One sheikh explained haqqul yaqeen in a very interesting way. He said to the extent of:

"I used to live in Egypt. When I lived there, I knew about skyscrapers in New York City. I knew they existed. I had no doubt in my mind. I was CERTAIN that they existed.

So I had 'ilmul yaqeen ("Knowledge of Certainty"). Do you think there is a chance I could still be more certain about their existence?

Well, I came to NYC and I saw the skyscrapers with my own eyes. Of course now I was more certain that they existed.

Now I had 'aynul yaqeen ("Sight of Certainty"). I can't be any more sure about their existence than that, right? I mean, come on, I saw them with my own eyes!!

Most people would think, "duh, you can't be any more sure than that!"

BUT there is a small little chance that my eyes decieved me, right? So believe it or not, 'aynul yaqeen isn't the highest level of certainty.

It is when I stepped into one of the skyscrapers, and actually had an experience inside it, that I was 100% CERTAIN skyscrapers existed.

Now, I had haqqul yaqeen ("Truth of Certainty").

THIS is the highest level of certainty, out of the three.

Now apply all this talk of skyscrapers into the Akhira (afterlife), Heaven, and Hell."
