  1. Answering Back- (like A Muslim)

    :D Ohhh, I'm so sorry! :D
  2. Answering Back- (like A Muslim)

:D Yeah. :D And you're the marriage rant guy right? Anyway, back on topic.
  3. Answering Back- (like A Muslim)

Assalam-ul-Alaikum, The same thing can happen to "Hindu" women. What's his point? This is the sort of question an atheist/agnostic would ask. :D
  4. Women And Sexual Harassment

:D Some sicko no doubt but it might be a mistake.
  5. Religion In School!

:D I assume this poll is for schools in non-Islamic countries... :D Anyway... LOL! I have trouble believing that. Even if those so-called Muslims did tell you to convert they wouldn't say BECOME Islam! :D We are "Muslims", not "Islams". :D
  6. I Don't Get These Ppl!

:D Good point made about religion and culture, crystal sword. BUT, this guy said "...he was nasty to women". The word used here is extreme I think! He really seems to believe our Holy Prophet (pbuh) did something terrible to women! :D Oh well, I guess our religion will always be misunderstood in this world.
  7. I Don't Get These Ppl!

:D Bro Jibrael, that was funny! ("It's a misunderstanding because they see the hijab and say, "my word, we must get her into a miniskirt, how oppressed.") Too many people have misunderstandings.
  8. I Don't Get These Ppl!

:D Eoin, I see what you mean, i.e. part about making the connection. Sis um-eesaa, thank you for your concern. :D I am indeed blessed to be alive and be given an opportunity to help our poor brothers and sisters. Panthera Tigris, thank you for your reply. Polygamy is definitely something they're against. I guess this should explain a little why ppl have 2 different perceptions about Islam OR be open-minded and judgemental at the same time... :D
  9. I Don't Get These Ppl!

Assalam-ul-Alaikum, A few days ago, I was surfing through the net and I found this quote, clearly from a non-Muslim... "A human should learn to forgive like Muhammad, the Prophet from Islam. He returned to Mekkah but forgave his enemies...never mind the part where he was nasty to women" :D :D (where did he get that? referring to the last bit) Why do these ppl do this? How can this guy have completely different/ conflicting opinions? :D
  10. Was Muhammad Illiterate All His Life?

:D Ok, this is confusing. If Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) didn't learn how to read and write throughout his life then how did he write the letters he sent to kings to invite them to Islam? :D
  11. Art & Design In Your Uni.

Assalam-ul-Alaikum, Well, I know a sister who's doing graphic design just like you bro.
  12. Strength Of This Hadith

:D YES! :D Check out the link Abu_Isa gave earlier, where it says the hadith can be applied for a woman lying to her husband (for strengthening ties of love between them) as well. And also... Um Kalthoom (may Allaah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “He is not a liar who reconciles between people and conveys something good or says something good.†(Reported by al-Bukhaari, 2495).
  13. Greetings

Hello aspasia, You have come to the right place. This is the best and most popular Islamic site ever. :D Recently, people have showing more patience so your timing is good. Happy posting.
  14. Questions For Sisters Only!

:D Bro insurrection, please don't be angry otherwise later on you might regret writing things in your frustration. Since, I'm not from a Western country, this question won't apply for me. :D But I have to tell you income and education level is important (for most of the people anyway). How can you expect the girl's parents to give away their daughter to someone who's unemployed and hasn't even graduated from college? I agree, such things don't always guarentee happiness and success.
  15. Niqab Or No Niqab?

:D I don't get how niqaab can be fardh/wajib for the following reasons: 1. None of the scholars insist on covering the face in Salaah for women. 2. Once while the prophet was admonishing and preaching to a group of women after having admonished the men on the Id day, "...a woman having a dark spot on her cheek stood up..." seeking clarification on the subject the prophet was discussing. (Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2, Hadith No. 1926) According to this, how can covering the face be compulsory if the Prophet (pbuh) didn't object to her not covering her face? 3. The Prophet (pbuh) is reported to have said, "...The Muhrima (a woman in the state of Ihram) should not cover her face, or wear gloves." (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 3, Hadith No. 1838) If exposing the face is Haraam for women, then how can it be made Fard in Ihraam? 4. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof... (Al-Qur'an 24:31) When Ibne Abbaas (RA), the leading commentator of the Qur'an was asked about the verse mentioned above as to what it meant, he replied, "it refers to the face and hands". (Collected by Ibn Abee Shaybah in al-Musannaf, Vol. 3, p. 540 & 541, hadith no. 16997 & 17012 and al-Bayhaqi in Sunan al- Kubraa. Al-Albaanee ruled in Jilbaab al-Mar'ah al-Muslimah, pp 59-60, that the isnaad of this statement is saheeh.) P.s: I'm just trying to understand. I do NOT wish to have a debate.
