Recommended Posts

:D

:D

i started this topic because of a previous post about pants touching the ground can bring you into hell fire...

(im not saying the following examples are right or wrong, but these are what i heard and want everyones input)

everyone says take Islam as the middle path(not to be extreme or to lose,be half between) and its a easy religion....but my question is ..what is the middle path? what is easy????

-could i say brother and sisters its ok to wear your pants even if they touch the ground , but just dont have pride because of it , Islam is easy take the middle path, dont make it hard on yourself.

- could i say brother and sisters, its ok to wear colonge , were not drinking the alcohol its only to make us smell good,Islam is easy take the middle path, dont make it hard on yourself

-could i say brother and sisters, its ok to watch tv/play xbox (as long as no haram showing), these things are for us to enjoy,Islam is easy take the middle path, dont make it hard on yourself

-could i say brother and sisters, its ok to use soap with contains pig (bet alot of you didnt know that alot and imean alot of shampoo/body wash contains pig)its only for us to wash ourselves, were not eating it,Islam is easy take the middle path, dont make it hard on yourself

-could i say brother and sisters, its ok to use mouth wash which contains alcohol, were not drinking it, were only using it to cleen our teeth, its not haram to keep your mouth clean and healthy.Islam is easy take the middle path, dont make it hard on yourself

im not saying for everyone to do these things or not to do them ( im just trying to make a point)

see what i mean.......how do we know what the middle path is?......how do we know the middle path if all the time we get something and analyze it and say it contains both haram and halal?50/50... then whats just plain halal?

according to some people, these are yes we can and no we cant

pants touching the ground yes and no

watch tv yes and no

perfume yes and no

amusment park(mix gender, in usa, they rented out six flags amusment park for just muslims for a day) yes and no

mouth wash yes and no

soap yes and no

i can go on and on ........where do we draw the line?......thats why i think you have to ask yourself and say whats the middle path.........everyone out there has thier "own" version of the middle path..........do some research then do what you think is right.

*quick note - you would be susprised to find out what contains pork, they use other tricky names , it wont say pork ingredient

Praise be to Allah (The Exalted and Glorified).

The moderate path in Islam is following the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), going below that is lacking, the MUSLIM should improve themselves, and going over is extreme.

“Help you one another in Al‑Birr and At‑Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgressionâ€[al-Maa'idah 5:2]

Following courtesy Islamqa:

-If the alcohol which this mouthwash contains is not intoxicating, then it is ok. to use it, so long as it is not harmful, because what is haraam is only that which is intoxicating.

-With regard to the ruling on using fats from haraam animals in manufacturing soap etc., we have mentioned in the question referred to that there is a difference of scholarly opinion, but it is most likely the case that they are haraam and we are not allowed to use them.

The hadeeth of Jaabir was narrated by al-Bukhaari (2121) and Muslim (1581).

The wording is as follows: It was narrated from Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say on the day of the Conquest when he was in Makkah: “Allaah and His Messenger have forbidden the sale of alcohol, dead meat, pigs and idols.†It was said, “O Messenger of Allaah, what do you think of the fat taken from a dead animal which is used for caulking ships, greasing animal skins and which people use to light their lamps?†He said, “No, it is haraam.†Then the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “May Allaah curse the Jews, for Allaah forbade them the fat, but they melted it then they sold it and consumed its price.â€

- For colognes and perfume: If the alcohol content is not at such a level that cause intoxication, then it is permissible to buy it and keep it and use it as a perfume.

-With regards to TV and games: Watching TV is very dangerous, and I advise you not to watch it and not to sit in front of it as far as possible. But if the viewer has the moral strength to benefit from what is good, and that will not lead him into evil, then there is nothing to prevent him from that, if he knows that he has that moral strength. If he can listen to something good and benefit from it, and keep away from evil things such as songs and objectionable dramas and other harmful things, then there is nothing wrong with that. But usually the one thing leads to the other, so I advise people not to bring the TV into the home and not to watch it, because one thing leads to another, and because people are inclined to watch weird things if they are in front of them. It is not like listening; listening is less dangerous, but watching and listening may be more attractive and more addictive to people.

More evil than that are videos, if they contain depraved films and are circulated among people – we seek refuge with Allaah. These depraved video movies are more evil, and we must beware of them. The wise person, if he finds anything of that nature, must destroy it or record something over it in order to remove the evil. If possible, he should record something useful over it, so as to remove the evil thing and so that some benefit may be gained from the tape on which something good has been recorded.

Even more evil are satellite dishes. We must beware of them and not install them in our homes. May Allaah keep the Muslims safe from all evil.

-There are no trivial issues in Islam, rather all of it is serious and is aimed at guiding man to the best way. It is divided into basics and minor issues, and the issues of the beard and shortening the garment come under the minor issues, not basic issues. But it is not permissible to call any of the issues of religion insignificant. There is the fear that the person who says such a thing by way of belittling or mocking may be apostatizing from his religion thereby, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“If you ask them (about this), they declare: ‘We were only talking idly and joking.’ Say: ‘Was it at Allaah, and His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and His Messenger that you were mocking?’

Make no excuse; you disbelieved after you had believedâ€

[al-Tawbah 9:65-66]

Wearing one’s clothes above the ankles is obligatory because of the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Whatever part of the lower garment hangs below the ankles is in the Fire.†(Narrated by al-Bukhari in his Saheeh). And he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are three to whom Allaah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor even look at them or praise them, and theirs will be a painful torment: the one who lets his lower garment hang below his ankles; the one who reminds others of things he has given to them; and the one who sells his product by means of false oaths.†(Narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh). And he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah will not look at the one who lets his garment drag out of pride.†(Agree upon).

So the Muslim man must fear Allaah by shortening his garment above the ankles, whether it is a galabiyah, an izaar (lower garment, waist-wrapper), pants or abayah (cloak), and not letting it come down below his ankles. It is better if it comes to mid-calf length. If the isbaal (letting the garment hang below the ankles) is done because of pride or arrogance, the sin is more serious; if it is because of carelessness and not because of pride, it is still an evil action and the one who does it is a sinner according to the more correct of the two scholarly views, but his sin is less serious than the sin of one who does it out of pride. Undoubtedly isbaal is a means that leads to arrogance even if the one who does claims that he is not doing it out of pride, because the warning in the ahaadeeth is general, so it is not permissible to take this matter lightly.

- Whoever is advised concerning something that is haraam according to sharee’ah, so that he can avoid it or give it up, or is told of an obligation so that he can fulfil it, then he says something like this, “Don’t be such a fanatic and so extreme, be moderate" is doing wrong. What he should do, if he is advised, is to thank the person who has offered the advice, then he should look at himself and if the advice was justified, then he should avoid the haraam thing and do what is obligatory. As far as his comment “you are a fanatic†is concerned, fanaticism, laxity and moderation are all to be understood in reference to sharee’ah. Whatever is in accordance with sharee’ah is moderate; whatever exceeds that is extreme and whatever falls short of that is laxity. The standard in all cases is sharee’ah and the meaning of moderation is that which is in accordance with the sharee’ah. Whatever is in accordance with sharee’ah is moderate.

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem

Wa Sallah-Allahu 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een

The "middle path" isn't open to interpretation. The Middle Path IS following the Qur'an and Sunnah, as demonstrated by the Prophet (pbuh), the companions, and the pious scholars since then.

Adhering strictly to this IS moderation, and anything less or more than that is extremism. So it's not a matter of what people's opinions are on moderation, it is a matter of proving the lawful from the unlawful, or permisslbe, or recommended, or disliked, from the Qur'an and Sunnah, according to acceptable scholarship.
