Adam From "water"/"ground"/"semen" = Evolution?

Recommended Posts

Allah creates WHAT He wills and HOW He ever wills. Good example from this all is "Adam and Eve", because DNA-tested people all over the world have conformed that we all humans have common ancestors (at least same mother according to tests, “Hawwa†is translated as “original mother†from Quran, there had to be male too), as far as 200 000 years. It does not matter how they came here (like for example from leap of evolution, 3:59 says that "The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: “Beâ€. And he was", which can only mean that similitude is on both coming from womb they were created without [HUMAN!] father, as in 16:40 is said that Allah created ALL by word “Be†too, “Be†is not quick, Jesus grew slowly in womb) when Koran renounces that all humans, so Adam too, are created from water, clay (/ground/dust f.ex. in 23:12) and semen, how this could be fitted together but by evolution starting in and from water (sea), leading to semen that grow from eating food, grown from ground, then from there to womb that semen requires? In fact it can not mean anything else, as 37:11 is speaking about all humans created from ground in general level, not just about Adam, and he has not been excluded from parts of Koran where mankind has been created by semen (“nutfahâ€). So we can connect this development also to other species living before, turning to "ashes" even then, coming building blocks for us too, and Allah says in Koran that He created those also from water (f.ex.21:30) like "all living things" on earth (evolution started from water, in all living water is important and in searching for life in space water is priority), which continued on land as same family coming from water.

So humans are most accurately described to be created from water, the ground and from semen, animals overall from water (=by evolution) as scale is larger, and biggest scale of opportunities for creation is when “jinns†(other than human/animals) are said to be created from “fire without smokeâ€, from (early died and exploded) stars (producing material for everything) as in space fire has no smoke due to lack of oxygen. ). In Koran might be advice to think other earlier (and those lived with us) human-like also, were they humans or not, in fact it is said in 6:133 that we have been raised from "posterity of other people".

Interesting points, but no one knows.

Allah knows best.

I personally dont support the theory of evolution, but I dont go out of my way to prove its wrong, either. The word of Allah suffices me better than the words of the ignoramasses known as scientists.

Asalaamu alaikum,

I wouldn't be so quick to discredit scientists. We are, after all, encouraged to gain knowledge about the world around us. That's why the scientists and thinkers during the golden age of Islam did so well, they used Qur'an as a basis for their studies and never strayed into unacceptable territory (philosophy that instills doubt in your mind).

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu,

Wow, I can't believe what I'm hearing. The cute theory on evolution above ignores the proofs from the Qur'an and Sunnah that Allah (swt) directly created a SINGLE MAN, fashioned him, breathed into him something of His spirit, and created from this single man his mate the first woman, and from these two the rest of mankind.

The above ideas on evolution ALSO forget the fact that Adam was created in Jannah, not on Earth.

Fear God with respect to mistinerpreting the Qur'an with personal ideas.

And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect. (Qur'an 30:21)

I think there maybe some room in Islam for the theories of evolution.... with regards of animals and plants, and OK I might agree with you about Adham but I thought Adham is plural...... and not singular.

Asalaamu alaikum,

We do believe that Adam (AS) was 80 feet tall and lived for a long time right? If humans then were giants and lived for long periods of time and now we're short and live shorter lives, wouldn't you qualify that as evolution?

There's no need to be scared of the term as long as we all understand it with regards to our beliefs. Clearly we have not evolved from apes as Allah explicitly mentions our creation as the greatest among his creation. That is not to say that changes to His creation do not happen over time due to His direction. Allahu alam.

Would a be an insult to evolve from an ape like creature?

I think it is an insult, as it undermines the whole fact that humans have been recognized by Allah as His most important creation. All of the angels (except Iblis) bowed down to Adam, that should be a testament to the greatness of Allah's best creation.

It would not suffice to say that over millions of years some fit apes decided to stand upright, grow opposable thumbs, larger skulls and the like. Sure there are similarities between apes and humans, but it's not right to discredit the creation stories in Qur'an and Torah.

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu,

Yes, and there's something called a methodology of interpretation, because not all interpretations are VALID or SUPPORTED BY EVIDENCE. Just because someone THINKS of a new interpretation, doesn't mean we give the guy any weight.

A valid interpretation must take into account ALL proofs in the Qur'an, Sunnah, consensus of the companions and SPECIALISTS in the field, as well as perfect knowledge of Arabic and how to balance the relative strengths of all of these.

Not just any guy off the street can expect to be allowed to "interpret" when they don't have any ability to.

Do you let a guy who owns a medical journal to operate on you? Do you care what a non-specialist doctor thinks of your surgery procedure? Then why on Earth do we care what ignorant people have to say about the most rigorous science in religion? We don't care, is the answer.

I have added into this writing later that 86:6-7 when it told us about producing semen in "between backbone and ribs", obviously meant our stomach, as without food (grown from ground, "clay", or from meat of animal that has eaten animal grown from food from ground of the earth) there will not be any sperm (there will be no growth or life neither).

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu,

Wa aleikum salaam rahmatullah.

Wow, I can't believe what I'm hearing. No it DOES NOT ignore anything. According to DNA-tested people all over the world, all humans have common ancestors, same father (Adam) and mother (Hawwa) about 200 000 years back in time. So much we do know, and so IT IS theory of evolution too (remember that science does NOT take sides is there God or not, it just searches for His "fingerprints"). In fact creation from sperm-drop can mean only Adam ("created" ALWAYS in past time-form in Quran), as in future might be that there are some cloned people who are not created from sperm but from cloned cells, allthough those are too like kind of "semen" (this single "man" Adam was created was perhaps one of previous human-LIKE species, NOT human but almost, from who´s semen Allah caused this giant leap in evolution into modern people, in 6:133 Allah said He created us from "posterity of another people"). That sperm-drop and all "building blocks" for it came for that man from food, that originates from ground (86:6-7 "from sperm drop between ribs and backbone" = STOMACH), so Quran is still with evolution here. Water is where evolution and all life began (seas/meteors).

"Fashioned him" can be general description about developement in creation, but it can also describe how modern humans are much different (in appearance and in body) from earlier species. We in fact have been "shaped" from four legs to two ("shaped" as hadith stated).

38:72 says that when Allah “breathed†His spirit into Adam, notice that according to 2:34 given immediate command to bow down after that happened only after Adam was told name of things, so maybe his spirit was created in paradise before he came to body in earth, explaining how according to Bible Jesus said he was before Abraham was on earth, this "breathning spirit" can be seen as one thing making difference between modern humans and earlier humans/animals, maybe it is mostly capability to believe in Allah that was given to first modern human coming from womb of earlier human (in leap of evolution).

The above ideas on evolution ALSO forget the fact that Adam was created in Jannah, not on Earth.

This I explained above. He was created into paradise, but then soul of Adam and Hawwa were expulsed into bodies on Earth.

Fear God with respect to mistinerpreting the Qur'an with personal ideas.

I fear Allah, that is why I seek answers, for example to help myself and other muslims. In fact ALL interpretations from Quran can be categorised into "misinterpretations" or "personal ideas" as you did, as all interpretations are from humans, not from Allah (if you do not believe that Allah is One that gives birth for our interpretations as our Creator). Then we would have Quran that is not allowed to interpretate at all, and were would we be then? All kind of christians and such would be all over us claiming that Quran has contradictions and errors, as we would have no way to explain these parts from them. We could not even explain how creation happened, was water/clay/semen put together to form Adam or was Adam created from each separately.

The Messenger of God (sallah Allahu aleihi wa sallam) said:

Whoever interprets the Qur'an without knowledge must take his seat in hell-fire (Tirmidhi)

Then welcome to club.

God said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? (Qur'an 38:75)

Allah created human, and caused all actions in evolution to take place so that it will happen. Is that not work of His "hands"? DO NOT take "hands" too literally, is it not made very clear He is nothing like humans, unless you believe also that your "heart" is more than organ for mission it does, and not just symbol for human spirit/soul/innerself in Quran!

It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels bow down to Adam, and they bowed down; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those who bowed down. (Qur'an 7:11)

And by attacking evolution you might refuse to admit HIS CREATION!

He Who has made everything which He has created most good: He began the creation of man with (nothing more than) clay, And made his progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid despised: But He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him something of His spirit. And He gave you (the faculties of) hearing and sight and feeling (and understanding): little thanks do ye give! (Qur'an 32:7-9)

Again, nothing against evolution as I have explained earlier. Adam was created from sperm, that was created from food coming from ground of the earth, until his body were ready to accept spirit of Adam from paradise (as Allah knew it would happen even before creation of Adam into paradise). Surely, little thanks you give about it (evolution)!

And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect. (Qur'an 30:21)

Again, here is described beginning of humankind, from human-like species (right before certain border that produced Adam) and from humans. These human-like were still relatives of us, "among yourselves", so even both Adam and Hawwa could have come from them (or then Hawwa from Adam, or perhaps even from Adam and mother from these earlier species, in that case obviously before body of Adam received its spirit from paradise).

O mankind! Be careful of your duty to your Lord Who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and from them twain hath spread abroad a multitude of men and women. (Qur'an 4:1)

Again no denying that "single soul" could not be earlier human or that Hawwa could not be even offspring of Adam as I explained above.

He created you from one being, then from that being He made its mate (Qur'an 39:6)

You are repeating yourself. This I have answered twice now, look above.

W'as-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu

Aleikum salaam.

37:11 "Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay!"

You still think it is INSULT (what, FROM Allah????) if we would have been created from simps? This ayat shows that we really are basically normal animals, we even share 98% of our genes with chimpanzees. So if simps were easy to create, so are we.

Mankind were not created for anything else but for worshipping Allah as VICEGRANTS into Earth according to Quran.

Salaam.

When you said about hadith that who interpretates Quran without knowledge, he have to be ready for seat in hellfire, and I said that welcome to the club, I meant two things.

1. Everybody, EVERY SINGLE MUSLIM TOO, have to be ready for that possibility that he is going to hell too. No single Muslim can not know for certain that he will not go there, even for a certain time before salvation from there. So hadith might not be just about interpretations of Quran, but from understanding and practising Islam and Quran in general, and about huge risks that are involved between huge differences in WORD of GOD and our small ape-brains, that are capable of using only 10% of its best berformance, in best possible case. So we are all in risk, neither we wanted to interpretate Quran or not, risk is there even when we read it first time, do we understand hidden meanings or even obvious meanings. For certain it is that Quran is more hidden from others than from others.

2. What if just one guy happens to get knowledge from Allah that no other people has. Like for example in case of Jesus coming back this would be very likely, there was one unseen case in that man long ago too. So you are just going to deny Jesus when he is coming back, because some or many people (like most of people in average, even scholars) with much less efficient brains by less capability given by Allah in some things think otherwise? Ou boy, that sounds somewhere familiar to what happened 2000 years ago among Jews according to bible....

Are you even sure you have got prophesies about how Jesus is coming back correct? Could it be, like there usually in prophesies is, that even descriptions that sounds most obviously not in anyway complicated (like they do in our little minds limited to time and space), you still have missed another way? In first coming of Messiah for jews they were waiting for a king, who would conquer world for jews. He surely DID "conquer" world, especially for jewish-sect, and even as a king (expected also by christians) when christianity devided Rome to East- and West-Rome (from which Islam got east), but in most biggest scale for religions of Abraham (over 50% of worlds population), who ALL are fighting nearly only about him, Jesus. Remember that that kind of God, orchestrator of all things, we have....

Most important thing to remember is this:

Do we think that we have capability to say how (and why/why so) (www.)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_glossary/glossary_a001.html#Allah"]Allah has created (us and all others) ?

As we were created only to worship (www.)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_glossary/glossary_a001.html#Allah"]Allah and be VICEGRANT on Earth, and nothing else, can we say that creation through evolution (even from common ancestors with apes, NOT from apes them selves according to any theory) would be "insulting" or "less valuable" for humans or for (www.)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_glossary/glossary_a001.html#Allah"]Allah? Is it not RESULT that matters and can be seen here, why does it matter so much how it happened exactly in each part of that creation ( = why creation from water/ground have to be seen so stricktly literally, and not describeing different phases of creation in evolution)?

It is difficult for one who has been created non-Muslim to find Islam, for Muslim test is in understanding Islam CORRECTLY, and it is IN NO WAY MORE EASIER.

(www.)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_glossary/glossary_a001.html#Allah"]Allah said in Quran that we (humans) did/do not (and will not) give thanks about our creation. Certainly many (www.)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_glossary/glossary_m002.html#Muslim"]Muslims do not give thanks about creation (=evolution), no, they are attacking against it.
