Citizen X 0 Posted June 12, 2005 (edited) :D When I eventually get some time, :D , I'd like to make a fresh, hearty beef stew meal using the slow cooker. Here's my idea so far: - 10-12 pieces of beef stew (my mom washes the beef pieces for me) - 1/2 cup of water - 1/2 cup of juice (maybe apple juice or pomegranate juice) - salt - pepper - 1 or 2 different herbs - possibly a dash of cinnamon - chopped fresh potatoes - chopped fresh carrots - diced fresh onions The stuff would just be placed in the slow cooker, stirred, and allowed to cook for 4 hours (using the high setting if there is a high/low switch). If I do the above recipe, the only ingredient I'd need to buy at this point is the carrots. However, I'd like to add one more fresh vegetable to the mix. Any ideas what would work well with the above items? I was thinking green beans might work because I was trying to come up with a green vegetable. If I can get fresh baby corn somehow (not sure if they're sold as baby corn), that could be interesting. :D Edited June 12, 2005 by insurrection

*eli* 0 Posted June 15, 2005 :D Green peppers... Tomatoes... I love Cabbage with meat, it goes well together, adds a kind of sweetness. Otherwise, Brocolli is another favourite of mine, or cauliflower. What about Fresh Spinach? :D your Muslim sis.
