friend of all 0 Posted January 11, 2006 (edited) :D is it that masjid that was in the tsunami but it didnt get washed away ?? :D Nope. It is dome of the rock(Al-Sakhra) in Jerusalem. Reason why I posted was most of the people think it as Al aqsa Masjid. That's because media always show this one and never show real Al Aqsa Masjid. Even I have see some Islamic website wrting Al-Aqsa below Dome of the rock's pictuer. Check this one for more info (www.)"you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_moonsighting(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/firstqibla.html"]you can't post links until you reach 50 posts_moonsighting(contact admin if its a beneficial link)/firstqibla.html[/url] Edited January 11, 2006 by friend of all

At its southernmost end is Al-Aqsa Masjid and at its center the celebrated Dome of the Rock. The entire area is regarded as Baitul-Maqdis or Al-Qudus and comprises nearly one sixth of the walled city of Jerusalem. It is clear that Masjid al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock (Qubbat as-Sakhrâ) are two separate buildings, and not synonymous with each other as believed by some Muslims. However, both these buildings are within the enclosure of Haraam as-Shareef (The Noble Sanctuary) referred to in Qur'an as "the Furthest Masjid" in Surah al-Israa'(Chapter 17), verse 1. rofi 1 Posted January 12, 2006 :D Actually that is PART of the Al Aqsa Masjid, it is called the dome of the rock. The Masjid with the blue dome is also part of the Al Aqsa Masjid. I have heard a very knowlegeable shaykh say this, and he said that when all of the prophets prayes together in congregation it covered the whole square. Praying anywhere in that square is praying in Al Aqsa.

thezman 0 Posted March 18, 2006 :D Yes brother thezman and sister "Liv eachday as tho it is ur lst!", you are right. :D What really surprise me is we never see Masjid al aksha on TV. :DThat's because someone is trying to hammer into our heads (and the world) that the Dome of the Rock is Masjid Al-Aqsa. That way when the israeli's demolish Masjid Al-Aqsa and build Solomon's Temple in it's place, there will be no outrage, since everyone thinks that the Dome of the Rock IS Masjid Al-Aqsa...
