to save himself from destruction and to purify their soul in preparation for the Quranic guidance that is inherent in night prayer. Allah says that which translates as: “Indeed, the hours of the night (i.e. the rising for Tahajjud prayer) are more effective for concurrence (of heart and tongue) and more suitable for words (i.e. for recitation of the Quran and for hearing and understanding it).†– (Surah Al Muzzammil 73:6) Brothers in faith! The blessed month of Ramadan is a great opportunity for the Muslims to wake up for night prayers, seek refuge with Allah and turn to Him for their needs, for none has the power to answer their call except Allah alone. The Lord descends to the nearest heaven, in a way that befits his majesty, in the last third of the night and asks: “Is there anyone who seeks My forgiveness so that I can forgive him?†Do any of us ever reflect upon and appreciate this great period which is one of those in which supplications are answered? Tell me, what are the people doing in this last part of the night? Many a miserable soul missed this blessed period! Many people are in deep slumber at this time. It is saddening that some of those who are negligent of this great period are however, ready to go anywhere where they can lodge their complaints and seek solutions to their problems – from their fellow human beings, forgetting that it is only Allah who is capable of removing sorrow and distress. He says that which translates as: “What is (the matter) with you that you do not attribute to Allah (due) grandeur while He has created you in stages?†– (Surah Nuh 71:13-14) Imam Tirmidhi reported that the Prophet of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said: ‘There are three persons whose supplications are never rejected: The just leader, the fasting person when he breaks his fast and the oppressed when he supplicates and whose supplication is raised above the clouds and the gates of heaven are opened for it and Allah will say, “By My Glory! I shall assist you even if it is after a while.â€â€™ Brothers in faith! There are however, some people who raise their hands in prayer and are impatient for a rapid answer; they may even feel despair if their supplications are not speedily answered. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said: “Allah will answer the supplication of any one of you as long as he is not hasty and says: ‘I called my Lord and He did not answer.’†The delay may also be caused by sins such as the failure to uphold the rights of kinship, or perhaps it may be due to the fact that the prayer emanated only from the tongue and was not rooted in the heart. The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said: ‘Allah does not accept the supplications from an inattentive heart.’ The heart is not free from turning to the desires of this life and we all know that one who always looks back does not reach his goal in time. Therefore, I implore you O Muslims, to make plentiful supplications to Allah, for supplication is the essence of worship. Let nobody slight their requirements however great or small they may be. Allah says that which translates as: “And your Lord says: ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’ Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell (rendered) contemptible.†– (Surah Ghafir 40:60)[using large font size is not allowed] Here is an example for those in sorrow and distress: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam entered the Masjid one day and saw an Ansari (a resident of Madinah) man there by the name of Abu Umamah. The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam asked him, ‘O Abu Umamah, why are you sitting in the Masjid at a time that is not a prayer time?’ He replied: ‘I was forced to do so by sorrow and debt.’ The Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam then asked: ‘Shall I teach you a supplication by which Allah will remove your sorrow and pay for you your debts?’ He answered: ‘O yes, Messenger of Allah!’ The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam then said: ‘Say every morning and evening: Allahumma inni a’udhu bikka minal-hammi wal hazan, wa a’udhu bika minal-‘ajzi wal-kasal wa a’udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhul wa a’udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayn wa qahrir-rijal.’ (Meaning: O Allah, I seek refuge with You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being over powered by men.) Abu Umamah said: ‘I did that and Allah removed my distress and paid for me my debt.’ – (Abu Dawud) Fellow Muslims! The month of Ramadan is a month of generosity and spending in ways that are virtuous. Let every Muslim take part in the generosity of this month and not hesitate to wipe the tears off the faces of orphans, widows and the destitute. Let everyone keep away from stinginess and covetousness for these are two of the bad qualities from which the Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam sought refuge with his Lord from. The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam was the most generous of mankind and his generosity multiplied during the month of Ramadan. He would never say ‘no’ when he was asked of anything. Further, the benefits of charity are not restricted to the beneficiary; the donor also has a share. An example of this is when a generous person gives in charity, their heart becomes gladdened and they become pleased with that. Therefore, this person will be encouraged to give more and gain extra rewards. As for the miser, whenever he thinks of giving in charity his heart feels constrained; he feels as if he is giving away a chunk of his life!, this in turn leads to his whole life feeling constrained. However, nothing destroys the tricks and insinuations of Satan more than giving sincerely in charity. Allah says that which translates as: “Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty. And Allah is All-Encompassing and Knowing.†– (Surah Al Baqarah 2:268)[using large font size is not allowed]
  24. Given Up On Islam, And Religion In General

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not need you, but you need Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. You are the one who need to serve Allah, but you want Allah to serve you. He knows that is hidden in your hearts and He knows about any defects in your hearts.

Pray Taraweeh during Ramadhan after Ishaa Prayer. Pray Eight Rak'ah Tahajjud Prayer at night. Eight rak'ah means four times two units. Pray Two Rak'ah Shafi Prayer after finishing the Tahajjud. Pray one rak'ah Witr Prayer after the Shafi' Prayer. Pray two rak'ah when entering the Masjid. If there is the opportunity pray the eclipse prayer or Janaza Prayer. Tahajjud does not have a required amount of rak'ah, but 8 rak'ah is how the prophet prayed it. During the Night Prayer it is better to have a long standing. One rak'ah with long standing is more rewarding than many short rak'ah. If you have specific questions about the prayers, please ask.
