did we come from monkeys

If we did indeed derived from apes and evoluition did occur then we will find that there would be many creatures who would assume the shape of cross-animals. But we find in nature that is not so.

for example evolution claims reptile turned into bird. If this was true we will see that there would be thousands if not billions of different animals resembling the cross-shape between reptile and bird. this is of course not true.

Fossils have been found of ancient half-birds and half-reptiles, other transitional creatures that have the characteristics of several species. There are animals living now that have the look or specific features that make it difficult to classify them within one class.

There is even more evidence in the case of humans. Numerous paleontological findings show lots of transitional, ape-like forms, some of which may have been our direct ancestors. Take a look at monkeys! Children are fascinated with them because they are so much like us. Their hands have human-like life lines.

But even outward looks are not that important. If we analyse the genetic structure of animals, say men and apes, we will discover the obvious similarities. The difference is minimal in the case of people and monkeys, especially apes, like a couple of different genes, and greater between men and mice, for instance. Still the genetic makeup is very similar in all the mammals, which points to the common ancestors.

Most religions insist on the godly origin of man, of course, but believers should not think that if the evolution theory is right than their faith is wrong. Religion is not about science, it is about faith and ethics and love/hate and many other things.

When the Bible or Koran or any other sacred books say "God created man" the true meaning is not necessarily our simplistic understanding of the process when God sits down in front of a table, collects some flesh, shapes it into a human form, breathes in life etc.

Humans did not evolve from monkeys. They evloved from a species know as hominids.

Today only 3 species of hominds were know to exist. They all lived around the same time period however the other two species died out leaving us with what is now modern day humans.

The whole evolution thing is not bogus and has been proved by fossil records.

Ah... lets watch our wording here my friend. The evolution theory is a theory. Until is can be really proven, it will continue to be a theory, a hypothesis, an educated guess. When it is proven, it will then be known as fact.

So, no, its has not been proven by fossil records. Fossil records can be intereperted to support such a theory though. And, can also be interperted to support other, less known theories.

No, we didnt evolve from monkeys...

but we  sure can make ourselves look like them!

:D

omg sis i posted that very pic on another board and i got my head bitten off, because i forgot that there was a complete michael jackson freak out there. :P oh, what a terrible time. i thought it was hillarious... she, however, did not.

as for evolution... i'm not sure what to believe. there's so much of science that goes completely against religion.. so yeah.

if we analyse the genetic structure the most similar one to human is potato....what is this? did we come from a potato....it will be the funniest idea that i;ve ever heard....

and there are no numerous paleontological findingins...when scientists find an fossil they give them a name....every findings have a name....can you say one's name...and then we discuss about it...because there is no conclusion if you say there are so many paleontological findings. i say also there are no.....every words need proof...

btw this is not to offend you just trying to discuss about it....:D

Fossils have been found of ancient half-birds and half-reptiles, other transitional creatures that have the characteristics of several species. There are animals living now that have the look or specific features that make it difficult to classify them within one class.

Firstly, fossils are not extremely reliable, not only because they are so scarce but also because evolutionist forge unnecssary links between them. They dont differenciate between variation and evolution. There can be small change in structure due to variation in species.

Do u remmeber when evolutionist claimed that they found a fossil of half-ape half-human face? Turned out they actually made that to fool ppl, so naturally their fake fossils was chucked out of British Museum.

By the way, why did these creatures just vanish? Y didn they survive? There would have been couple of billion different species displaying the evolution between reptile and bird. How come we only find species in 'discrete' packs?

And can u provide more info on the half-bird and half-fossil please? Including the refrence if possible.

There is even more evidence in the case of humans. Numerous paleontological findings show lots of transitional, ape-like forms, some of which may have been our direct ancestors. Take a look at monkeys! Children are fascinated with them because they are so much like us. Their hands have human-like life lines.

Character wise the closest resemblace to human is of an ant: they bury the dead in the same way and believe it or not but they actually have market exchanging place like humans, they have much intelligence akin to the ones found in humans. Genetics wise the closest resemblance of human is to a potato i think (can som1 confirm it plz, coz i am not too sure).

Most religions insist on the godly origin of man, of course, but believers should not think that if the evolution theory is right than their faith is wrong. Religion is not about science, it is about faith and ethics and love/hate and many other things.

Thr genius and greates scientist of 20th century Albert Einstein stated: "Science without religion is lame and religion without science is blind". Quran, revealed 14 centuries ago matches with every single scientific discovery even those made in 20th century, like embroyology, geology, oceanelogy, geogly, cosmology.

When the Bible or Koran or any other sacred books say "God created man" the true meaning is not necessarily our simplistic understanding of the process when God sits down in front of a table, collects some flesh, shapes it into a human form, breathes in life etc.

I do not know about bible, but Quran describes human formation thus:

"Then WE placed him As ( a drop of) sperm In a place of rest, firmly fixed; Then WE made the sperm Into a clot of congealed blood; Then of that clot WE made A (foetus) lump; then WE Made out of that lump Bones and clothed the bones With flesh; then WE developed Out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, The Best to create!" Indeed we find that bones are made before flesh according to modern science.

Peace

Actually are closes link genetically is a chimp which I believe has about around 96% of the same DNA as humans.

As for closest behavior to humans, this goes to some small ape in africa (forget the name.) The reason it is considered the closest to humans is because it is the only animal that has sex without the purpose of reproduction.

Although ants do show intresting traits such as farming milk weed bugs which in itself is amazing considering their low intelligence. They have also found out reacently that walrus will mourn their dead by the ways of the family individualy marking the carcuss then swimming away.

Dont forget, an adult chimp can grasp abstract concepts that a 2-3 year old cannot.

Can't quote your posting, Danish, because it is too long, but this is my reply.

First of all, you have a very critical mind. Add to this more education and you may become a great scientist.

Secondly, the evolution theory is just a theory, of course, and it has many flaws and may be only partly right or completely wrong. Similarly, the creation theory is also a theory, and even the existence of God cannot be proved or disproved, so it is also a theory. To every argument, there is a counter-argument, and so on and so forth. Arguments don't lead to proof. Even the above statement of mine is also a kind of theory...

"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/diapsids/birds/archaeopteryx.html"]Link to a page describing archaeopteryx, half-bird, half-reptile[/url]

Mind you, the above article doesn't prove or disprove the evolution theory.

Looks like in vitro fertilization using transvaginal oocyte retrieval, followed by accellerated bone and tissue buildup... Where did the sperm come from?

Exactly, evolution is just a theory, in science theories are proved wrong all the time. But the problem is that some people rely on this theory far too much, and there are some who choose to blindly accept it, without pondering it. I did once half-considered the Theory of Evolution, but now i think that this is perhaps the most unscientific and illogical theory, and alas the one most funded by media.

Since i believe in the creation of universe by God, i will be glad to answer any query u may have regarding it....but there is a huge difference between biblical and quranic creation story...

Link to a page describing archaeopteryx, half-bird, half-reptile

Mind you, the above article doesn't prove or disprove the evolution theory.

The article suggests the evidence of evolution by stating that archaeopteryx had teeths and rather strong breastbone and had claws. First of all the article is rather outdated about the views on breastbone. The 7th fossil of archaeopteryx found condems this idea. Quoted from Nature magazine:

The recently discovered seventh specimen of Archaeopteryx preseves a partial rectangular strenum long suspected but never previously documented. This attests to its strong flight muscles .
Hence was not a half-bird, it could indeed fly.

We find birds with claws on their wings, just like archaeopteryx, such as birds called Taouraco and Hoatzin. These are fully birds with no reptile characteristic. The have claws to hold on to the barnches. As for the teeth there are some reptile who dont have teeths at all, when examining the fossils we find that there were birds with teeth, but they were birds not half-birds. Beside, the teeth structure of archaeopteryx and other birds is totally different from their ancestors.

I do not know much about this topic from Islamic perspective. But the colours of humans are Affected by enviroment and genetics. If u r exposed to a lot of sun ur skin will tan, or even got brown/black after lot of years.

If God made it... should us be all the same ?

35:27 Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the cloud, then We bring forth therewith fruits of various colors; and in the mountains are streaks, white and red, of various hues and (others) intensely black?

35:28 And of men and beasts and cattle are various species of it likewise; those of His servants only who are possessed of knowledge fear Allah; surely Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.

as you see in these verses the race are not important for Allah but taqwa, i mean the difference is for us not for Allah....

it is just a color....if every people were same, the world will be something weird like , wont it?

But while the quaran said the human has been created by god, it does not explain why it was made with differences.

And FYI those differences is the biggest proof of the darwin evolutionary theory.

Well then y do we find the colours between balck and white? Y not pink, blue, purple, violet, indigo, green etc...?!

Our colour changes depending on the amount of sun we are exposed to. Clear example is of tan. If you use Ultraviolet light u can create tan, hence go darker.

Colour is not due to evolution but sun and heat. Hence i have no idea where evolution is involved in that.

That is a small variation found in humans (i.e. colour), like there r variations in every species.
