Evil, Pagan Valentine's Day

Alhamdulilleh we’re Muslims. We don’t have anything in our religion, when it is traced to its root, that will surprise us by being evil. Alhamdulilleh our two Eids are from Allah, who is the source of all good. A good look into anyone else’s holiday, though, will show us evil paganism at the root.
Why is it called Valentine’s Day? The full name of the day is Saint Valentine’s Day, a feast day of the Catholic church. It is a day they honour and pray to a man who was martyred a long time ago. Why was he martyred? The answer to this question is very interesting. Why does a priest’s name have anything to do with the romance that this holiday encourages?
There was a time in history when the emperor of the Roman empire, Claudius the Second, needed soldiers for his army. So he made a law that no one could get married, or engaged. He wanted the men to be single, because he thought they would fight better in the wars. But the Christians living under the emperor wanted to be pure and get married. A priest named Valentine secretly performed religious marriages for these Christians. When he was caught by the Romans, they put him in jail. Because he was performing these marriages, and because he refused to worship the gods of the Romans, the Romans killed him. Before he died, he may have written a letter to the jailer’s daughter, and signed it with his name. He was killed on February 14, about three hundred years before the Prophet Muhammed was born.
So that’s it? The date is the only reason Valentine’s Day has that name? No. There was a holiday celebrated by the Romans long before the priest Valentine was around. It was a disgusting festival, where the main events had to do with unlawful relation between men and women. They honored two different gods, and they usually celebrated it in the middle of February. That’s why people these days use Valentine’s Day to start or continue illegal relationships between men and women.
Now, when you read a little of the history of early Christianity, you will see that the Romans had a lot of power. The only way that a lot of Christians wouldn’t be hurt or killed by the Romans was for the Romans to accept Christianity. And the Romans were serious pagans. So Valentine’s Day is a perfect example of the way that the Christians bent their religion to make the Romans like it more, and accept it. Their festival could still take place, the Christians could still honour their saint, but the Roman part of the day is what people will remember most. The Christians bent their religion too much.
Who’s that fat little baby with the bow and arrow? That’s Cupid, the Roman god of love. What about the red hearts, with arrows through them? They are supposed to show the heart hit by Cupid’s arrow, which would then feel the pain of lovesickness. Lovesickness is what happens when a person loves someone they’re not married to. People who are married to each other would never feel lovesick. The little ‘Valentine’ cards people pass around on this day provoke ideas opposite to right-thinking and purity. Even though this day shares his name, Valentine’s Day would never have pleased the man it has been named after, and it should be clear to you by now that it could never please Allah!
Remember what Allah says in Surah Al-Maidah:
Say: (O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)) "Oh people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Exceed not the limits in your religion (by believing in something) other than the truth, and do not follow the vain desires of people who went astray before and who misled many, and strayed (themselves) from the Right Path." Ayah 77
