Al-Qur'an, 091.009-010 (Ash-Shams [The Sun])

091.009 ÞóÃú ÃóÃúáóÃó ãóäú ÒóßóøÇåóÇ

091.009 Qad afla[h]a man zakk[a]h[a]

091.009 Truly he succeeds that purifies it,

091.010 æóÞóÃú ÎóÇÈó ãóäú ÃóÓóøÇåóÇ

091.010 Waqad kh[a]ba man dass[a]h[a]

091.010 And he fails that corrupts it!

The above is a favorite ayat of mine from the Quran.

This was the ayat that was selected as a fundamental/basics

when we studied Ilmu Akhlaq. And i think, perhaps, there is much

wisdom on why these ayat is selected among the many other ayats. :D

Wallahualam bissawab.

''Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he!

His wealth and his children will not benefit him!

He will be burnt in a fire of blazing flames!

And his wife too, will carry the wood. In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad.'' [Quran 111:1-5]

:D / Peace to all,

I have too many fav ayahs. Different ayah for different time. Here is my fav ayah when i am praying to Allaah but am lost for words. So, i take relief in this ayah by knowing that Allaah knows what is in my heart, my needs and my wants. :D

29 Say (O Muhammad ): "Whether you hide what is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knows it, and He knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. And Allah is Able to do all things." Surah Al-Imran

Allah Knows What the Hearts Conceal

Allah tells His servants that He knows the secrets and apparent matters and that nothing concerning them escapes His observation. Rather, His knowledge encompasses them in all conditions, time frames, days and instances. His knowledge encompasses all that is in heaven and earth, and nothing not even the weight of an atom, or what is smaller than that in the earth, seas and mountains, escapes His observation. God desires to be merciful to you,...to make light your burdens, for man is created weak... Do not kill yourselves; certainly God is ever merciful to you. And whoever commits this agressivly and unjustly, We shall cast him into the Fire; and this is easy for God. (Quran 4:27-30)

Salaam!

I love Surah Asr because my dad used to recite it everytime we parted our ways, and it ends up that it's also my husband's favorite surah too :D

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By the token of time through the Ages

Verily Man is in loss

Except such as have Faith, do righteous deeds, and join together in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy

Subhan'Allah...it's just so powerful and full of wisdom.

Another one that really makes me think a lot is Surah Ma'un

Talking about how some people are all for show, yet they will not help others even in the smallest kindnesses.

I just love the whole Quran!!

9. Surah At-Taubah (The Repentance)

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim

38. O you who believe! What is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the Cause of Allâh (i.e. Jihâd) you cling heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter.

39. If you march not forth, He will punish you with a painful torment and will replace you by another people, and you cannot harm Him at all, and Allâh is Able to do all things.

Asalamalakum,

O ye who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to God, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be against rich or poor: for God can best protect both. Follow not the lusts of your hearts, lest ye swerve, and if ye distort justice or decline to do justice, verily God is well-acquainted with all that ye do.

O ye who believe! Believe in God and His Apostle, and the scripture which He hath sent to His Apostle and the scripture which He sent to those before him. Any who denieth God, His angels, His Books, His Apostles, and the Day of Judgment, hath gone Far, far astray. - Al-Quran 3:135-136

Wasalaam.

It is amazing how a book can be so profound that every sentence in it leaves the reader in awe. Only Allah is able to reach into our souls like that. Here is one of my fav's (Surah Ibrahim 32-34). The arabic sounds more amazing.

Allah is He Who created the heavens and the earth, and causeth water to descend from

the sky, thereby producing fruits as food for you, and maketh the ships to be of service

unto you, that they may run upon the sea at His command, and hath made of service

unto you the rivers;

And maketh the sun and the moon, constant in their courses, to be of service unto you,

and hath made of service unto you the night and the day.

And He giveth you of all ye ask of Him, and if ye would count the bounty of Allah ye

cannot reckon it. Lo! man is verily a wrong doer, an ingrate.

salaam:

my favorite is THE WHOLE OF surah aal-imraan's last rakou': HOWEVER ONE AAYAT IN WHICH Allah RABBUL IZAAT HIMSELF EXPLAINS THE 'MEANS TO WINNING' AND THE STAGES OF IT IS WHAT I FIND MOST CHALLENGING..

"f'astajaab lahum rabbuhum, annee laa azeeu' amla aamilin minkum min zakrin au unsaa, ba'zkum min b'az,FALLAZZENA HAAJRU V UKHRIJU MIN DIYAARIHIM V OOZOU FEE SABEELI V QAATALOO V QUTILOO, L' UKAFFIRANAA ANHUM SYYIA'TIHIM V L'ADKHULANNAHUM JANNATIN TAJRI MIN TAHTIHA ALANHAARU SAVAABAN MIN Allah V ALLAHU INDAHU HUSNA ASSAWAAB. "

SO Allah ANSWERED THEM, I DO NOT WASTE THE DEEDS OF ANY AMONG YOU,BE IT MALE OR FEMALE, AND EACH IS OF THE OTHER,THUS1.THOSE THAT MIGRATED (physically from lands or abodes of choice, and spiritually from desires of self/nafs)2. AND THOSE THAT WERE EXPELLED FROM THEIR HOUSES, 3.AND THOSE THAT UNDERWENT TORTURE FOR THIER FAITH IN ME,4.AND THOSE THAT COMBAT EVIL AND 5.THOSE THAT LOOSE THIER LIVES IN BATTLE,..I SHALL REMOVE FROM THEM THIER BLEMISHES/FLAWS AND I SHALL ADMIT THEM INTO DENSE GARDENS THAT HAVE CANALS FLOWING UNDERNEATH, A REWARD FROM Allah, AND VERILY Allah EXCELLS (ALL)IN REWARDING".

the translation in english makes the rewarding to sound in distant future, whereas in arabic the tense for future and present is the same, so actually the reward is promised 'henceforth''..i.e. as soon as one dedicates oneself to treading these 5 steps to victory.

amen.

Assalamualaikum:

Favourite Quranic Verse:

2:255. Allah! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory)

This is out of Suratul-Haaqa (69). It's so beautiful in Arabic.

19. Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record!

20. "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!"

21. And he will be in a life of Bliss,

22. In a Garden on high,

23. The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near.

24. "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!"

25. And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me!

26. "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)!

27. "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me!

28. "Of no profit to me has been my wealth!

29. "My power has perished from me!"...

Also Suratul-Insan (76)

Ayah number 22

22. "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised."

Indeed, with every difficulty there is relief.

(i.e There is more always more relief in some way or another than difficulty)

Check this thing out it's really cool...can't believe I never noticed it before... Surat al-Lahab/al-Masad, talking about one of the few people Allah has condemned to hell...

Surah 111:1-5

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he!

No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains!

Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame!

His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!-

A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck

Next verse?[using large font size is not allowed]

112:1 SAY: He is Allah, the One and Only;

Come on you gotta find that amazing!

Assalaamalaikum,

O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.

Al-Qur'an, 003.102 (Aal-E-Imran [The Family of Imran])

because in one ayah it describes the best way to live and best way to die.

All of the verses of the Qur'an are my favorite. :sl: But these two verses always provoke a deep reaction in me:

Had We sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, verily, thou wouldst have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes which We propound to men, that they may reflect. [Al-Hashir, 21]

And Allah sets forth, as an example to those who believe the wife of Pharaoh: Behold she said: "O my Lord! Build for me, in nearness to Thee, a mansion in the Garden, and save me from Pharaoh and his doings, and save me from those that do wrong" [At-Tahrim, 11]

The second usually brings me close to tears because it's so amazing that the wife of one of the worst of people was so close to Allah.

Salam.
