Yes, there is definitely a such thing as Tahini sauce. I bought some so I could make hummus. This was like the secret ingredient! :D

Tahini sauce is essentially sesame seed sauce. You can look at your local grocery store, in the area where they sell ethnic foods like hummus or other Meditarranean dishes. Or, you can try to find a local Arab food store in the area where they will likely sell things like chick peas, olive oil, and tahini sauce.

Assalam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Here is a recipe for home made Tahini sauce.

4 Cups Sesame Seeds

1/4 to 1/2 Cup Veg Oil

Preheat the oven to 350° F.

1, Spread the sesame seeds on a shallow baking tray and bake, shaking frequently, until fragrant, 8 to 10 minutes. Do not brown. Cool.

or you pan fry them in a frying pan.

2, Put the sesame seeds in a blender or food processor fitted with the metal blade.

3, Add the vegetable oil. Process to a smooth paste, about 5 minutes.

4, Add more oil if necessary, to bring the paste to a thick pouring consistency.

5, Tahini will keep stored in a tightly covered jar in the refrigerator for several months.
