What The Hell Is Wrong With Me?

Recommended Posts

Salams

First, i just want to appologize for sticking this in Islam Discussions, partly because it supposed to be in the counselling forum, but i aint sure if theres something wrong with the website or my computer, but i cant start a thread in that department.

Anyways, my problem:

I am generally a nice guy, friends appreciate me for who I was, but i have a real issue, i dont know why, but ive been like this for a few years now and its really messed up my general social life. As of late, i have become quite a distant, awkward kind of person. My friends always say im too quiet, i have stopped socialising, my convos tend to be very brief and awkward, and when im groups, i just go all nervous and never talk. I just recently started uni, and everytime i walk into the class, i feel im the centre of attention, if i hear someone laughs, i feel they laughing at me, when i know they aint. I cant even socialise with the guy next to me because i find it difficult. If someone criticises me, i get bummed out big time. I have serious issues and i dont know how its come to this.

I have never had any of these issues back 4-5 years ago, but now im having serious difficulties, hell, i cant even socialise with my new sister in law properly.

Whats wrong with me?

salaam:

you are focused on the horizontal axis...get OUT of this web of appearances and (please) focus on the vertical axis..Allah above, does everything...all ideas thoughts are his creation...even if a shaitaan is causing this sense of uncertainity/inferiority, then that shaitaan was let loose upon you by Allah...

so the first answe r above is absolutely correct...focus above not along the horizontal axis..

subhaan-Allah means, Allah is pure of any flaws, weaknesses OR ANYONE'S ABILITY TO INTERFERE WITH HIS DECISIONS,OR ANYONE BEING ABLE TO CREATE IMPRESSIONS CONTRARY TO WHAT Allah WANTS...

so no matter what we do or say, the other person will only sense that about us which Allah wants(no what we wish/want)...so please focus vertically above(at Allah) and not along the horizontal axis(the tricks/mazes of the planet earth and earthlings)...i hope i said what i wished, understandably...

thankyou for sharing too..

may Allah open your heart (and mine) to the Blessings along the vertical axis' focus...salaam.

in addition to what others have said, i belive that it also may be just in your head. the social issue anyways.

for your social issue, it seems that you have lost confidence in yourself. if you belive in yourself in your heart, you can do anything you put you mind to.

what did i do when i lost belife in myself? i did pushups(to relese endorphans) and then i meditated. i contantly told myself who i am, and who i will become.

for you i suggest you so somthing similar. tell yourself who you are, and who you want to be, then belive in your heart and soul that you can do it.

that is just my 2 cents though. good luck and remember Allah is always with you.

These changes could be due to physical reasons brother, not saying they are... but you could have changes in hormone levels/whatever... perhaps you should talk to an expert about this.

it seems like you need a lil spice in your life- i suggest physical activities/sports such as boxing, basketball, or soccer! You could honestly go to your local park alone and just ask to play...almost every social problems dissappears after this (you should notice it within the day or so)!

Don't worry too much brother. It's natural to get anxious especially after a time where you feel alot of pressure and stress etc.

I am experiening the same thing in a away, i usually tend to keeo my chatting to the minimum when in groups etc. It's not about any illness brother, sometimes it's just ones personality.

Brother, if you don't mind me asking, what Uni do you go to ?

You don't know that. Not saying that it's an illness but you don't know that it's not.

There is no one to convince beside you, it’s only when you fear that you have this urge to escape, to yell, to divide and then conquer, thought is not about domination or conflicts or a will to power, its ultimate end is a will to peace which is only possible through knowledge and acting upon this knowledge.
