  2. Islam in Egypt

:sl: warahmatullaahi wabarakatuh, May Allaah make it easy on you, Aameen. I don't know if the Jaami'a actually has specific places accomodated for foreign students. The students I know all live near by or live with other students but the accomodation is not provided by the jaami'at. In short no. To do certain courses there is a requirement, e.g that you have completed their version of 6th form (last two years before University) or the last year atleast. All classes are taught in arabic and therefore I would recommend that you firstly go to an arabic institute and get a good grip in arabic. A year is more than sufficient and you can then ask what courses you're allowed to enter. Note that if you want to do the Shari'ah program for example, you have to have qualification from Masr and you have to go through various examination. From reciting ahadeeth to Qur'aan and knowing the basic and so forth. How much does it cost? The last time I checked, it doesn't cost. Its free. However, because it is free, you find that there are students who are just there bila ma3'na and they do not benefit but waste their time. You can ask for private tuition but likewise you can equally benefit from studying their under the free education. It depends on your motivation. The teachers are there to teach. Like sister Ummammaar, no, but it helps to have someone, even if it is a group of sisters. Wallaahu'3llaam. My knowledge is based on what I know from 2006-2007, things may have changed now. I hope that was beneficial. Hayyakillaah
  3. Our Partners

:D warahmatullahi wabarakatuh My brother and his friends were chased by arwaah (form of jinn) 2 days ago, how did they know? Well they got chased by a bunch of clothing with no one inside and they got kicked afterward and there was no one there…..lakin Allahu’Alim. Hadith - Sahih Muslim 6757, Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, similar narration 6759 by 'Aisha, r.a. Allah's Apostle (pbuh) said: There is none amongst you with whom is not an attache from amongst the jinn (devil). They (the Companions) said: Allah's Apostle (pbuh) with you too? Thereupon he said: Yes, but Allah helps me against him and so I am safe from his hand and he does not command me but for good. Are you scared now? :D I’ll post more stuff on jinn’s inshallah.
  4. Vote For Masjid To Be Built

:sl: warahamatullaahi wabarakatuh, I find it completely bewilding to hear that yet more Masjids are being built. It is not so much the level of Masjid being built i'm complaining about, rather its the amount of money being invested in these Masjids. There are already numerous Masjids, which tend to be empty most of the time subhanallaah. Should we not be investing all these money for a better cause? help the orphan? the needy? or is it all about lavish places. May Allaah guide us to the straight path.
  5. Dreaming Of Jannah...

:sl: warahmatullaahi wabarakatuh, I'd like to see Allaah, the prophets, scholars, umm al-mumineen and the pious believers Inshallaah. "In Paradise there are dwellings whose inside can be seen from the outside, and the outside can be seen from inside. Allâh [swt] has prepared them for those who feed the hungry, and speak softly and gently, fast continuously and pray at night whilst the people are asleep." [sahîh al-Jâmi' as-Saghîr, 2/220, no. 2119] "and beautiful mansions in Gardens of everlasting bliss" [9:72] In some places in the Qur'ân, Allâh (swt) described these dwellings as ghurafât [chambers or dwellings]: "and they will reside in the high dwellings [Paradise] in peace and security." [34:37] The reward for the slaves of the all-Merciful will be: "Those will be rewarded with the highest place [in Paradise] because of their patience. Therein they shall be met with greetings and the word of peace and respect" [25:75]
  6. Random Incoherence

:) Taking every opportunity to embrass you, also making sure they make you feel like a red tomato at any given time :sl: I know, it is really mean! and they remind you of all the naughty things you did. So to make myself look better I always go, 'a###### that was such a cute thing for me to do'. They get annoyed :sl: At least the canadians get snow, the last we got snow was like 5 years ago. And then schools and everything had to be shut :j: best day!
  7. Random Incoherence

:) I don't know if you have a normal household but in my family, baby photo are the source of all embrassing-ness (Is that even a word? :sl: ). I practically hide all my baby photos, I hate when relatives come up to you and say how beautiful you were as a child then start inquiring about Marriage :sl: . Random: It is really cold and its not even fair how there is not even a droplet of snow, I kid you not my fellow brothers and sister :j:
  8. Extreme Horrors Of Darkness..........

  9. Random Incoherence

:) Pinky: Gee, Brain what are we going to do tonight? Brain: What we do everynight pinky, try and take over the world :sl: and the song went something like...'....one is a genius the other is insane...' :j: Tom and Jerry were good but it was quite annoying at how dim Tom was, why did Jerry always have to win?! :sl: Discrimination I say! :)
  10. Random Incoherence

:D You will find grown ups trying to find nemo :) , no names mentioned for my own safety of course :sl: . Man someone jogged my memory about pinky and the brain, anyone remember that genius programme? Lab rats thinking BIG! That is what the world is missing these days! B)

  14. What Is 1+1 = ?

:D Ok is it the binary system like llogical said? The binary arithmetic would produce 10, 1+1=10 but pronounced one, zero rather ten, sa7?
  15. What Is 1+1 = ?

:D When you're doing logic gates, 1+1=1, the system does not comprehend anything but 0 and 1. Don't know if that is the right answer.
  16. Homosexuality And Lesbianism

Greetings, The matter of: "If its not harming you what business of yours is it?" tends to rise in matters concerning homesexuality. As llogical said it so comically and to the point Its strange that while you state there be no problem in letting people indulge in homosexuality that it is not quite alright for people to choose their sexuality at a younger age. Again people will say why poke your nose in something that doesn't concern you? Just because something doesn't harm us directly does not automatically mean it should be accepted. The creator commanded us not to practise such thing and as creation it is our duty to follow the command. We were created for a purpose and God knows us better than we know ourselves. Although most of the time us humans have a tendensy to delude ourselves that we know it all. If homosexuality is seen as acceptable now then what? Does one not question as to why male and male or vice versa can't have children naturally? even for those who don't adhere to a religion, why did nature only design so that male and female can reproduce? Furthermore the case of homosexuality and lesbianism is sadly no longer just kept to the privacy of their homes.
  17. Islam in Egypt

:D warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, No that is not the case, they still have a high reputation for their teachings, people have this misconception about wrong things being taught in Azhar university about Islam which is not true. I myself had waswas until visiting the place and looking at what is taught. Alhamdulillah, Islam is as it has always been and there are numerous teachers and ulama who teach there. Azhar also teaches medicine etc and in that field it lacks in comparison to other universities such as Aaynu shams and Cairo. As for your second question, yes there are practising muslims although i would have liked the percentage to be higher than i see it. Having said that Allah knows about the hearts of mankind. No, wearing the hijaab is not banned nor is having a beard banned. Also women are allowed to work with hijaab. I have not seen any bid'ah Allahu'Alim
  18. Moment Of Laughters

:D warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Secret Cat Diary DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from shredding the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant and cough it up on the carpeting. DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favourite chair...must try this on their bed (again). DAY 762 - Slept all day so that I could annoy my captors with sleep depriving, incessant pleas for food at ungodly hours of the night. DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was...Hmmm. Not working according to plan... DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid. My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth and the tiny bit of flesh under my claws. DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the foul odor of the glass tubes they call "beer." More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage. DAY 774 - I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The Bird on the other hand has got to be an informant. He has mastered their frightful tongue (something akin to mole speak) and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured. But I can wait, it is only a matter of time. :D Share your fav jokes....
  19. Come On England

That was a such a disappointing match, although we are in the lead of Group B, that was defo not a good start to the World Cup. Lets hope thursday's match against Trinidad is an improvement. :D warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

  21. Our Partners

:D warahmatullahi wabarakatuh All it means is that there is no one amongst the creation of insan that does not have a partner whom is a jinn, although we can't see them they are there. They can cause harm but majority of the time they do not bother us (humans). Hope that makes sense :D
  22. Moment Of Laughters

:D warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, :D On the topic of cats, my sister used to have a cat (well several actually), my brother hated them simply because once one of them ate his bird :D. anyhow every eid she used to insist that the cats should have henna on their paws O_o *************** "Artichokes ... are just plain annoying ... After all the trouble you go to, you get about as much actual 'food' out of eating an artichoke as you would rom licking thirty or forty postage stamps. Have the shrimp ####tail instead." -- Miss Piggy "The most remarkable thing about my mother is that for 30 years she served the family nothing but leftovers. The original meal has never been found." --Sam Levinson "This recipe is certainly silly. It says to separate two eggs, but it doesn't say how far to separate them." -- Gracie Allen "I've been on a constant diet for the last two decades. I've lost a total of 789 pounds. By all accounts, I should be hanging from a charm bracelet." -- Erma Bombeck "I told my doctor I get very tired when I go on a diet, so he gave me pep pills. Know what happened? I ate faster." -- Joe E. Lewis "I will not eat oysters. I want my food dead -- not sick, not wounded -- dead." -- Woody Allen "Food is an important part of a balanced diet." -- Fran Lebowitz "Health food makes me sick." -- Calvin Trillin "Watermelon -- it's a good fruit. You eat, you drink, you wash your face." -- Enrico Caruso "Old people shouldn't eat health foods. They need all the preservatives they can get." -- Robert Orben
  23. The Right Uni

:D warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, I'm trying to find some info on good university for the field i want to go into. I would like to do either optometry or become an eye surgeon, not set on which one yet. I've looked at few unis which are good, namingly UCL, King's college, Queen mary and Uni of manchester. I hear manchester is really good but i'm not sure if i'm willing to move up north :D Also i'm kinda confused about eye surgery, some one said you do medicine then specialise, someone else said you just do the course straight on for 5 yrs?? Does anyone know anything about this? Any feedback would really be appreciated. Jizakallah khair in advance
