as salaamu 'alaykum Br. SubhanaAllah

I didn't know you were a recent revert!!! I'm so happy for you, your first Ramadan, wow, that's going to be so cool. I really hope you take 100% full advantage of it insha'Allah. Learn about all the things you can do in this month, there are a lot. For example, in Ramadan, a Sunnah's reward is counted like a Fard's!!!!!

It will be the most amazing experience you've ever had, I guarantee it (insha'Allah :D).

Definitely make sure to tell us how it's going, don't worry insha'Allah there will be a ton of new topics started about Ramadan when it finally rolls around. Can't waittttttttttt. :D

wassalaam

wa 'alaykum as salaam, brother Aaqib Ahmad,

To prepare, you should clear the air with anyone and everyone you know. You shouldn't be in an argument with anyone. Also, if there is anyone who you feel like, "ehh" about, as in, you're not totally cool with him, or when you see him, even if you see him a lot, you get a feeling that you don't really want to be there, you should try your best to change that.

Basically, you should be on good terms with everyone. That's one.

Two, you should try to get rid of any bad habits you may have, gradually, because I know it's almost impossible to give something up altogether overnight. Just decrease anything you do that you know you shouldn't be doing, and insha'Allah, eventually you won't do that anymore.

Three, make a lotttttttttt of du'aa so as to get closer to Allah, and read a lottttt of Qur'aan so that your heart gets used to Allah's words.

It's like, you know how during prayers or while listening to Qur'aan, especially in Ramadan, a lot of people begin to cry? Well if you're not already used to it, where will the mercy come from that will influence your heart to soften and feel Allah's magnificent Word?

Anyway, those are a few ways to prepare, just keep making dhikr, just keep remembering Allah, keep learning about Islam. Get into Islam as much as possible. Obviously all these things apply on a daily basis but especially now that Ramadan is coming up.

Finally, I must say that I need to take my own advice, and that I don't want to preach what I don't practice, but I just wanted to help you out with ways to prepare for our blessed month.

wassalaam

Assalamu alaykum warahmatullah everyone, B)

Jazkallah Khayr for your wonderful post Haqqul_Yaqeen sister. :D

Inshallah we will all be mentally and physically ready for the blessed month of Ramadan.

Jazkallah Khayr for your help mehnaz sis. :D

Another thing we can do during Ramadan is visit the Masjid more often.

Also we can increase our prayers if they need increasing, like read more nafal.

Read more Quran is important, and giving the heart of the Quran, Surah Ya-Sin a read would be beneficial too, inshallah.
