  1. Eminence Of Suratul-Fatiha.

According to the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, all that is contained in the revealed Books is summed up in the Surat Fatiha of the Holy Qur'an (The Opening One), while this is in its turn contained in the formula BISMILLAHI-R-RAHMANI-R-RAHIM (In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful). The Fatiha constitutes the chief text of the ritual prayer; as for the formula, commonly called the basmala, it is the Formula of consecration pronounced before every sacred recitation and every ritual act. According to another tradition, going back to Sayyadi Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, the basmala is in essence contained in its first letter, ba, and this again in its diacritical point, which thus symbolizes Principal Unity. In the basmala, the interpretation of the 2 Names ar-Rahman and ar-Rahim as "the Compassionate" and "the Merciful", is only approximate as there is no real equivalent. Both names imply the idea of Mercy (ar-Rahmah: ar-Rahman corresponds to the Mercy which- to use a Qur'anic expression- "embraces all things", and expresses the plenitude of Being, its essential Bliss and the universal nature of its effulgence; ar-Rahim corresponds to Grace. As Rahman, Allah manifests Himself through the appearance of the world; as Rahim He manifests divinely within the world.
  2. Consider Ayat 4 Of Surat Qalam.

As-Salaam alaikum, In Ayat 4 of Surat Qalam of the Holy Qur'an (68:4), Allah Ta'ala, speaking about His Noble Messenger, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, says:-- "SURELY, YOU ARE UPON A TREMENDOUS CHARACTER (Khuluq azeem)" When Sayyada A'isha, may Allah be pleased with her, was asked about the character of the Messenger of Allah, she answered: "His character was the Qur'an." She said that because he was unique in character and that unique character had to bring together all noble character traits. Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, described that character as being "tremendous" just as He described the Qur'an in His words, "the tremendous Qur'an" (15:87). So, the Qur'an is his character, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam. If a person in the Community of the Messenger who has not met the Messenger of Allah desires to see him, let him look upon the Qur'an. When he looks upon it, there is no difference between looking upon it and looking upon Allah's Messenger. It is as if the Qur'an takes the configuration of a corporeal form which is named Muhammad Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abd al-Muttalib. The Qur'an is Allah's Speech and His Attributes, so Muhammad in his entirety is the attribute of Allah, "So he who obeys the Messenger, has obeyed Allah"- (4:80), since "He does not speak out of caprice" (53:3)...Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam.
  3. Getting Our Acts Together.

As-Salaam alaikum, In the Holy Qur'an, Allah Ta'ala says:-- "What! did you think that We created you only for sport, and that you would not be returned to Us?" [al-Mumineen, verse 115]. "What, does man reckon he shall be left to roam at will?" [al-Qiyama, verse 36]. These 2 Noble verses (Ayats) remind us all to get our acts together and call ourselves to account before the Divine Judgement catches up with us. In this regard, the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:-- "A mindful person is he who takes his lower self [ego] under control, calls it to account, and performs good deeds for the world to come. A foolish person is the one who expects something good from the Almighty in vain, while following the desires of his lower self." [Tirmidhi, Qiyamah 25; Ibn Majah, Zuhd, 31].
  4. As-Salaam alaykum, Do you love Allah, the Lord of the Universe? Of course we do... Let us be permanently in that Loving condition. How can we do/achieve that? In that regards, consider this Noble verse or Ayat of the Holy Qur'an where Allah Himself says:-- "Say (O Muhammad): If you love Allah, then follow me. Allah will love you and forgive you your sins". (3:31) This Ayat is an order on our obligation to believe in, obey and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, and to leave what contradicts it in words and action/deeds. If we/you claim love for Allah, Most High Lord of the Cosmos, and if we/you desire His affection, "then follow me" in what has manifested from my Shari'a, my spiritual path and spiritual realities.. the Prophet was commanded to say to us all. Having done/observed that, "Allah will love you", ie He will be pleased and content with you and lift the veils from your hearts;..... "and forgive you your sins", ie all your faults. This Noble Ayat answers those from the Jews, Christians and others who resemble them among Muslims, who neglect the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, outwardly and inwardly, who claim that they are lovers of Allah and are the sole recipients of His love. However, Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, is the Real Beloved of Allah.
  5. As-Salaam alaikum, Ma'amar Ibn Ahmad al-Asbahani, may Allah be Merciful to him, narrated in his 40 Hadith collection on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said:- The Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, censured us in his khutba. He said:-- "Oh Ummah of Muhammad ! A sage among the sages showed more understanding than you when his companions called him to pleasures and disobedience. He said, 'I am ashamed of my Lord to worship Him, hoping for Paradise as a reward, and therefore be like a bad labourer: if he is given his wage he works, and if he is not given it, he does not work. And I am ashamed of my Lord to worship Him out fear of the Fire and be also like a bad labourer: if he is fearful of his master he works, and if he is not, he does not work. I only worship Him for what He deserves, for He deserves to be worshiped.'
  6. As-Salaam alaikum, The Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, once observed: "You shall not enter Paradise and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I direct you to a thing which, if you do it, it will foster love amongst you? Give currency to 'Assalam alaikum' " [Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith 96 ]. Spreading of peace among one another is much more than the outward greeting of 'Assalam alaikum.....Peace be upon you'. This is just the beginning. When we are truly at peace within ourselves, then we will be spreading that peace to others. This is spreading peace outwardly from within us- for no one will love you except the one that you have given peace to in every one of your/our states. We must believe and feel that both our existence and the existence of whom we greet with 'Assalam alaikum' are by Divine cause.... we exist at His Pleasure, Allahu Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
  7. Consider Ayat 28 of Surat Al-Kahf

As-Salaam alaikum, In Ayat 28 of Surat Al-Kahf of the Holy Qur'an (18:28), Allah Tabaraka Wa Ta'ala says:-- "AND OBEY NOT HIM WHOSE HEART WE HAVE MADE HEEDLESS OF OUR REMEBRANCE, ONE WHO FOLLOWS HIS OWN LUSTS AND WHOSE AFFAIR HAS BEEN LOST AND WASTED." Indeed, every harm that enters upon a servant is caused by the heart's corruption. For corruption of the heart in turn brings about the removal of the heart's right upon Allah, the Exalted, and a diminution of its disgrace and rank in the sight of Allah. So, be cautious of mixing with people or a person who will cause wastage of time and corruption of the heart. When time is wasted and heart corrupted, all affairs of the servant become ruined.....
  8. Du'a For Good Fortunes.

As-Salaam alaikum, It is my pleasure to share with you a copy of the attached Du'a/Supplication that came to us from Sheikh Salih Ja'afar, may Allah be Merciful to him, for your perusal and use. It is a supplication or Du'a that we can do to seek all kinds of good fortune from our Lord, Allahu Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, Use this Du'a.... you will be glad you did. Best Regards. dua-for-khayrat1.pdf
  9. Tips From The Qur'an.

As-Salaam alaykum, It is my pleasure to share with you the following 5 tips from the Holy Qur'an; they are meant to assist us in living our lives in accordance with the Shari'a....as Muslims who believe in Allah, His Prophets and the Last Day. Here we go:-- (1) Respect and honor all human beings irrespective of their religion, color, race, sex, language, property or birth (17:70) (2) Always speak the Truth. Shun words that are deceitful and ostentatious (22:30) (3) Do not be a bragging boaster (31:18) (4) When you hear something malicious about someone, keep a favorable view about him/her until you attain full knowledge about the matter. (24:12) (5) Avoid suspicion and guesswork. Suspicion and guesswork might deplete your communal energy (49:12)
  10. As-Salaam alaikum, Yes, indeed Ummul Mumineen Sayyada Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, the first wife of the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, was the first in accepting Islam as her religion. She was/is an image of faith, integrity, truth and good manners. About her, the Noble Prophet, alaihis-Salaat Was-Salaam, was pleased to have remarked:-- "She believed in me when no one else did; she accepted Islam when people rejected me; and she helped and comforted me when there was no one else to lend me a helping hand. And it is through her that Allah blessed me with children." May Allah continue to bless her and other ahl-bayt members. Allhumma Salli ala Sayyadina Muhammadin, wa ala ahlihi, wa ashabihi, wa-Zuriyatihi, wasallim.
  11. As-Salaam alaikum, Undoubtedly, Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him, is indeed UNIQUE among human beings. He is the most unique creation of the Creator.... there is none like him, and there will never be. There are numerous qualities that make him unique and are exclusive to him--- see 48 of them hereby attached in the file below as compiled by Sayyadi Jalaludden Suyuti, Rahimahullah. Yes, these unique qualities of the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, make us to love and respect him, even more than before. Find time to go over these superb qualities with which Allahu, Tabaraka Wa Ta'ala, adorned his Prophet... so beautiful... Best Regards. 53.-The-Uniqueness-of-Rasoolullah-Sallallahu-Alaihi-Wasallam.pdf

  13. As-Salaam alaikum, The Noble Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said: "No Muslim suffers weakness, illness, sorrow, vexation or gloom-even the thorn that pricks him-without Allah thereby expiating some of his misdeeds." [bukhari (2), 7. 148-49]. The Prophet also said of a Muslim's satisfaction with destiny in good times and bad, "A believer is like budding grain: whenever the wind blows, it sways; and when the wind stops, it re-straightens: he bends with affliction. And a wicked man is like a sturdy cedar, standing aloft until Allah breaks it asunder whenever He wills." [bukhari 5644. S ]... the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, also said: "Whomever Allah wants good for, He afflicts somewhat" [bukhari 5645. S]... that is, because "Allah loves those who are truly patient." (3:146) Indeed, "how wondrous is the matter of the believer, for all that happens to him is good: If good befalls him he shows gratitude, and it is best for him; and if ill befalls him he shows patience, and it is best for him," observed the Noble Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, as reported in Sahih Muslim [ (14), 4. 2295].
  14. Consider Ayat 269 Of Surat Baqra.

As-Salaam alaikum, In Ayat 269 of Surat Baqra of the Holy Qur'an, Allahu, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, says:-- "...AND HE WHO IS GIVEN WISDOM HAS BEEN GIVEN MUCH GOOD." In considering this Ayat in his Tafsir, Sayyadi Sahl Ibn Abdullah al-Tustari, may Allah be Merciful to him, indicated that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated from the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, that he said:-- "The Qur'an is Allah's wisdom (hikma) among His servants. Whoever learns the Qur'an and acts according to it, it is as if Prophethood were incorporated within him, except that he does not receive revelation. He is called to account in the same way as Prophets except in the matter of conveying the message." And Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, also stated that the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:-- "The Qur'an is wisdom, and whoever learns the Qur'an in his youth, it mingles with his flesh and blood. And surely the Fire cannot touch a heart which contains the Qur'an, nor a body which avoids that which it prohibits, and keeps to what it permits, believes in that which is clear in it, refrains from judgement in that which is ambiguous in it, and does not make innovations regarding it."
  15. Did You Know That..?

As-Salaam alaikum, Did you know that our Lord, Allahu, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, sometimes tries the poor person by seeing the rich person and wondering why he is not like him; tries the ill by seeing the well, tries the lowly by seeing the noble; tries wives with husbands and husbands with wives; tries parents with children, and children with parents; tries teachers with students who go bad. All of these tests appraise those tested that what they really want is not in the hands of other people to give, but only in Allah's. Ibn Ata illah, Rahimahullah, said:-- "He has only made annoyance appear at their hands so that you might not rest contented with them. He wants to make you tired of everyone, so that you might not be distracted from Him by anything." [Hikam (8), 63: 235]... and this is the point of all our pain and/or disappointment, whether from ourselves or others: that it be a means of to Allah... the Creator and to whom belongs everything.
  16. Consider Ayat 97 Of Surat Nahli.

As-Salaam alaikum, Ayat 97 of Surat Nahli of the Holy Qur'an (16:97) reads:-- "And whosoever does a righteous deed, be it male or female, and is a believer, We shall assuredly give him a goodly life to live." Some commentators take this goodly life here to mean Contentment. And one may also, in this regard, bring in Abu Hurairah's report in the Hadith where he reported that the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:-- "Be scrupulous and you will be the greatest worshiper of all people; be content and you will be the most thankful of all people; wish for other people what you wish for yourself, and you will be a faithful servant; be a good neighbor to those who live near you and you will be a true believer. And laugh little, for much laughter murders the heart." Culled from: Al-Qushayri's 'EPISTLE ON SUFISM'
  17. Ayat 21 Of Surat Ahzab Considered.

As-Salaam alaikum, Ayat 21 of Surat Ahzab of the Holy Qur'an (33:21) reads:-- "You have indeed in the Apostle of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct), for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the praise of Allah." In view of this, since our object is Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, and the Final Day, we are charged to follow the path charted by Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam-- the path or guidance referred to as "..a beautiful example.." that Allah loves. The Prophet's beautiful example primarily lies in the inner qualities of his soul, designated by his compassion, justice, generosity, forgiveness etc We should emulate him in all this, by obeying the rules of Islamic Shari'a and overcoming everyday forgetfulness of the soul. This is closely related with the teaching in Ayat 31 of Surat Ali-Imran of the Holy Qur'an:-- "Say: If you love Allah, follow me, and Allah will love you and forgive you your sins" (3:31) In otherwords, the way to become worthy of Allah's Love is to follow Prophetic Guidance. The goal of following this guidance is explained by a famous Hadith Qudsi in which the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, quotes the words of Allah, Tabaraka Wa Ta'ala:-- "When My Servant approaches Me through good works, then I love him. When I love him, I am the hearing with which he hears, the eye with which he sees, the hand with which he grasps, and the foot with which he walks." [bukhari, Hadith No. 6502].
  18. Ayat 65, Surat Nisa'i Considered.

As-Salaam alaikum, In Ayat 65 of Surat Nisa'i of the Holy Qur'an (4:65), Allah Ta'ala says:-- "But No! By your Lord! They will never truly believe until they make you (Muhammad) the Judge of what is in dispute between them and find within themselves no dislike of that which you decide, and they submit with full submission." Thus it is not as some may assume... that they can connect to Allah, Most High Lord of the Universe, without the necessity of following His Messenger, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam. "They will never truly believe", in Me and in you O Muhammad, "until they make you the judge", ie make you the criterion of judgement regarding their rights; "...and find within themselves no dislike of that which you decide", ie they find no constraints or distress in what you have judged in your judgement, "..and they submit with full submission"-- ie that they confine themselves completely and perfectly to all your judgements thoroughly, and be guided in all they do by your decisions, as a covenant between you and them. This Ayat is an answer to those who claim that it is sufficient for them in their religion to follow the Book of Allah only, without following the Sunnah of His Messenger. They claim that the Sunnah and the Prophetic Traditions have weaknesses and obscurities. Whoever claims thus faces the danger of Kufr (disbelief) as this noble Ayat clarifies. Beware!!
  19. Consider Verse 3, Surat Najm.

As-Salaam alaikum, In verse 3 of Surat Najm of the Holy Qur'an (53:3), Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, says:-- "HE SPEAKS NOT FROM CAPRICE; IT IS NOUGHT BUT A REVELATION REVEALED." This is in reference to the Noble Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam. His words and acts were all refined, for his speech was/is the decisive truth; free from everything that people mingle with their words... of lies or other imperfections. Being aided with inerrancy, and chosen for the Divine Revelation, he spoke and acted solely at the Lord's Command. Blessed are those who emulate him, are guided by him and practice his Sunnah. O Lord, Allah, Grant us perfection in following Your Messenger, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, in his character, conduct and speech. Guide and Help us to achieve this; grant us sincerity and truthfulness in doing this; make us live and die following him, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, until the Day You reunite us in Your Abode of Honor... ameen.
  20. Ayat 18, Surat Muhammad.

As-Salaam alaikum, Ayat (verse) 18 of Surat Muhammad (47:18) of the Holy Qur'an reads:-- "FAQAD JA'A ASHRAATUHA"...meaning "But some of its signs (of the Last Hour) have already come.." While commenting on this Ayat when he was alive, during one of his public lectures, Sheikh Nazim al-Haqqani, may Allah be Merciful to him, observed that when Mercy leaves hearts, people begin to kill, fight and destroy. Today, we are in that era, everywhere people are fighting among themselves and it seems that a whip comes from Heaven with unexpected events like earthquakes, hurricanes, storms and floods. All of these are signs of the Last Hour, but majority of the people still do not go back to Allah, Azzah Wa Jallah. Instead, they say, 'it is nature'. As long as they say this, 'nature' will come against them every now and then.
  21. Ayat 18, Surat Muhammad.

As-Salaam alaikum, Ayat (verse) 18 of Surat Muhammad (47:18) of the Holy Qur'an reads:-- "FAQAD JA'A ASHRAATUHA"...meaning "But some of its signs (of the Last Hour) have already come.." 22. Islam: The 5 Pillars In Brief.

As-Salaam alaikum, As you are aware, Islam is a religion built on 5 pillars, namely:-- (1) The Shahada, that is to testify and believe that there is no Being worthy of worship but Allah, and that Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, is His Messenger. The Shahada curbs Shirk...associating Allah with anything/anybody in Worship. (2) Sallah- Observing the 5 daily Prayers. Sallah curbs arrogance and pride. (3) Zakkat- Paying/giving alms/Sadaqah/charity to the needy as specified in the Holy Qur'an. Zakkat curbs greed and hubb-ud-dunya..undue love of worldly life and its allurements. (4) Fasting- This refers to Fasting during the month of Ramadan.. the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. Fasting curbs flaws of the tongue, anger and Shahawat (desires) (5) Hajj- The pilgrimage to Makkah,, at least once in a lifetime, if one has the means to undertake that journey. The Hajj curbs everything... that is why it is only required once in lifetime. Hajjul-Mabroor...that is that Allah accepts, does away with everything. Allahu Akbar, Wa Lillahil-Hamd.
  23. Du'a For Easy Death.

As-Salaam alaikum, Death is a necessary end, it will come to everyone of us when its appointed time is due. Have you seen Sheikh Ibn Arabi's Du'a for relatively easy death? Reciting this Du'a regularly will facilitate easy death... find a copy of same hereby attached. Include this Du'a in your daily Zikr and list of Du'as. You will be glad you did. Best Wishes. 24. Ruling On Visiting The Masjid Of The Prophetﷺ

As-Salaam alaikum, Some of us... nay! a good number of us do NOT agree and/or accept the above observation or report about visiting the Noble Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, in Madinah. Rather, we accept and BELIEVE visiting him today in Madinah is like visiting him during his earthly life... Just as he told us, when he said:-- "WHOEVER VISITS ME WITHOUT ANY INTENDED PURPOSE OTHER THAN MY VISIT, IT IS INCUMBENT UPON ME TO BE HIS INTERCESSOR ON THE DAY OF RISING." [Tabarani, No. 13149, Ibn Muqri in his Mu'jam No.158]. ...and he also said, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, "WHOEVER (makes Pilgrimage then) VISITS ME AFTER MY DEATH, IT IS AS IF HE VISITED ME DURING MY (earthly) LIFE." [sunan Bayhaqi-No. 10409].
  25. Court Marriage And Sex

As-Salaam alaikum, I have noted Sister Nnkhan 1991's post/question above, to which I wish to contribute and/or clarify as follows:-- (1) Any 2 Muslims lovers {man and woman} can marry in any part of the world, provided that they do so in compliance with the Islamic Shari'a on the subject of marriage. (2) In Sydney or anywhere, such an event [Muslim marriage] can be formed if:--- (a) The Waliyy (Guardians) of the man... that is the groom and the woman... that is the Bride attend the event/ceremony and give their consent/formal blessing to the marriage. Of course the guardian of the bride will only do so..give her (the bride) away in marriage to the groom, only after knowing from the bride of her consent to that effect. And the Walyy (guardian) of the groom will also have discussed the issue with the groom and his family beforehand. (b) An agreed dowry is known/mentioned during the ceremony and paid by the groom, through his guardian, to the Bride, through her guardian. © The event of the Wedding ceremony is witnessed by at least 2 up-right and/or reliable Muslim adults. The witnesses to the marriage can be many people, as invited, but should be at least 2 good people. This is Islamic Wedding, and no marriage is consummated... whereby the bride and the groom have sexual intercourse...until this is done. Even where a couple is in a foreign land, they should get to an Islamic Madrasa/ Court or an Islamic Head Teacher where available for assistance in this regards.. to ensure that the above is done before an Islamic marriage is done. Many Regards.
