Jannah (heaven)

Recommended Posts

Salaam to all,

I was wondering whether what is written below is mislead information or truthful information.

"Many texts indicate that nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand

of the children of Aadam will enter Hell, and only one (in a thousand) will

enter Paradise.

al-Bukhaari narrates from Abu Sa'eed that the Prophet (saw) said: Allaah

will say, "O Aadam!" Aadam will reply, "I respond to Your call, I am

obedient to Your commands, and all good is in Your hands." Then Allaah (swt)

will say to Aadam, "Send forth the people of the Fire". Aadam will say, "How

many are the people of the Fire?!" Allaah (swt) will say, "Out of every

thousand, take nine hundred and ninety-nine". At that time, children's hair

will turn grey and every pregnant female will spontaneously abort and you

will see the people looking as if they are drunk, although they are not, but

Allaah's punishment will be most severe". This speech distressed his

Companions and the said, "O Messenger of Allaah (saw), who amongst us will be

that man (one in a thousand)?" He said, "Be of good cheer: the thousand will

be from Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog) and the one will be from among

you". Then he said, "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I hope that you will

be one third of the people of Paradise." We praised and glorified Allaah

(swt) and then he said, "By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, I hope that you

will be half of the people of paradise, as you are among the nations like a

white hair on the hide of a black bull or a round hairless spot on the

foreleg of a donkey". (al-Bukhaari, Kitaab ar-Raqaaq, Baab Qawl Allaah Azza

wa jalla, innaa zalzalat al-Saa'ah, Shay'un 'Adheem, Fath al-Baari, 11/388;

see also Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 4/610, Musnad Ahmad 4/435).

The fact that it says only 1 person in a 1000 will enter Jannah really got to me and made me think, how can I be that one person?

I will inshallah expand on this topic once I find out whether the info above is correct or not.

Allahafiz

Yeah good question, and Is 1 out of 1,000 of muslims or non-muslims as well in the world?

Salaam dear brother,

I think due to the context within what the text is written,it means 1 out of 1000 human beings. So a mix of both Non Muslims and Muslims.

"Out of every

thousand, take nine hundred and ninety-nine".

So from every human being to ever live on the earth, you take a sample of 1000 and you can expect one of them to be good enough for Jannah and the rest for hell.

That is what I think the text means.:D

Assalam Alaikum

In this Hadith, it clearly shows tht those will be Non-Muslims. Because Prophet (SAW) says:

the one will be from among you

So from this "among you" refers to Muslims. Ofcourse there will be ppl from Muslims also in Hell Fire BUT onetime will come tht even Muslims from that group will be in Paradise.

The hadeeth says the 999 will be from the yajuj and majuj, those are tribes, not us. And like br. subhaanallah said, the "1" will be from amongst us. The hadeeth is pretty clear. But feel free to correct me if I am wrong, and Allah knows best.

Yes, there are SO many Yajuj and Majuj and they will all go to hell. The hadith mainly mentions that the 999 will be mostly them, so there is nothing to be worried about :D
