  1. Practising And Not Practising

Salam, Well I just would like to share my encounters and feeling. Feel free to share your opinions. I have few friends who were brought up as Muslim but drifted away. They moved abroad and living with their boyfriends, and getting themselves dog as pets. I'm still friends with them as they accept me for who I am and I accept them for who they are. But somehow I just feel sad. Anybody with similar experience?

  3. Mishary Rashid Old Recitation

Salam, I download the quran application for my Ipod and it has Mishary Rashid's recitation. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where you can download the normal file. If I find out, I'll post it here.
  4. Reverted Recently

  6. Do You Pray Tahajjud?

Salam, I think what being said by orthodox is quite true. It's a good reminder for all. I'm still trying to increase my prayers. An ustaz said that we should always try to increase or improve our prayers - and try not to remain the same years after years.

  8. Don't Be Sad

Assalammualaikum. I had read the book couple of times. It really is helpful and inspiring. Other inspirational books especially for girls is by Zabrina Abu Bakar. I recommend it!
  9. Assalammualaikum, I'm not married yet so most probably not the right person to offer advice. I think there's a saying that "When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us". From what I think, you seem to hold on to the "what if" and "what should have". Perhaps your mom doesn't understand how you feel because of the generation gap but we don't get to choose our family, we can only make the best out of it. I think if you allow your regret to linger too long, you will lose the most important thing in your life, your husband. It really doesn't matter whether the guy is chosen by your parents or you chose him on your own, I think the most important thing is he's a good husband. Wouldn't it be just a waste just to marry some stranger just to prove your point although he might not be good for you? Allah SWT doesn't abandon us, we do that to ourselves. Happiness is a state of mind. If you can get pass the bitterness towards your mom and try to appreciate what you have, then most probably you'll be a happier person. Insya Allah, I'll hope things will work out for you.
  10. Leaving Islam

Salam, a wise advice indeed. Thank you.
  11. Hi, For friday prayer it's not obligatory for Muslim women to attend. In M'sia where I live, we work from Mon - Fri. Muslims usually have longer break on Friday so that they can perform prayer but usually women will not attend the prayer. I don't see a problem working on Friday as long as you don't neglect your normal prayer hours. The other issues with your friend's wife, not sure how to respond to that.
  12. Leaving Islam

Assalammualaikum. I always find it's inspiring to hear stories of brothers and sisters reverting to Islam. On the other hand, it's painful to hear about someone leaving Islam. I'm just wondering, how would someone feel leaving Islam. And, what most of us feel about it. Just curious.
  13. ~ Touched ~

Hi Matt, I don't think anyone has the right to mock you or comment on your decision to convert. Every person has a unique experience and only you will be able to feel, understand and appreciate your relationship with Allah SWT. I think it's really cool that you reverted to Islam!
  14. Ramadhan In Summer

Salam, I must say coming from an Asian country, with summer all year round, it's quite easy not to think of the different timing based on the different season! Anyway, I salute everyone who is going to fast during this coming summer :sl:
  15. Faisal Shazad
