  1. Muslim-Christian Debate, Here

Assalamu alaykum all, I agree with Younes, but I think the title of this thread inevitably was worded wrong. Anytime you have the word "debate" come up especially between "belief" it will always devolve into chaos and name calling. It should be as specific a topic pertaining to Islam and Christianity and have the word "conversation" (like the name of the sub-forum itself) instead of "debate" in my humble opinion  Just my 2 cents......
  2. Bible Based Dawah

Assalamu alaykum brother abdullahfath, Yes, I know precisely what your talking about. I for one can say that Allah the Most High lead me to Islam by way of the Bible too. It was thru long nights studying the bible and praying that when I was introduced to Islam it instantly clicked for the most part, except for the shaitan and the whispers of doubt. Then it came to long nights with the Qur'an, alhamdulillah. I see the Psalm you are talking about, it pertains to the story of shaitan tempting Al Masih (alayhi salawatul wa salam) about the Angels of Allah protecting him. I see you pointed out the last verse pertaining to the long life and him being saved by Allah. Alhamdulillah, good insight brother.
  3. Muslims 4 Liberty

Assalamu alaykum abdullahfath, as well as to other brothers and sisters here. Wow, it's been a while since I've posted and replied to you abdullahfath. MashaAllah, time for action is always now. I'm from the states, will send an email.
  4. The Return Of Jesus

As far as anyone confirming the Qur'an as true, that's a must. To deny it you would deny the past revelation, prophets, events etc. And the whole changing the fast from Ramadan which is a couple weeks away by the way alhamdulillah, I guess it would seem innocent enough but Allah let us know that the Qur'an was revealed in that month so the fast is specifically prescribed that month (Qur'an 2:185). Would have to make du'a trust Allah, what else are we as hue-mans supposed to do right? If you're intention is sincere and your supplication, inshaAllah you will be guided.
  5. The Return Of Jesus

Ah yes, finally back on topic. Thank you Wesley  This is a very good question. For myself I would start by narrowing anybody down whether they claim to be somebody else or not, through their actions. I for one do not put much into hear say. For I am accountable for everything and will be questioned on Qiyamah (Qur'an 17:36). 1) Ask myself, does he practice Islam? This is the main thing, if not then the whole thing of someone being a nabi/rasul/mu'min is out the window and can never be a rasul of Allah. 2) What does he ask from me/us? If it's "aqim as salah, A too zakah" and the responsibility that implies and holding fast to Allah, good. That is what should be asked/expected of me/us (which in a nutshell is Islam). (Quran 22:78) These are the main things, and you will find almost (?) any leader (of a nation) today lacking any desire to make the above priority. If the person known as Ibn Maryam (peace upon them both) did return, and I lived to witness... I'm sure these would be priority for him and I would have no problem following him or any person for that matter. That is what Islam calls us to do. So the question for me isn't, is it Jesus (peace unto him)? As much as what a person is calling for. The Qur'an is clear, all the prophets (salamoon a lal mursaleen) asked from the people the same action, and same the belief La ilaha il lal (A)LLah (wal hamdu Lilah hir rabbil ala meen). I speak only for myself, and may Allah forgive and guide me closer, amin.
  6. The Return Of Jesus

Assalamu alaykum to my brothers and sisters in deen. Peace to all..... This thread has been interesting so far, I have read some and it's thought provoking from many points of view :) This was a thread about the return of Jesus (peace unto him) but became a........ sacrifice issue? Jonah/yunes (peace unto him) preached to a people and they accepted his words about Allah. This is according to the bible as well as the Qur'an. No instance or mention of needing a "divine sacrifice" to be accepted by Allah. Even Jesus (peace unto him) mentions that according to the gospels commonly accepted. BUUUUT.... We (muslims) know that every nation/people/community had their own ritual of sacrifice to pronounce the name of Allah over animals to show the taqwa/piety/consciousness of our hearts. QURAN: 22: 32- 34 As Wesley has already stated, it is not the blood that reaches Allah. I don't post often but insha'Allah, i'll try and get back asap to any reply. Peace.
  7. Assalamu Alaykum akhi abdullah fath. It's important that you make du'a/supplication to Allah for strong iman and understanding. I know what it's like, I used to stay up all night many a times researching and now Alhamdulillah thru alot of prayer I feel enough understanding to not have that doubt and somewhat uneasy feeling. I hear you about the south, that place is very conservative. I from the "liberal" west, and even here at times there's enough to want to keep your guard up.
  8. Just Reverted To Islam.

Wa alaykumus salam wa rahmatullah, masha'Allah...... Only sixteen alhamdulillah. I'm also a revert back to the way of all the Prophets/Messengers (peace unto them all), alhamdulillah.
  9. Do you really believe what you posted? There's no biblical three/tri expressed in the bible , just an explanation by theologians. According to the bible Moses and Jesus (peace unto them both) expressed the most important commandment is "Hear, israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One." No mention of tri/3, yet where does this "tri"/3 come from? If the Prophets never used 3 to describe the Most High, why do non prophets? I already showed how Islam is not "anti-christ",so what's the real reason Walid Shoebat or any other christian/jew is so opposed to Islam if as muslims we follow the most important commandment according to not only us as muslims (in Quran), but also to Christian (in Gospels) and Jewish (in Torah) faith? Curious minds want to know..................
  10. I've seen some of his speech's but not all or all of any particular one. He says alot of half truths which is very deceptive. For instance, where does he get that one is an anti-christ from? The bible as quoted below.... yet he makes the lines below say one who doesn't believe "god" came in the flesh as Jesus (peace unto him) is an anti-christ. Which is an addition to the scripture he quotes in one of the speeches he gives. Read the below passages and you will see that the Qur'an in no way contradicts that the word (which was "be") came into the flesh as the messiah son of maryam (peace unto them both). The problem Islam has is with the description of Allah the MOst High being the father of Jesus son of Maryam (peace unto them both) and he being the son. A son comes from the loins and I'm sure everyone even Christians would clearly protest that's not the case in The Almighty and Jesus..... so why even use those terms to begin with is Islam's position. 1 John 2:22-23 "Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also." 1 John 4:2-3 "By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world." The underlined above is clearly in no way opposed to Islam. Jesus the Masih/Messiah (peace unto him) is clearly there in the Qur'an. 2 John 1:7 "For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist." As you can see from the above quotes from the writings in the new testament, no where is it stated that Jesus the Christ/Messiah (peace unto him) is God/Almighty/Creator of All things and denying that makes you anti-christ. Therefore his whole speech or topic of Islam being anti-christ is thrown out the window. Why would you even follow anything he says if the whole basis of his argument is destroyed right there? On another tangent, is it not believed that the anti-christ will seek worship? Well, how do we as muslims not know that the Christians will not follow that same anti-christ who seeks worship because Christians for the most part seek to worship Jesus (peace unto him) therefore could be followers of the same anti-christ they are so opposed too?
  11. Assalalmu alaykum, I know this is a late response but had to comment. What I do is make a du'a before salah about intention, and it seems to help alot before salah. Also to recite fatihah/other suras and say the english interpretation for it to sink in after every ayah. May Allah help us all.
  12. MashaAllah, thanks to all who replied and the welcome from everybody.... Alhamdulillah
  13. Greetings to members/lurkers alike and brothers/sisters in humanity. Assalamu alaykum to all my brothers and sisters in Islam. Since this is my first post I'll give some relevant info about myself. Allah the Most High guided me into Islam approx. 2 years ago. I come from a Catholic/Protestant family background and still to this day pick up the Bible every now and then (though not as much as Al Quranil Hakeem) . I joined this forum because first off, it's an Islamic forum and the conversations revolve around it. I came upon it just by perusing the internet. I enjoy non insulting conversations with all people. I don't consider myself a sunni (though most of my practices as of now are closer to sunni as that's who I am around more than not) or shia or any other name besides a Muslim as was Ibrahim and Muhammad and all the messengers/prophets of Allah the Most High (peace and blessings be upon them all). I've performed salah with sunni and shia muslim brothers in deen. Though they are a little different (minor differences) I remember that the goal for Muslims is to be true in deen to Allah the Most High and not divide my brothers/sisters into sects as much as possible. Insha'Allah I'll be back soon, as this was just an introduction. Hope to post again soon.
