Salam, Might be a useful option for people. Wassalam.
4. Almaghrib

as-salamu 'alaykum, I attended their opening course in the UK, and it was very good, masha'Allah. Recommended. was-salam.
5. as-salamu 'alaykum, This is a super course. Strongly recommended. was-salam.
6. Salam, Have your parents met the brother? If not, could a meeting be arranged? If they see he's a decent person, that'd help. Do you also have a relative or family friend that your parents respect that can argue your corner for you? Wassalam.
7. Salam, Two brothers I know who went with them for Hajj recommended (you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_you are not allowed to post links yetal-hidaayah.travel/"]Al-Hidaayah. I think they are expensive though, possibly because they provide accommodation very close to the Jamarat in Mina (the European tents are normally far away I hear). They don't include Qurbani, but then I suspect most Hajj operators don't because I believe some people are exempt from offering Qurbani. Hopefully someone else will clarify. Wassalam.
8. Islam In England,

Salam, I don't think threats or punishments would work - at least I wouldn't respond well to that. Are you close to your sister? How about spending more time with her (maybe via a hobby or interest), getting closer to her, and then explaining to her nicely why boy-girl interaction is frowned upon in Islam. And then say you're just concerned for her - you're advising her because you care. It's said that one of the reasons people look for pre-marital relationships (not that your sister has done that - we don't know that from what you said) is because they're not getting the emotional support at home. It could be a case of that as you mentioned you guys only see your father for part of the year. Allahu 'Alam, but maybe it'd help if you were to compensate for that by being a bit of a father-figure for her. You mentioned there aren't many Muslims near you, but it'd help if your sister had Muslim friends. (Is there a masjid in the area where she could meet other sisters?) Obviously it's harder to be Muslim if everyone around you isn't, and are doing things that aren't Islamic. Wassalam.

(you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_you are not allowed to post links yetcageprisoners(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/articles.php?id=21859"]Down Memory Well Babar Ahmad Last night I lay awake unable to sleep, As I let my soul wander too deep. My heart was in doubt about Your Promise, No-one could give me solace. My soul left my body and my body left my cell, As I pulled up my pail from Memory Well. I journeyed back to the time of my birth, Not knowing then what it was worth. What I discovered was a chest of treasure, As I realised You had blessed me without measure. I remembered all the good You had done for me, In all my years when my body was free. I was hungry and You fed me, I was bare and You clothed me. I was alone and You gave me company, By blessing me with friends and family. When I was sick You cured me. When I was hurt You healed me. When I was sad You cheered me up. When I was broken You fixed me up. I veered off the path but You brought me back. I lost my footing but You set me on track. I went astray but You gave me direction. I felt afraid but You gave me protection. When the pack of beasts savaged me that day, And the racist devils mocked how I pray, I asked You for death but You gave me life. I asked it to end but You gave me respite. As I lay in pain in the cell that December, You sent me a gift I will always remember. A dream unlike I had ever seen before. A vision that made my spirit soar. What I saw that winter’s night, Turned my darkness into light. Even as I bled to the bone, I knew then that I was not alone. You set me free so my body could heal, And my heart and soul could recover their zeal. You were preparing me for what lay ahead: A path of peril, fear and dread. Once again You blessed me with captivity, And made me into someone I never dreamed to be. O Allah! I never sought all this attention, That I got because of my detention. The more they defamed me the more You honoured me. The more they detained me the more the blind could see. The harder it got the more You helped me. The darker it got the more You enlightened me. As I then gazed at my memories in the pail, I began to see beyond the veil. I truly was an ungrateful servant, Whose woes appeared ever so fervent. As my feelings of sorrow turned into shame, I realised I had only myself to blame. How dare I moan about my pain, When others far worse did not complain? My throbs of doubt transformed into certainty, As I fell asleep with my soul in serenity. I had quenched my thirst from Memory Well, And pulled myself out from my own hell. O Allah, forgive me for my ingratitude! O Allah, ignore my shameful attitude! You were always there when I wanted You to be, And I know now that You will never abandon me. 12. Unislamic Desires

Salam, All guys don't do this, and I don't think it'd be 'normal' in a healthy relationship, so you're not overreacting in my opinion. What's concerning is, from what you said, he doesn't seem to intend on changing - would you really want to marry such a person? Wassalam.

Ignorance is bliss in this respect. Also, it might be idealistic, but some would argue that a person should be married according what they are in the 'here and now', not according to their past. Oh, don't let me put you off - I'd still recommend it and really enjoyed it, and want to go back iA. It's just worth mentioning that it's not as 'crisp' as Istanbul.

There are some (you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_you are not allowed to post links yetgawaher(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/index.php?showtopic=36024"]Marrakech pics on the forum too. It's also a nice place, but arguably not quite in Istanbul's league. One thing you'd notice about Marrakech is that it has some very... strong smells because of the tanning of leather they have going on. (Sorry - bit off-topic there).
21. Turkey

Peace, Istanbul is a bit of a postcard city - most of your pictures will come out fantastic there because of the bright blue skies and amazing architecture. (Actually, there's some pictures in the IF Gallery (you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_you are not allowed to post links yetgawaher(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/index.php?showtopic=16717"]here). About the call to prayer: the words are different at dawn. See (you are not allowed to post links yet)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_you are not allowed to post links yetislamonline(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/english/introducingislam/Worship/Prayers/article03.shtml"]below: I think the adhan at Dawn is wonderful to respond to (one of the great things about Istanbul) - it's only tough if you try to fight it. It's apt that the person who hears the adhan says after As-Salatu khairun min an-naum ("Prayer is better than sleep") words like Sadaqta wa bararta ("You have uttered the truth and counselled right"). I think they don't mind non-Muslims visiting the Masjids in Istanbul, which is what I saw. That's cool because in Marrakech for example, I don't think they don't let them in. Bit of a shame and a missed opportunity there..

The notes they'll provide iA are superb btw. Wassalam.
