  1. A Different Look At God, Faith, And Religion

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem Wa Sallah-Allahu 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een But there is no validity in having "your" view about God. Only God can inform you about Himself, so personal opinions are useless and in fact, sinful, since anything about God other than what God has revealed is conjecture. Being critical means one of two things: 1. Checking the transmission of the source (how it reached us from A to B) 2. Using a rigorous methodology to interpret it, and this means evaluating it with respect to all other proof-texts and according to the language in which it is revealed. There is actually no room for unqualified personal interpretations, because there is such a thing as a "wrong" answer. Your goal should be to understand what God has intended by revelation and to practice it as the Prophets (pbut) did, NOT to get your own unique interpretation out of it. If I told you that a cup of water had a drop of urine in it, would you drink it? Would it matter what side of the cup you sipped from? If a text has been corrupted, or there is no proof it has been preserved, you CANNOT trust your soul to it. You do not KNOW which part is authentic and which part is fabricated, so that casts doubt upon the entire package. You cannot identify WHERE the pollution has occured, which means you will be swallowing Truth with falsehood, and while the Truth may nourish you, the poison will kill you. Well if you can make the effort to understand why Islam is the revealed Truth from God, you would then be willing to mesh your thoughts exactly with what God has revealed. Well Islam is not based on tradition, but revelations and the Prophetic practice, preserved since that time. The Islamic sciences with regard to textual preservation are the most rigorous among any historical or religious system, and this is not simply a claim, but a demonstratable fact as we look at the method used to preserve every quote and text among upright known men in multi-chains. You will also find that preservation is not enough, and that a revelation must contain evidence that it is Divinely revealed: such as literary inimitability, scientific, prophetic, and historical miracles. 3. A Different Look At God, Faith, And Religion

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem Wa Sallah-Allahu 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een Well, the similarities between the religious do not outweight the differences. It is not enough to simply "believe in God", especially when you commit polytheistic and anthropomorphic worship and characterization of Him. Only God can inform you about Himself, His Prophets, His revelations, and how He has commanded mankind to worship Him. And the only way to know this is through authentic revelations, that means PROVABLY preserved religious texts and texts which can provide evidence from God that they are divine, through their miraculous content and attributes. So to get directly to the point, accepting a "religion" because it appeals to your preconceptions or opinions of God is nothing more than following your own desires, because you are only accepting God insofar as He conforms to YOU, while in reality, it is the human which must conform to the divine, and this can only be done by knowing God through what He has authentically revealed. So you need to ask yourself a few questions: How do you know what you kow about God? What is your source? What makes it an authority on God? How do you know? What methodology are you going to follow to arrive at the Truth? How is your current belief system able to prove that it has remained perfectly in tact since it was revealed by God through a Prophet AND that this Truth is distinguishable from other "claims". 6. Words Of Wisdom Of Scholars

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem Wa Sallah-Allahu 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een Abu Hanifa said, "Fiqh is to know one's self: what is for it and against it." Ibn Abidin points out something important in his Sharh Uqud Rasm al-Mufti: "Understanding evidences (dalil) is only (truly) possible for someone at the level of ijtihad (mujtahid), for it depends on knowing that the evidence is free of that which opposes it, which depends on having complete awareness of the primary sources, which is not possible for other than a mujtahid. As for merely knowing that a given mujtahid took a given ruling from a given set of evidences, it is of little consequence..." (Sharh Uqud Rasm al-Mufti, in Rasa'il Ibn Abidin, 1: 30) “Whoever pursues the rarities of hadith will lie.” (Abu Yusuf) “Whoever holds on to the rare and unusual positions of the Scholars has left Islam.” (Al-Awza`i) “Whoever pursues the rare and the unusual has gathered up all evil.” (Sufyan al-Thawri) “He is not an Imam in ilm who follows anomalous positions (al-shadhdh).” (`Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi) “If you take the dispensation (rukhsa) or error (zalla) of every alim, you will become the gathering point of every evil.” (Sulayman al-Taymi) The Imam ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (rahimahullaah) said: "Repel the (evil) thought, for if you don't it becomes an idea. So repel the idea, for if you don't it will become a desire. So fight against the desire, for if you don't it will become a determination and a passion. If you don't repel that, it will become an action. If you don't replace it with the opposite of this action, it will become a constant habit, and at that point it will be difficult to change." Ibn al-Hajj says in his book, al-Madkhal, “Umar ibn al-‘Aziz said, ‘Never give one whose heart is deviant access to your two ears, for surely you never know what may find fixity in you.’” Imam Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak (Allah be pleased with him) said: “Isnad is part of religion (deen), and if it was not for Isnad, one would have said whatever one desired. When it is said (to the one who speaks without an Isnad): “Who informed you? He remains silent and bewildered”. (Introduction to Sahih Muslim, 1/87, al-Jami’ li akhlaq al-rawi wa adab al-sami’ and others). He (Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak) also stated: “The one who seeks matters of his deen without an Isnad is similar to the one who climbs to the roof without a ladder”. Sufyan al-Thawri (Allah have mercy on him) states: “Isnad is the weapon of a believer. When one does not possess a weapon, then with what will he combat?” Sayyiduna Imam Shafi’i (Allah have mercy on him) says: “The example of the one who seeks Hadith without an Isnad is of a person who gathers wood in the night. He carries a bundle of sticks not knowing that there is a snake in it”. (Meaning, he gathers and collects all types of narrations, the genuine and spurious, m). Baqiyya ibn al-Walid (Allah have mercy on him) once related to Hammad ibn Zaid (Allah have mercy on him) certain narrations that were void of Isnad. So Hammad said: “If only they had wings”. Imam Ibn Taymiyya (Allah have mercy on him) states: “Isnad is a unique feature of this Ummah and Islam. Then from among the Muslims, it is a specialty of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah”. (The above excerpts [on isnad] recorded by Shaykh Abd al-Fattah Abu Ghudda (Allah have mercy on him) in his excellent work ‘al-Isnad min al-Din’ P. 18-20). Among al-Shafi`i’s other sayings: "The study of hadith is better than supererogatory prayer, and the pursuit of knowledge is better than supererogatory prayer." 8. Why In The End Of The Prayer Must Be Said Salam To

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem Wa Sallah-Allahu 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een It is only obligatory to make one salaam, to the right shoulder (or rather the angel on the right shoulder) The second tasleem is sunnah, but the prayer ends after the first. The actual reason this is done is because this is how Allah (swt) taught the Prophet (pbuh) to worship Him. 9. Help In Understanding Quran Reading

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem Wa Sallah-Allahu 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een The "ta marboota" is only pronounced if there is a letter after it. You mean kasra, and double kasra, not fat-ha or double fat-ha. One kasra makes a "eee" sound while two make a "in". Again, those are the rules of pronounciation with regard to ending a sentence with a word or having a word follow it. I'm not sure if it is necessary to omit the tanween at the end of the sentence. 11. Leaving Islam

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem Wa Sallah-Allahu 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een God says in the Qur'an: But those who reject Faith after they accepted it, and then go on adding to their defiance of Faith, - never will their repentance be accepted; for they are those who have of set purpose gone astray. As to those who reject Faith, and die rejecting, - never would be accepted from any such as much gold as the earth contains, though they should offer it for ransom. For such is in store a penalty grievous, and they will find no helpers. (Qur'an 3:90-91) and But the Unbelievers, - their deeds are like a mirage in sandy deserts, which the man parched with thirst mistakes for water; until when he comes up to it, he finds it to be nothing: But he finds God ever with him, and God will pay him his account: and God is swift in taking account. (Qur'an 24:39) and How shall God Guide those who reject Faith after they accepted it and bore witness that the Apostle was true and that Clear Signs had come unto them? but God guides not a people unjust. (Qur'an 3:86) Upon leaving Islam: 1. Your deeds have been nullified 2. You have forfeited the possibility of God's guidance 3. You have of surety chosen Hell as your abode after death And why? Because apparently following your own desires is more important than objectely knowing what God has revealed and following His creed and law. You REJECTED religion, so that you can purchase clothes and denude yourself. What a trade-off. If you are interested in objectively reexamining your decision, to learn why Islam is the Truth and why adhering to the Truth is essential, this is the place to do it.
