My Disabled Friend . . . . .

My Disabled Friend . . . . .

I deeply hated him,he never spoke nor had a word to say,

why won't he leave me alone?Go away,

I'd rather walk alone hearing the wind sway,

gave him 2 black eyes during the month of May,

I abused him week in week out,at school out school,

used him like tissue, what a fool,

even pushed him in the swimming pool,

he was used,abused,I'm proper kool,

I cursed his family to go to Hell,

laughed and smiled when he was unwell,

was all cause of me dare he tell,

in the hospital there he would swell,

WHO CARES?

I don't!

Hes not in sight,

wow I see my future so great,so bright,

he was blind in one eye and deaf in one ear,

a bit like my scrappy old teddy bear,

he went round in a wheelchair cause one leg was missing,

throwing darts at pics of him instead of kissing

how dare he think about being my friend?

wish he dies soon he'll end,

I suffered a deep accident playing footie, stupid ball,

no one bothered to see how I was or even bother to call,

I hear someone coming from the hall,

while lying in bed see a figure nice and tall,

Its my disabled friend.

I shout to the top of my voice

GOoo away,he was only trying to help,

gives me his best wishes then walks off with a tear,

and says I'll never bother u again as I was never wanted by U,

Few days later

I see a letter on the table beside me,it was from the freak my disabled friend,

it said:

Asalaam Alaikum bro,

I pray your well and always stay in good health,

I always loved U for the sake of Allah even when you deeply abused me,tortured me,hurt me,looked down upon me and made my life hell.

I only asked for as little as a smile and U couldn't even give me that.

Just seeing u everyday brang immense pleasure to my lonely heart.

I would always make Duas for you cause you meant the world to me.

5 Years ago you were involved in a horrible accident, you nearly died.I gave you my eye,ear and leg as a prizeless gift just so you see the world, hear the world and walk the world like I used to do.I wanted to see your face finally smile.I couldn't bear any more tears from your parents.I gave up my happiness and dreams just for you and didn't like others calling you the Disabled One.

Your Disabled friend always and forever

Wasalaam

I was bursting in tears, why o why did I treat him so bad,

why o why did I be impatient and mad,

now I'll pay the price, regret it and be sad,

I rushed to my disabled friend's house bursting with passion of love,

sparkles of emotion as deep as an ocean,

as I reached his home,

I heard moaning and crying, think it was his mum,she said,

our son passed away last night during prayer,

I stood there with intense regret running through my veins frozen like a snowman. . . . . . . . .

There are many gems and lessons we can learn from this poem, heres a few of them inshallah.

1)Make the most of your time with people because time ticks by hour by hour, minute by minute, second by second and death is approaching everyone of us.So be loving and show good character when interacting with people.

2)Never ever treat fellow muslims badly(or non-muslims) because that will be used against us on Day Of Judgement.

Since character weighs the most of that day we must strive to make it as good as possible.

Wish for others what you wish for yourself.

3)Live everyday as your last.If you were to pass away now:

How will others remember you?

What impact will you leave in this Dunya?

As a footballer, accountant, able student or most importantly a pious muslim.

4)Islam is about love, its a strong brotherhood so we must keep the bonds as tight as rope inshallah and help each other, take care of one other.

5)Life is a test, since the ink has dried and the pen has been lifted we must keep trust in Allah.Have sabr/patience with the heart and show Taqwa in all situations good or bad.Our destiny is written already.Allah is Al-Aleem(Al-Knowing) so alhumdulilah in any event.

Masha'Allah brother, what a touching poem :sl:

My brother is disabled subhaanAllah, alhamdulillah, so it makes me really feel for disabled people when people look upon them as different, are scared of them, don't want to go near them or even look at them. SubhaanAllah, disabled people deserve and need more attention than normal people, but it's sad that people don't realise that.

Jazaak Allahu kheyran for sharing brother, you're very talented :j:.

:D Another one of your excellent poems, displaying your exceptional talent.

An important message and reminder is within this poem for all of us; to be aware of the Blessings that Allah :sl: has granted and bestowed upon us. We should not only be aware of this fact, but true intelligence is to be grateful for them and to say :D whichever state we may be in.

It is only when we are made aware of such Blessings (ie when we are tested by Allah :j:) that we realize who our true friends are and who our Helper, Maintainer and Sustainer is.

:D

Hehe true, the word "hate" is not in my vocab :j:

My brother is disabled

Sorry to hear that sis,may Allah give him lots of love, blessings and shower immense mercy upon him, ameen.

:D *MuSlIm* sis for your informative post. :D

Yep we must praise Allah always especially in tough cases cause things could be worse.

Like if we hurt our toe,it could be worse as we could have broken it etc.

So we must always say alhumdulilah and subhanallah.

And we must make the most of our time with others. So we don't regret it later on

May Allah make things easy for us and forgive us all, ameen.

:sl: Masha'Allah!!!! That poem was so deep!!

Ya Allah, open our hearts and let us not be one of those who lack knowledge and awareness!

The poem serves an excellent reminder, at times we're so caught up in our own lives and what counts for our happiness that we forget others around us who may have an impact on us. SubhaanAllah!

beauitful ,nice

It's nice to be reminded always the unaccountable blessings, Allah gave us. It's also a great way to realise that there is definitely wisdom and trials behind every blessings from Allah just like there is purpose for everything in life.

once again aaqib jazak allahu khairan.
