Mucho 0 Posted November 9, 2005 How can one say that there is free will in Islam when to be a Muslim means you have submitted, don't you by submitting becoms a robot?
strider 0 Posted November 9, 2005 Assalamu alaikum True, a Muslim is encouraged to live their life in a manner stipulated by God but that doesn't deprive us of retaining the choice to chose between right and wrong. Ma'assalama
Mucho 0 Posted November 9, 2005 How can we exercise free will, if our destiny is pre determine by Allah, is this not a contradiction?
strider 0 Posted November 9, 2005 Assalamu alaikum Allah doesn't determine what we are going to do though He is aware of everything we will do even before we do it. Freewill of man still remains intact. Ma'assalama
*eli* 0 Posted November 9, 2005 :D Because everything isn't pre-determined Allah has given us tests and one of them being Shaytan. Its up to you what you do with your life, but we should try and remain on the right path, Insha'Allah. Allah helps & guides when we ask, Allah rewards when we do the right thing, so Insha'Allah no we're not robots. :D Eliza
