faatimah 0 Posted September 2, 2007 If you are underweight and is unable to gain weight why not try eating dates with cucumbers? It is also sunnah and the prophet (peace be upon him) ate it it as well.[using large font size is not allowed] Why not give it a try
platinum601 0 Posted September 2, 2007 Ok. Arent cucumbers supposed to make you lose weight?
pashtunkhwa 0 Posted October 25, 2007 Its is a sunnah of the Prophet (saw) and Aisha (RA) also narrated that "they" whoever they were, were trying to make her fat but nothing worked. When they finally fed her dates with (wild) cucumber she gained weight. The thing is that dates in reality make one gain weight, due to their high energy content and sugar content. They make you gain weight without having to overeat. Cucumbers were eaten along with them because ripe dates, when eaten alone harm the teeth and spoil in the stomach because they are hot... cucumbers are cold and wet so its harmful effects are neutralized. Aamina 0 Posted November 1, 2007 :sl: Russ: Nope it's not a cultural thing. It's for those who feel too underweight, and so they want to gain a bit of weight. Just to note, date fruits is Sunnah (example of Prophet Muhammad :sl: ). The members above are discussing what the Prophet :j: recommended for the one who wants to put on weight, though you can suggest any other methods if you wish  Peace
