I was learning how to count in japanese yesterday.. B)

the idea is pretty simple and self-explanatory,Basically

you just count to ten in another language, aside from English.

 

Let me start with a language I'm familiar with..Aafrikaans:

I'm not sure if that was a typo but 5 is Qamsa or khamsa without the "r."

 

I’ve always wanted to learn Hebrew, so here are the numbers. I'm not too sure how right they are so maybe eyal or someone else who speaks hebrew can correct them.

hehe sorry to confuse you sis, but i thought brother freedslave asked where Aafrikaans was spoken, but he actually wrote "akhtinsfansik" referring to brother alsheeba's post, which i misread as Aafrikaans. :sl:

here are the numbers in Urdu (my mother tongue). They are very much like the punjabi and hindi numbers.

 

1. Ek

2. Do

3. Teen

4. Chaar

5. Paanch

6. Ch-hey

7. Saath

8. Aath ( the t and h are pronounced seperately)

9. Naw

10. Dus

 

btw sister passerby, in Aafrikaans, the v is pronounced like f right, and the g as kh?

 

umAhmad, aren't the telegu numbers like the tamil numbers?

Assalamu alaikum, Okay, I seem like the only expert in Telugu. Telugu is the State language of andrha Pradesh, and we had no choice but to learn it in school, in fact as a second language. so here goes:

hmm since I am in SA, i should post the zulu numbers... note many zulu letters are actually clicks... thats why i dont think i can learn zulu, i am not a natural tongue clicker :j:

akhtinsfansik = 28 , its counted likearabic , when sying 28 in arabicits like saying 8 20 , in german akth = 8 sfansik = 20 , sfay = 2 :sl:

 

i dont know much german , but i lived in europe for about 4 years, ( bath ,UK an Munich ,Germany )
